Does it only make the sounds in that area, or everywhere? If it's localized in the area near that monitor, than it's probably getting some sort of electronic interference from something. Possibly the monitor, or the coffee pot, or maybe even a close by wifi base station.
@camintmier Entirely possible. Not sure where it was coming from, just sort of emanated from the entire machine it seemed. The monitor I think was off, or at least in standbye. The closes base station is out in the hallway (this is a dorm room), and there weren't any appliances running at the time.
your getting a feedback loop from your mic and speakers you must have "listen to mic" turned on on the preferences
