I think that the best villain appearences are in The Batman tv show, though I didn't care for penguin, I really like Riddler and joker looked more crazy and stuff.

Problem with Harley Quinn she wasn't really a stand alone criminal, always seemed like she was working with some one!!! So Harley would do best if she was in one with Joker or with Poison Ivy.....since I remember here teaming up with them!!! Best would be to have her being introduce with the Joker since she falls in love with him and even helps him escape from prison! Good with Poison Ivy since they become good friends lol

@jkidbuu92 selena kyle (aka catwoman) and bane are the villians. Catwoman is to be played by Anne Halthaway and Tom Hardy is going to be Bane. It will be interesting to see how Nolan incorporates the groundbased effect into both villians but so far he's been successful. Roll on 2012 for The Dark Knight Rises!!! :D

Nolan has already stated he's not gonna be using mainstream villians for this one. He wants to use villians that have not made appearances in any Batman films.

And it would be awesome. I really hope Tennant gets the part for the 4th one (I have inside knowledge that Nolan is considering doing another movie after the forthcoming one, and it will probably involve the Riddler).
I don't want catwoman. I'm sorry but to me Catwoman is Michelle Pfeiffer and the Catwoman costume she wore is what catwoman should look like. Besides, let's do someone different. I personally really want Harley Quinn to show up soon, if not in this movie than the next.
Okay catwoman is okay...my concern is not hardy's potential as an actor, but his height...he is 5'10" and christian Bale is 6'1" with the bat suit, he looks like he is 6'3-4". Hmmm...Bane is huge and strong. Since it is a Nolan film he will be portrayed in a realistic manner, so he wont be looking extremely buff. Oh and to those people who think Bane is too stupid and dumb to play the main villain...the Bane you are probably thinking about is Batman & Robin's. hes really smart in comics ;)

@maxharleyrogerson On the flipside, if she comes in with the joker she could accidently lose screen time to him which would be disappointing seeing as how Joker's already starred in many Batman movies. I would like to see her interact with him a little bit but I also want her to get screen time which she would if she were an obsessed fangirl carrying on the legacy. The only logical villains are Joker, Harley Quinn, Penguin, and Black Mask since Nolan already created Joker who has everything a mind-gaming psychopath has so can't create a Riddler. Maroni could be black mask since he could have survived the car's fall.
I don't think they should stop having the joker around for the sequel, I think they should find another joker, it makes sense if harley quinn is in the sequel, she breaks joker out of arkham.

Sorry, but Nolan stated in an interview that the Riddler will not be the villain of The Dark Knight Rises. If it's not him, I think it will be one of the bad guys that can be portrayed in the new, realistic Batman universe, such as Bane, The Penguin, Scarecrow, Harley Quin (probably not as a full-scale villain, but a smaller role), Black Mask, maybe even the Mad Hatter or Maxie Zeus

Harley Quinn is not possible without Joker. The Joker is the reason Harley became who she is. It wouldn't make sense to have her without Joker, and Nolan already said Joker won't be returning.
Catwoman, although would fit in Nolan's universe, has already been done. I remember reading somewhere that Nolan wasn't very interested in using her anyway.
The Riddler is obviously the top candidate and has been the most rumored to appear. He already has potentional of working for Nolan's universe.

@XardoW It can't be Quinn, because Joker isn't there, and if you come back with the whole "She could be an obsessed fan girl carrying on the legacy" argument, just let that one go. Harley's whole character revolves around her dynamic with the Joker, she can only be introduced with him.

@maxharleyrogerson On the flipside, if she comes in with the joker she could accidently lose screen time to him which would be disappointing seeing as how Joker's already starred in many Batman movies. I would like to see her interact with him a little bit but I also want her to get screen time which she would if she were an obsessed fangirl carrying on the legacy. Even though it's extremely farfetched, what about her and Ivy teaming up? I doubt it'd work but I wanna see new villains.

i have noticed that a lot of people dont want johnny depp as the riddler. my question is why? he is a great actor. catwoman, ever since haley berry (sorry cant spell her name right) i suspect people would want to be catwoman. she did make her bad ass too. harley quinn, she does need the joker, because he is the one that made her. he is the one that, umm, "changed her life"...? dont know how to really put that.

The only logical villains are Joker, Harley Quinn, Penguin, and Black Mask since Nolan already created Joker who has everything a mind-gaming psychopath has so can't create a Riddler. Maroni could be black mask since he could have survived the car's fall.

Sorry, but Nolan stated in an interview that the Riddler will not be the villain of The Dark Knight Rises. If it's not him, I think it will be one of the bad guys that can be portrayed in the new, realistic Batman universe, such as Bane, The Penguin, Scarecrow, Harley Quin (probably not as a full-scale villain, but a smaller role), Black Mask, maybe even the Mad Hatter or Maxie Zeus

The Riddler should be Michael C. Hall, he could be very shy but very vain and condescending. If they ever make a Penguin they should reinvent his character with Jack Black to finally get the Penguin some fans and a more interesting persona. Charlize Theron should, no MUST be Catwoman and Milla Jovovich is perfect for the role of Talia (Raz Alghul's daughter) Finally, Joseph Gordon Levitt, extremely talented and looks a whole lot like Heath Ledger- What do y'all think? Am I on to something?

Harley Quinn is not possible without Joker. The Joker is the reason Harley became who she is. It wouldn't make sense to have her without Joker, and Nolan already said Joker won't be returning.
Catwoman, although would fit in Nolan's universe, has already been done. I remember reading somewhere that Nolan wasn't very interested in using her anyway.
The Riddler is obviously the top candidate and has been the most rumored to appear. He already has potentional of working for Nolan's universe.
