Hello Tony. We used this song just before our actual wedding started. I chose to play it then so that everyone would be seated, and could enjoy the garden and the song. Afterwards, I entered to Canon in D, your celtic version. Thank you for making my day's music so beautiful for our wedding.. It's really your interpretation of this piece (or any piece)... I really think this would be beautiful for a wedding or a funeral because, for me, it gives the image of a bright future with new horizons. Hi Tony, I must agree this is one of the most inspired pieces of JSB that there is.

I have it playe on the cello by Julian Lloyd Webber, which is also beautiful. I can see your interest in using a performance like this for a wedding, but as pointed out, it is really a piece to be played at funerals. However, your arrangement is really quite refreshing. Who's to really say where this piece is "really" to be played? I can count endless songs played at funerals that were not "really" meant to be played at funerals. The song is beautiful and elegant. Who wouldn't want this piece played at their wedding? I know of 2 other wedding collections that feature this piece. I consider it a versatile arrangement and am honored that so many people have used it for their wedding.

I SWORE I would NOT use Canon in D at my wedding, toooo trite. I used Arioso for my bridal processional. Since the wedding was in a small chapel the full 5min 28sec was more than I needed. Thankfully, this little fugue is easily edited. My perfect cut-off point was at 2min 52sec. I waited until the end of the first movement at 40sec before I appeared for my processional. All wedding guests said it was the most moving and beautiful music they'd ever heard at a wedding. Buy & edit in iTunes.
