well most song writers like to leave out the true meaning of the song to them because people can relate to the lyrics in many different ways. If the composer tells them what it means then it just ruins it for the listeners. but funny meaning to the song lol

This song means anyone who is in pain and hurting God or just some random person can be of help and help them out, but that person is either denying Gods help or that persons help. It's not meant to portray a dating relationship. Only a comforting relationship. But it could be used in this situation but that's not how it was written to be.
