oh yeah! and how do u say AM and PM when u say the time? 6:20 PM? Roku-ji-nijup-pun PM?
or when u want to say lets say... 8:15? hachi-ji-jup-pun-GO? i hope some1 replys! im doing pretty good with japanese but sometimes somethings in this series r not totally clear... /=
I'd probably bypass all the of the Hirigana. I'd also recommend something like the Oxford "Take off in Japanese" for a real language learning tool. Seems this video series is packed full of various flaws. Still fairly useful though.
I was on the Internet--talking about this series with some folks-- when the actor/musician, Nick (see credits at the end of this episode for his last name), came on and gave details about his work. Actually, he said he was the only "non-actor" in this. The rest were pros and were super nice to him.
Learned some new words today!

this is my last question- what is the root word for "dekakimasu"? is it "dekaku"?
ai43v3r 2 years ago
ok
i'll answer ur questions in the order u asked them
1. 8:15 is hachiji juugofun "8時15分"
2. asa "朝" means morning in general gozen "午前" stands for A.M. as in 9 a.m. (also, gogo "午後" is P.M.)
3. u may have misheard this word
it's dekakemasu "出かけます" and the original form (root word as u described it) is dekakeru "出かける"
btw if ur computer doesn't display the japanese i apoligize
i'm used to writing in kanji or kana

are "asa" and "gozen" the same? coz i search the word "morning" from a japanese-english dictionary and it's written as gozen?

NI and GORO? /=
ZShakib 3 years ago
Ni is 'at', Goro is 'about'.
6 Ji ni okimasu. (I get up AT 6)
6 Ji goro okimasu. (I get up at ABOUT/around/approximately 6)

If it is a continual or habitual action shouldn't the verb be conjugated with te form plus imasu?
