  • If I can't step on the crest then I cant go their....4 years man!!

  • I dont know why but I don't think I would like it here.....

  • So this is what Melanie gave up for Derwin huh. . . .

  • @ChuloBadGuy LOL

  • Indoor f***ing rock climbing!!!!!!!!!! But really it has a nice campus.

  • Hopkins blows: Google "Adventures in Cardiology"

  • I'm a Hopkins grad, class of '90. Just seeing those buildings makes me stress out over exams again. Yikes!

  • My dad went there, im only a highschool freshman but i already have full intetion to go there :)

  • do u guys have a frat row?

  • y does this look depressing!!!! :0

  • @fanofjapanandmusic And the total costs for the upcoming year is $55,390. Give me a break, buddy!

  • Hopkins Blows. Google "Adventures in Cardiology"

  • The campus looks a bit boring. Some of the dorms look like housing projects

  • As a current student here, let me just warn anyone who approach: Don't you dare do it. Welcome to the second most dangerous city in the country, and doped up students with the most fearsome pre-prefessionalism you can imagine. Be prepared for grade-deflation, uncaring, bored students, and an aversion to culture and arts like you've never seen. Get out your books and get out your adderall, because this is the most punishing waste of money you'll ever make the mistake of investing.

  • lol, Baltimore is not bad. You haven't been to the bad neighborhoods yet have you. I would say that Baltimore is sketch and poor, but most of the ppl out there are genuinely nice ppl who are living in poverty, working day to day to support their families so that they can go to school.

Johns Hopkins is the first research university in the US and was initially a graduate oriented university (University of Chicago was modeled after JHU, and UChicago was also a graduate oriented university)...

  • i'm a prospective student and i would appreciate your perspective. what do you mean by "aversion to culture and arts?" and "doped up students?"

  • Well thats a big turn off, im an undergrad student and i was thinking majoring medicine in JHU but if what u say is true Ill think it twice over...

  • @tbmc2 Yeah, at a bank-breaking $55,390 for the upcoming school year, you ought to try Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan, KS. The tuition is only about $450 or so per credit-hour for any student no matter where they're from.

Or live in Kansas for a year and try K-State, also in Manhattan. The In-State tuition rate is only ~$220/credit-hour this upcoming year, too.

  • I wanna be thereee in three years!

  • Thanks man!!!

  • Thanks man! This helps alot. Since I cant actually go and see the universities im applying to. This is the next best thing. thanks again

  • hopkins is such a great school... i have a few cousins who went here from 2003-2007 and i visited frequently b/c i live like an hours drive. the problem is baltimore is a little sketchy, but its improving

  • we have great security though

  • thanks for the vid!

  • Bradford 202!!! 2001.

  • wow, have u even been to BMORe

  • i go here, and yes it is the worst city in the states, i agree

  • Some schools that take greater aims to make their campus interesting include Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, UPenn, UVA...all similar schools in reputation to Hopkins.

  • have you ever even been to homewood? It is as peaceful as it gets. UPenn is in the ghetto, as numeorus departments of the school are in bad neighborhoods. Not to knock on Carnegie Mellon, but out of the schools you listed that is the most sub-par. Hopkins reputation is one of the most recognizable and admired in the nation. Especially its medicine department.

  • that was aimed at clintonportis200722

  • OMG Clinton Portis is my cousin, ohh and Im thinking about going to this school when i row up. im only 13

  • im considering applying here!! is it really as bad as you say?? have you experiencede this firsthand??

  • Homewood for undergrad is safe and in the best area of Baltimore city--maybe too quiet. the med school is in the sketchy part but that is as it should be so the med school residents and interns can work with a diverse population.

  • This vid wuz great. Many of my friends are not familiar with the Hopkins campus, which is absolutely beautiful. Now they can see that the envrionment really is different from the rest of Baltimore.

  • kjhlghiljkl

  • o no im a prospie, please dont scare me away!!

  • wow

its quiet and boring because this was OBVIOUSLY filmed in the summer......

  • The langoliers were here?

  • Thanks, Andy, for producing and posting this video! I am a delighted alum and now help interview prospective students and represent Hopkins at college fairs. I'll keep this reference in mind!

  • Good video, it really captures the beauty of the campus. I can't believe how quiet it makes the place look though. Maybe this was filmed during the summer because I've rarely seen Homewood this quiet in my time here.

To anyone thinking of coming to JHU, it's an incredible school and I had 2 fantastic years here after transferring from another university. The social scene is exactly what you make of it. There are loads of other schools near by and Baltimore has a lot to offer students.

  • ... JHU was one of my choices .. but it just seems .. so quiet. ;-; I see no people. >>;

  • dumbass

  • fucktard.

  • tard.

  • Majority is pre-med. Social life is very dependent on what and who you are. For international students, honestly, its not great because the community's small. Then again, it does force us to integrate with the americans, at least try. For non-international, its not too bad, but you really need to try to find a balance. The classes are tough, requirements are plenty, the education's exceptionally rigorous.

  • The campus is boring. It is the least lively campus I have ever visited. I have been to this place four times to see friends, throughout the year....there really isn't much to do on campus.

  • Oh, so that's how it is. By the way, it's your sister here! Hope you have a great time in U.S.!

From your sister who just loves you SO much,

    Maggie
