luther mahoney is in my opnion the best villian ever until david simon created the character in The Wire who took over after stringer bell can't think of his name he was having people popped then having their bodies in abandoned row houses.

Just finished watching the last season of The Wire and I wanted to see how Homicide held up. I watched this as a kid and it's still better than some of the unrealistic cop shows that are on TV now.

The problem i have with Luther Mahoney's character is that I never believed he could really be a drug dealer. He was too arch. Also they broke up the plotline too much in every 4 episodes. Oddly enough, David Simon would improve on this character in the form of Stringer Bell in the Wire.
