No, it is a working replica steam locomotive built to 16" Gauge. Typically this is what many 15" or 16" steam locomotives sound like when working hard - it's hard to believe how much noise this engine is making but consider the power required to haul all those carriages up the grade! They are not made to sound like full size, they are simply constructed using drawings of a locomotive to their particular scale and this is what they sound like as 1/3 full size.
This is a working scale 1/3 full size 16" Gauge steam locomotive. They are almost half full size so will certainly sound close to a full size engine working hard. My South African Railways 16DA I used to have sounds close to full size and that is only 3 1/2" Gauge - There is a video in my uploaded videos of my16DA locomotive - "3 1/2" Gauge 16DA No. 877 Blasts away in the darkness..." - and I specifically filmed it in the dark so one could just concentrate on the sound!
she is definately a model, built to sound like the full size.

Are you shure this is a model? The stack talk sounds real, almost as loud as the 1522.
