Jana's a good singer. She can wear whatever she wants this is 2011, not the 1700s. But let's not pretend that Indian women traditionally wore mini skirts and midriffs shirts. Let's keep it real. But I wish she has continued success.
She's comfortable with her body and herself. Not many woman have that confidence, not even me. She sings for the Earth and her people. I'd rather pay to see her perform then a bunch of wrappers and female "dancers" grinding on each other, singing about money.
@RockingestHellKitten that is exactly what I was thinking...no one can make a difference in the world without turning into the sex culture man that bugs me...
@RockingestHellKitten just from your name alone its seems like sex is always on your mind. What makes you think she is trying to get noticed for her body. That is your own thought and what you think alone. I see a beautiful women doing a traditional dance in designed costume.
@lookitpookit lol at the reference to my 'screen name'....I won't even entertain u with what u want to hear. U r right tho that is my own thought(opinion). I am not in anyway knocking what this stunningly beautiful has or is doing for herself. All the power to her. It was just my first initial reaction to think of when i viewed this video. So please don' take offense to what people say..there is alot worse that can be said. Cheers!
she's a good singer, but on the outfits, they look like something a white person would come up with to exoticize a native woman, our culture is more rich than that
No kidding. Great singer but I had to cringe at the outfit. I'm white yet I say that too (not that I'm a Native American expert) I wouldn't mind seeing traditional outfits actually I think its sweet!
@zareave you oviously don't know your history on where the mini skirt came from this is a tranditional outfit... the only thing different is it is not buck skin. Living in hot places it is normal to wear very little. Also the body in aboriginal culture was never a symbol of sexuality until a particular individual labeled it that way.. that it was not appropriate to wear. Why should she wear a long beaded buck skin gown to cover up when she is going back to the ancestors roots
@zareave I agree that its somewhat, however, the fact is that velvet was adopted from the Navajo Long Walk from the Spanish, seen worn in many Pow wows. Then again, many white women forced the Native women cover up and self conscious.
great singing, great warriors!!
