  • awful to see them there...stupid humans

  • awwwww let them goooo =/

  • If i were that orca, i would smash through the glass and get a snack...

  • @Rasmusolofsson lol then you would die because there would be no water and youll get cut up from the shards!!! :D

  • LIBERDADE, É ISSO QUE ELA ESTÁ PENSANDO! QUER QUEBRAR O VIDRO, MAS NÃO QUER FERIR QUEM MAIS A FERIU SENTIMENTAL-MENTE: O HOMEM!

  • FREE THE WHALES!!!!!!!!!!

  • poor whales.... they should be free

  • @loveyourwhiteshoes These DOLPHINS would probably not survive very well in the wild, seeing as they have never been there. As long as they're not mistreated, and are kept in an environment they can enjoy, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Dolphins do enjoy human company as well.

  • @loveyourwhiteshoes Into the ocean where some dont even know what the ocean is and will die there of lack of not knowing how to kill food

  • @TheBaltoOfficial that's not what I mean.... If captivity never existed, then that problem would NEVER exist!!!

  • @loveyourwhiteshoes yes just like BULLFIGHTING

  • stop eating whales!

  • Free Willy!

  • these orcas serve as "ambassadors" to their kind because people get to actually experience these captive animals thus learning about them and appreciating those that live in the wild

it's not like trainers are trying to capture all of the whales and put them in fish tanks..

  • @itsxjoeellleee People can learn more on a whale watching trip.If your excuse for this is that it is too expensive, then there is television and internet on which people can learn more about the creatures and become sympathetic to them. And consider how expensive going to a marine park is in the first place. Sea World and other aquaria have already long ago educated the public on the animals. Is it worth continuing the suffering and degradation for something we can teach through technology now?

  • @FighterForPaula1 yeahh technology is great but meeting these whales in person is an experience anyone could appreciate. and true that sea world and other aquaria have been around but there are still people out there who have never seen an orca OR any of the other animals at these parks.

  • We don't have to free the whales in captivity now, just prevent them from breeding... And when they are all dead, there will be no more whales in captivity! Look geniuses, problem solving! (:

  • @QueenMuffen They can't stop most of the orcas from breeding if they choose to do so. However, eventually (if captures halt) all orcas in captivity will be related from mating with eachother and having their sperm used for AI. There has already been inbreeding. A minimum of 50 individuals is needed for a healthy population to thrive. There are but 42 orcas in captivity.

  • hehe. Corky LOVES killer whale stuffed animals.

  • If all whales were free it would be better. They can't swim in that fish bowl of a tank.Tally a killer whale recently accidentally KILLED a seaworld trainer. If he was kept in the wild it would have never happened. This is what seaworld really does . . ,

~They put the whales in tanks, where they really

    should be free.

~They make them put on shows.

~If you didn't notice they have no foiledge in there tanks

~And the whales are bored all dayy.

they are only there for entertainment and money.

  • poor whales 1:21-1:34 people watching them for fun! its W-R-O-N-G!!! they need to be FREE!

  • u fucking retard they're there because they wont make it in the wild they're injured i work at sea world

  • thts really sad, i used 2 luv going 2 those things but now i realize how WRONG they are. seriously let the orcas free

  • Whales should be free not being watched and trapped in a tank which they suffer bordom, depression and a shorter life span this is WRONG

  • I think its a necessary sacrifice!! *Look how much a small child will grow to appreciate and respect these animals!! AND not alot of people realize that these animals dont experience as much stress as they would in their natural environment such as long migrations to find food!!! Im not saying that its a "great" thing for the whales but its not nearly as harsh as some think!! They wouldnt breed if they didnt like their situation!!!

  • @DrVegasIII i agree totally, the ones in captivity should stay there, the ones in the wild should stay there, and any animal will only breed when they are happy.

  • @cefurst1 That's not true. Even people proceeded reproduce in concentration camps....They may have sex out of boredom or a longing for closer companionship, even though orcas in captivity are housed in close quarters with other individuals of different species, with which they'd never interact in the ocean, and that communicate in different dialects.

  • @WhaleboyProductions1

thats true every whale should have freedom and live life without being in a box!!!!

  • @WhaleboyProductions1 although keeping animals in captivity is kinda fucked up, if we didnt have some of them then a lot of people (including the youth who will grow up to help these animals) wouldnt get to see them. at least not every animal is in captivity and at least most of the time they are treated well right?

  • @WhaleboyProductions1 The Holy Bible sayeth that man shall rule over the beasts of the earth. We are doing God's will.

  • @amidoingthis And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

  • @amidoingthis but god doesnt exsist soooo yeah were basically ruling their lives soo yeah

  • @vaporeon333xxx well, you're entitled to your opinion, however wrong it may be.

  • @amidoingthis well if ur god sayeth that every moing creature we shall rule over y dont we hav slaves anymore and y do we treat animals like our childern we do not rule over them we r 2 ake peace and live sid by side not rule kill slaughter them we r of to b one with

  • @WhaleboyProductions1 What inspired you to love whales?

  • such a small tank

  • Small? Are you kidding me? Thats a joke right? Seaworld probably has the biggest habitat tanks in the world for their orcas. That tank is not small. You want small, check out the Miami Sea Aquarium, then tell me this tank is small....

  • @hawaiianpony Compared to what they need to live in, it is small

  • Actually Marineland in France has the largest tank, Loro Parque is a little bit deeper but not as wide so overall Marineland's the largest. But SW's tanks are fantastic too.

  • @IAmADalek MLF is huge, especially for the low number of orcas.

  • The tank is actually really big

    I went last year.

  • @hobnob12345678 To you. And orca is much bigger.

  • and lolita is even older than thattt

  • Corky is in her 40's so she is living pretty long for being in captivity.

  • Poor things what a horrible life they have

  • how do they have horrible lives? if they weren't happy, they wouldn't be next to the glass looking at everyone

  • Because there not suppost to bin in tanks, they should be in the wild living to the age of 50-60 not the 13 they live in captivity, thats what i believe anyway but everyone has there own opinion

  • Um, captive orcas are living into their 20s, 30s, and 40s. 13 was an average lifespan in say...the 1970s.

  • OMG ,, So cooooooool .. !! :D

  • Whales need to be free not in a tank. That cruelty.

  • @ConnyBrown1962 THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS OCEANS.

  • @ConnyBrown1962: I agree. I hate seeing them being ogled through the glass by people, like their life is about being entertainment for tourists. They should be in the ocean, swimming with their pod, jumping in the air, splashing down, chasing fish or whatever down for meals.

  • Most orcas that are in Captivity now were born in Captivity. They would die if released into the wild and these two orcas are obviously very happy! They're having fun interacting with the guests. No signs of depression here....

  • @ConnyBrown1962 AGREED! they need beter then this

  • i like it when the one whale rubs his face on the other whales private parts, so cute :)

  • @mmastylez maybe they are communicating w/ each other

  • lol

  • yaaay i love corky and nakai

  • woh... cool!!

  • Why they allow to use flash while making photo in this place. Or people are so fucking stupid that they dont understand...

  • Killer whales are fucking awesome

  • is the little one nakai? :)

  • yes that's Nakai and Corky :)

  • I heart Corky. <3

  • I don't really agree on sea world....but that doesn't stop the fact that these creatures are bloody beautiful and magnificent!!!

Personally Orcas are my most favorite species of dolphin....then spotted dolphins comes second!! ;P

  • Dolphin? whale? isnt that why its called a killer whale?

  • Nope, they're part of the dolphin family.. They were orginally called whale killers because they kill and eat Small or baby whales. Someone mistook the name and called it killer whale.

lol I was confused at first too! :)

  • I love how curious they are.

    such beautiful animals

  • when they right essays ill agree with u

  • Captive Killer Whales have vastly-reduced life expectancies, on average only living into their 20s; however, there are examples of Killer Whales living longer, including many who are over 30 years old, and two Killer Whales (Corky II and Lolita/Tokitae of the Miami SeaQuarium) are around 40 years of age.

  • considering this is the only life they have ever known, how do they know they want to be somewhere else

  • yea really do you even know your facts?

  • Maybe if you did your research on the 200+ killer whales that have died in captivity you would find out the real truth. The averadge live expectancy is 7.5 years. Some live 1 month. some live 20 years. But average is 7.5.

  • Taikkah:

Obviously, you have no true knowledge whatsoever of these creatures.

kjbevin is right, there are many Orcas in captivity that have lived way over your "average".

Take Tillikum, for instance: He is approximately 27 years of age.

Try and brush up on our modern facts before going out and sounding like a moron.

  • Hehe, I know "the facts", thanks very much. I merely stated the truth. If you were to average the lifes of previoulsy killed and captured orcas you would find my exact same answer- 7.5 years is the average. I know just about every orca in Seaworld as much as a family member since I love killer whales and wish to have a job involving studying them when I grow up(in the wild) and I do know that some orcas live well past 20 in captivity, such as Lolita, Tillikum and Corky II.

  • that is true BUT they have a long life in captivity because they food everyday and if they are sick then they have a veterinarian help them get better so it kinda is that bad.....

  • @13itch333 - Orcas DO have a shorter lifespan in captivity then they do in the wild. MOST orcas dont even make it to there 20th birthday in captivity and calves sometimes dont even make it to their 1st birthday. In the wild one orca is a little over 60yrs and another is 80yrs. You hardly see an orca dead in the ocean or on a beach. A couple moths ago in seaowrld in 1 month 3 orcas passed away so you cant tell me that they have a longer life in captivity when the truth is staring you in the face!

  • ese pobre animal esta sufriendo!!!!

  • we have human rights so why can we put animals rights into prative to they should be in the ocean for to see for our pleasure. we are animals to treat them like this, amzing animals

  • very very sad, poor corky

  • i no

  • Shes not poor.

  • Corky isnt poor!

He likes it else he wouldn't interact with the humans, perform in the shows and espiecally not love his trainers!

  • She was taken to early from her own mother and doesn't know how to nurse them properly. The book is Listening to Whales by Alexandria Morton I think

  • I recently read a book about a woman who worked with corky. Corky lost six calves and has been known to stare at small stuffed orcas.

  • I love corky

  • orcas r soo cute!

  • sweetypiebarney is right...how would you feel if you lived in that little ass tank rather then the OCEAN...yeah i much rather live in a small tank where people bang on the glass and mock me??? NO..thats torture

  • I can't believe that SeaWorld would do such a vile thing. Cramming these orcas into a small tank so people could bang on the glass and mock them with their cameras and plush toys. It's just too damn horrible and inhumane.

  • inhumane: adj. lacking pity or compassion

i dont see how SeaWorld is being 'inhumane' by preserving biodiversity. it seems to me that they actually care about the preservation of these orcas..and that they do not lack pity or compassion for them. you make it sound like they hate these animals..

  • preserving biodiversity should not take place in a water tank but in the endless oceans. this is cute but crule

  • Crule? It's spelled cruel. ;)

  • I know what you mean, but those whales don't look unhappy to me. If all of the people were bothering the whales then the whales would move away from them. They usually have a part of the tank where the whales can go without all the people seeing them.

  • okay u need to chill if they dident like it there theyd rebell so nah

  • can i burrow that footage?

  • Sorry no.

  • hi

im not going to burrow my stuffed animals

  • @KSFBunny What a b*tch.

  • Gosh, Corky isn't even Nakai's mother, but he sure nudges her underside as if she is! That's so cute!

  • ann orca is a killer whale mongaz3r75

  • This is a big orca not a whale!

  • Don't know why I didn't come across this before. But that's me! Thanks!

  • Your Welcome!

  • OLYMPICSHOOTER, where are you getting your facts from? I worked on an animal rehabilitation center for over two months. They RARELY take animals out of their natural habitat anymore to domesticate them. The same thing goes with these whales. EVERY ONE OF THEM HAS BEEN BORN IN CAPTIVITY.

  • You don't even know what you're talking about.

  • That´s not really true Corky and Ulises are captured from the wild.

  • if the whales didnt like being around the people they wouldnt have stayed there that long. they would have swam away and stayed away from poeple...people in Seaworld take EXCELLENT care of those animals..they dont look like theyre in any danger

    =]

  • CHEERGIRL821 Do you understand what the words "kept in captivity means"?

  • Actually yeah i do know what it means thanks..and i never said the whales liked living there or that they liked being taken away from their home, but you dont know how the whales feel they may love performing for people and they may love playing with their trainers everyday..you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes..i know for a fact that the people at Seaworld love and care very well for all the animals there..so you might want to back off.b,c yeah i do sometimes feel bad for the animals

  • You are living in a dreamworld...

  • no im not im just trying to think of the positive things then think of everything negative.

  • Is it ok for me to snatch you out of your home and put you in a cage, I dont care if you hate it, your ass is going nowhere anytime soon, your going to stay in my cage, get it, live it, love it, OK!!!you have no say in the matter whatsoever, now enjoy your cage.

  • The whale's dont live in captivity for too long, they just up and die, so they go get another and give it the same name hoping nobody will know. I worked at Miami sequarium for 15 years.

  • wow, i didnt know they did that..it is sad for the animals..but i know at the seaworld in orlando they absolutly love their animals.. my best friends mom used to work there..and thats only in an aquarium..they may not do that a Seaworld..im just saying..not being rude

  • I'm sure they do like working with them, everyone does. You need to put yourself in a cage and see it from that angle, remember no matter how much you hate it, nobody will ever let you out, your in the cage until you die, just try to think about everything humans touch they destroy,we cant help it, were human's, thats what we do best, destroy, never creating squat:) 2011 ~V~ 2014

  • All for money and tourism, by 2011 you will understand this is not our planet, far too late to ever get it right, ( trumbull county sightings) Youtube, understand NWO ~V~

  • if you're so against captivity then why did you work with Lolita at the Sequarium? and they DO NOT have whales dying all the time. and how would you know because we all know that Hugo died and there wasn't even so much as a plaque in his honor!

  • Very true, all for tourism and monetary gain by a bunch of jerkoffs. I'm not going to say too much but someone snuck into Sequarium and gave a whale a bottle of jack daniels resulting in the death of one of the whales mentioned, its just humans that destroy everything they touch, we are the only thing out of place on this bluewater Aquarium called earth.

  • but in captivy live longer life they take reallly good care of them they get sick a shark won't eat them to keep the sea healthy the people will treat it to get healthieer it will learn to new skills like not to eat you! so i see how ppl get mad cause of this but look at the up sides too!

  • everybody don't say that people go and see animal the animal you don't know might actually like it better at the zoo how do u know at the zoo theu r out of harm and they live a longer life in captiviy maybe they want to swim free yes its wrong to take them out of their home but did you ask the whale do you want to be in the ocean or in this tank there are ups in downs like in thee ocean more water to swim in eat food they want to eat

  • They take them from their homes so they can make money of their acts at seaworld ETC ETC, put a human in a cage and they raise hell:):):)sad lives humans live.

  • That's actually not true. They're born in captivity, most of these guys. If they were to be let loose, they'd probably die. They don't know any other way. People have been their companions their whole lives.

  • This is so sad...

Dont jump on me with the born in captivity, endangered species&conservation BS...This animal is taught tricks,to entertain the sickest race on earth...in return for dead fish...

These are very powerful wild animals...they kill whales for food, captivity is no life. Fight the abuse&boycot oceanariums wit performances,&while you are at it...keep ur child out of zoos&the circus.Teach ur child what ur parents never had the forsight to teach you!

  • tricks keep their breains stimulated because they are intelligent animals.

  • ...haha! Airhead, do you know how to spell "Brains"?

  • y do people pay to see whales in tanks your just giving money to bad people

  • that girl below me (or boy) is talking UTTER BREEZE!

Orcas are NOT a endangered species, there is no reason why this poor orca should be imprisioned in this concrete box.

    Captivity is purely for money.

  • well yeah. I just noticed this is like in marine world so mostly they do this for making money.

  • maybe. but at least they take REALLY GOOD CARE OF THEM!!! there are ppl who own horses at some places PURLEY FOR MONEY. but they dont get NEARLY as enough attention as the orcas here. the horses are fed, brushed, ridden. thats their life. you should look into the good things they do for these orcas instead of whining about how they just want to swim a little more

  • SeaWorld's main goal is education. It just so happens that they were bought out by a larger company and given more money. SeaWorld helps with conservation and rehabilitation of animals. Get your facts straight.

  • omg i have that same exact stuffed orca from seaworld orlando! LOL

  • aww, its so cute how the orcas seem just as interested in us as we are with them! =D

  • they need to back up a little

  • All you fools need to learn how to spell.

  • they are prisoners. so sad.

  • you basterds know what animales can take care of them selves when shit gets in tollerable they deal with it (just ask roy)

"ohhh! animale rights animale rights!"fuck you !say the same thing for cows but al they do is eat shit and fart!whales love ppl. but they bite if they arent comfortable!so leave them the hell alone you democratic liberal pussies!

  • i agree with Goblet0fire.if these animals arent kept in capitive then most of the timethey get eatenby predators and may even extinct out from the whole earth which is way worser than being taken cared of in captive.

Plus If the orcas doesn't like the noise and peoplethenit should be swimming away from it.

  • How would you feel if you would perform tricks all the time. You wouln't get bored. Corky may love people cause Corky is grown up with people,

Do you really think wild animals would like to be captured? And btw Orca's aren't eaten by any predators, their only enemy is MENKIND

  • would you rather live in a luxurious hotel, perform shows in it, but not be able to leave the building; or would you rather live out on the streets where you can do what you want to, but there are also many dangers including no food. they both have ups and downs. you dont see the orca hurt do you? no.

  • The only reason for it to be captured is to make sure the population of orcas don't extinct. If there were no captive animals then we wouldn't have biology and animal science. Good thing that the Monteray Aquarium only captures it to study and they let it back into the Bay.

  • i agree w/ u!

  • thank you. =)

  • What is that for ridiculius thing, Orca's can't fokking choose, ofcourse they don't want to be captive, you wouldn't be in a prison, right?. So they wouldn't. People should just leave these whales alone and study them on sea or don't study them at all.

  • omg theyre not in a frickin prison!!! they are treated really really well, i mean, would you rather have ppl hunting them out in the ocean??? ppl experiment cruelly on animals and keep them in steel cages all their lives, and THEYRE not prisoners?? at least ppl arent disecting orcas ALIVE like they do to cats and monkies, why dont you go complain about that!? theres a video about it on the peta website

  • They are in a prison, because they can't go out, and about the PETA thing, i already did something for that, i'm a part of the WWF, IFAW and PETA is an American company for animals which i support through mail so don't tell me i don't care about animals who've people been experimenting with. It's ok to have orca's for a while to study but they shouldn't be in tanks, in a normal bay in a normal invirement. You also don't want your freedom suddenly taken away, do you?

  • actually i wouldnt care if i got a ton of attention and free food. btw, the captive orcas make people love them. if it werent for seaworld, i would have never heard of orcas!! ppl used to hunt orcas and other whales. well, since they put them in shows so ppl can see them and their beauty, ppl liked them more, then they passed the law that ppl couldnt hunt them. would you rather have them just not get to swim 50 miles a day, or would you rather have them extinct??

  • They don't know bbetter because of these humans here brainwashed their brain. They just want to swim in open waters like their for fathers did.

  • They don't know bbetter because of these humans here brainwashed their brain. They just want to swim in open waters like their for fathers did.

  • oh wahhh. then lets all just get rid of our horses, dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, and goldfish because its the SAME EXACT THING

  • okay u need to chill if they dident like it there theyd rebell so nah =p

  • most of these orcas were born here and they didn't suddenly have their freedom taken away. in captivity they don't no how to hunt so if you were to release them they would definitely die. they also don't have resistance to any disease of toxins in the wild. how would you like it if all the love from your trainers that you;ve known your entire life was suddenly taken away?

  • The fact that they had some in captivity in the first place kind of pisses me off...

  • oh wahhh! get over it! the first captive orcas were probably rescued, so ppl like miami seaquarium then thougt it was ok to steal them from the wild. so they decided to start training them. then they started breeding, and then their owners kept them to take care of them, study them, and teach ppl about them. later, other owners kept them to take care of them because they know better than to set them free, because theyll die in the wild.

  • I feel sorry for those killer whales i think they would be happier living in a big ocean instead of a small tank that just makes me so heart broken :'(

  • sometimes i wonder why ppl like you dont go complaining about how horses have to live in stalls unless theyre being ridden, or how pet birds have to live in bird cages, or how little kids have to live in houses. no offense, but captive orcas have better lives than other animals because orcas are too expensive to abuse (besides poor lolita).

  • i feel bad sob waaaaaaah

  • i feel so sorry for that beautiful whale and her baby.Orcas have such sensitive ears, all that talking must sound like constant thunder in her head. these animals should NOT be in captivity, its sick.

  • fantastico es vonita la ballena a mi me gustan solo cuando se enojan no me gusta porque me asusto !!!

  • I hate things like this. People can come so close to the whale. Can't be good for her =(

  • how can that not be good for her? thats like saying that having dogs as pets isnt good for them. well, theyre taken care of in a good place and they love ppl. besides, if the ppl are hurting her, then wouldnt she be swimming away?

  • Well dogs are domesticated wolves(which went over years and years), most of them can not care for themselves, killerwhales can. It is kind of cruel to let it swim in such a small space, since they are used at migrating, it's in their instinct.

  • dogs that are born in captivity cannot take care of themselves. those who were born in the wild (like wolves) can. this is the exact same thing as orcas. those who were born in captivity cant care for themselves because technically theyve been "domesticated", only the wild ones can. ppl used to catch dogs from the wild, but they dont do it anymore because they can just breed them. its the same thing with orcas.

  • Many animals die in captivity or become ill. Orcas don't live as long in captivity as they do in the wild, the wild is actually safer for them. A captive orcas depression is phyically manifested by the dorsal fin it curves over in captivity. In the wild their dorsal fins stand strait up unless they are ill. Whales are believed to have a similar intellect to man, so just think of how they feel.

  • OMG!!! Corky 2 is soooo cute!! I heard that Corky 2 LOVES stuffed animal orcas!

  • Thanks for posting the video. I have a question however, how did you get to see her through this observation tank? When I went 2 yrs ago you could only see them either in the show or from the balcony, there was no underground area. Is this new?

  • Feb. '07 was my first time every going to Sea World. Almost all the tanks now have a side viewing area.

  • XD You caught me and my friends interacting. I finally found footage from other people. Thanks for posting it!

  • hm... I hear Frosty's voice... and I think I see Ruka and her camera! D:
