Okay, I commented on one of the earlier creations of this video, and I want to point out a few things.

1. Officer, lose the beret. Nothing says "shoot me" like any indication of rank. This makes you sniper bait. If you have to use rank, some dulled symbol works best

2. Use cover. Sitting out in the open in any combat situation, real or otherwise, is not a good idea.

But at least me and my friends who just do this for FUN actually know a few things extremely simple as not to make ourselves stand out. One: No officer or NCO symbols that are obvious. This especially means salutes while in the field. No one will defend anyone's rights with their head blown off.

Two: WATCH YOUR MUZZLE SWEEP. You don't want to kill your own guys.

Three: Study some basic tactics. Like walking in a skirmish line, a delta formation or a stick line. Then practice them. A LOT.

I think you are refering to a column and wedge formations, and you are correct, just be careful, trained snipers are trained to look for signs of who is an officer and who's not when there are no obvious signs. Seek the truth.

Also, since you don't have heavy weapons or artillery, you need to capitalize on your mobility. Start using guerrilla tactics (hit and run, using a LOT of snipers, sappers) to play to your strengths. Try to fight a conventional army by their rules and you'll get stomped.

It's a very good training aid, just recognize its limitations and it can be as valuable if not more valuable than actual firearms. That's what I fear, most militiamen will hoard guns and ammo but won't train with them effectively, but airsoft actually trains you in tactics. Consider forming your own militia, you seem to have your shit together, peace.

Yeah, it does have it's limitations. Simply because the weight and ammo count aren't the same. But the use I believe is pretty close. And yeah, we actually have more than a few ex-military members, but out here in California, I think the forming of a militia would be frowned upon. People could not directly stop us from doing it, but a lot of roadblocks would be set in our way. So if we just stay as an airsoft group, we won't be bothered really.

But as a training aid, I highly recommend airsoft.

Actually you could just keep doing what you're doind and then go to the range and practice marksmanship with firearms similar to the ones used in airsoft, and you're right, there are states with "anti-militia statutes" and "anti-paramilitary training statutes", but all you have to do is practice movements with airsoft and marksmanship with similar firearms and you'll be fine.

Yes it does. And also, airsoft is different than paintball because our weapons look, feel and operate (control-wise) nearly the same as the real steel. And where paintball is just a "shoot-em-up", airsoft (most of the time) forces you to think "how can I shoot them without them hitting me?" in a realistic setting.

The distance isn't real, so it forces us to get closer and thus be a LOT quieter for our ambushes. And this way, we get something close to actual combat experience!

I play paintball regularly - you always, always think about "how can I shoot them without them hitting me" - otherwise you'll both die at the same time, which is worthless. So it is about flanking, leap-frogging into structured areas, entering compounds, multi-building areas, etc. One hit on the gun or hopper and you are out. And they DO train with paintball guns called mil-sim (military-simulation). They shoot at 400 ft per sec- so it hurts, makes big welts.

Not at alkl, the Forces of the US as laid out in the constitution are, the Army and Navy, The Organized Militia (nAtional Guard) and the unorganized Militia, (private citizens not controlled by the government. this was to ensure a system of checks and balances and that the government needed to "fear the people" that elected them, not the other way around.
