The Higgs boson is the base in which certain forms of energy slow down to create mass of a physical object. The "Big Bang" it creates will let the scientists examine exactly how everything came to be.

Im skeptical of the LHC actually achieving anything. If you examine the science behind it, you'll see that the mystery particle they need to find is the result of mathematical equations..
