@doom696mented NAWW MAYNE. Black Sabbath had some fast stuff and almost all of Pentagram's songs were pretty fast. I think it's more defined by it's sense of despair, which yes is usually achieved through slow tempo.

You should listen to Electric Wizard, Candlemass, Sleep and Bongripper for a few good examples of Doom, Dan. I'd def. call this Noise Rock or maybe Stoner Metal, ala High on Fire. I can def. see the Melvins influence, though. Reminds me of a local band at my old home called "Medusa". You should check them out! Really damn good stuff, IMO.
