Why? Evidence of their efficacy at preventing injury is mixed to say the least; & compulsion has resulted in worse safety records, & a massive drop off in cycling rates in parts of Australia & New Zealand.
I believe that for every helmet you sell, you put someone off cycling. making it seem specialised & more dangerous than it really is. Maybe that's partly why cycling is seen as such an outsider, purely sporting activity in California, Rather than every day transport?
