  • Great song, I love this album much, it's like soundtrack for some great fantasy/sci-fi movie or game... Aurora is like theme for some great metropolis where are running monorails or somethin... Lively place... :-)

  • ONLY YOU MIKE YOU ARE THE ONE WHO COMPOSE THIS SPACE MUSIC AND MAKES THE MIND TO RUN OUT OF THE GALAXY TO SEE OTHER UNIVERSES WITH THE SPEED OF LIGHT. YOUR MUSIC PERFECTION FEEDS OUR BRAIN AND MAKE US BETTER. PANOS FROM GREECE

  • The paint splodges are surely not intentional anyway...

  • spatterpaint belongs in a video about bird droppings

  • This spatter-paint belongs in a birdsh!t video.

  • beautiful

  • wikkid, i closed my eyes, and there i was riding a magic sled driven by none other than father christmas himself :)

  • i thought music of the spheres was without beat? since there is no time in heaven.

lol i wouldn't call god the mythical tosser. :D he might get angry.

  • Nicely done! :)

  • Brilliant,

    Thx for adding.

  • very positive track ;D I like it very much.

  • very positive track ;D I like it very much.

  • very positive track ;D

  • OMG, so beautiful!! I'd give so much to see the Aurora in person one day!

  • @anette2050 You can actually see a faint glimpse of it from Michigan's Lake Huron coast in around the small city of Port Huron. I used to see some of it when I was around fourteen years old from our house back in 1987 I lived there for a year. It's a beautiful state and town but very redneck and hard to gain acceptance if you don't grow up there from birth.

  • @anette2050 You can see it from Michigan faintly.

  • One of my favourites from Mike, although there are many - amazing video too!

  • Good soundtrack, but the quality actually decreases if you turn on the HQ button ...what's up with that?

  • Soooooooooooooo nice!! I LOVE IT!!

  • Mike Oldfield ein brillianter Musiker, dieses Stück ist so schön, ich könnte es andauernd hören und dann noch die tollen Bilder, sehr eindrucksvoll, das ist 5 Sterne wert

  • haah wow.. never really took time to listen to his newest albums... bud i really like this one :)..

lol my friends also dont understand why i always listen to mike oldfield.. guess they dont let the emotions come in to them.

I'm just 18 bud i can understand their upbringings.

  • I liked it. Paint splashes as fireworks is very much how it feels to splash some pigment on a sculpture or canvas.

  • The video presentation is a perfect complement and presentation for this

    music track!!! BRAVO!!! Beautiful pictures

of the Aurora Borealis. A very POWERFUL

composition by Mike Oldfield. I like the abrupt change to the softer denouement

starting at about 3:00 too! Fantastic job!

  • I ve been listening to Mike Oldfield for years , my friends dont understand why i like his music , but doesn t it make sense to listen to something which is nothing short of magic

  • LOVE IT!

  • A brilliant collection of images, really well put together!!! 5*****. I have used the same music for my Saturn video if you have time to look. Thanks for sharing! :O)

  • Great

  • da bekomme ich gleich wieder eine gänshaut. danke! und die bilder passen so gut zu dieser tollen musik!

  • beautiful. showcases the handiwork of God

    in a truly lovely way.

  • The handiwork of god.....

CORRECTION : Auroras are produced by the collision of charged particles from Earth's magnetosphere.

    Get the facts straight.

  • Correction: charged particles from the Sun following the field lines of the Earth's magnetic field and said particles then interactiong with the ionosphere :) But, yeah, no God there, just fusion, emission travelling, collision and interaction.

  • Thats basically what i meant, i just got carried away and said "from" instead of "in" but anyway, it just annoys me when people say " this is because of god" really pisses me off because it ain't got jack to do with god, and i can see someone trying to contradict me when i say that. And one more thing, i think god and religion is a load of baloney which only lets people believe in the missing gaps of science and the fact is, Darwin was right, so what does that tell you about god and the bible ??

  • And how do you think that interaction happens? or maybe you think its a coincedence that the collision of the particles create such an amazing effect?

    definately the handiwork of God!

  • "How does that interation happen" - ergo, i do not understand something and so put it down to mystic belief. In fact, the earth's iron core, reminant of the earth's formation, spins so as to generate a magnetic field (as would happen in throughout the universe). Just as you don't think your cathode ray TV is a work of god, so in space, charged particles are deflected by magnetic fields. This fact allows the atmosphere to persist on the planet rather than be blown off...

  • ... by the solar wind - something that happened to Mars. The fact that this happened by complete chance allowed life to evolve into people over 3.5 billion years to now be typing into Youtube, equipped with a brimishing intellectual capacity solely to ignore the truth as revealed by incontravertible, peer-reviewed and repeatable data collected by generations of human scientists and the brains of all mankind. Yeah - it is down to God.

  • give it a rest - who cares? and you reckon atheists are bad! isn't it enough to appreciate beauty rather than bringing that mythical tosser, god, into the equation?!

  • That "mysical tosser" is not in the equation, He formulated it :-)

  • ah come on now! FACT over faith

  • It gives your argument to appreciate the beauty much more effect when you aren't tainting it with your own opinion of religion vs. science. How about we just say that this music is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures are absolutely gorgeous, and we quit trying to bludgeon people into believing our way?

    Go Mike Oldfield.

  • I can't help feeling disappointed, or rather anticlimatic on hearing Mike's opus. It's very film soundtrack-like, but it is pleasant enough, and that's its problem...it's just pleasant.

The idea is good, and requires a good system to give its soundscape/stage plenty of room and range. Sadly, it does not grab and hold the interest like TB1, Ommadawn, or TB2, which I consider his best. Just my opinion.

  • Lovely work. Thanks!

  • Breathtaking. Your images enhanced it wonderfuly well.

  • This is my fav track, great vid works well!

  • i heard this song in my music lesson 2day and i have listened 2 it ever since, nice pics as wel

  • LOVE THIS TRACK! Already bought the album..aged 64! got ALL Mike Oldfield's albums now! Brilliant video..but just wish you had emitted those "paint splodges"! That's all...think it WAS for visual IMPACT...but those photos had it anyway, without their addition! MANY THANKS!Keeo 'em coming!

  • Thanks MissDivine132 - actually the paint splodges are programmed into Muvee Producer and appear automatically. Sometimes I feel they work very well, over times thay are a bit over the top.

  • Got my copy yesterday. Have played it in the car and at work (loud). Sounds a little Harry Potterish in a good way. It is growing on me. This track is one of my first favorites. Mike still has it in him. Thank god

  • Something which is interesting about this particular track is that the CRISES theme (from his album 'Crises") can be heard between 2:50 and 3:07. Very clever how Oldfield does that! He does the same thing in the album 'Songs of Distant Earth' on the track 'The Shining Ones' with an allusion to the 'Five Miles Out' theme. Brilliant! (I'm sure there are many more examples of cross-album thematic borrowing which have thus far eluded me.)

  • There is a theme from Muse from Guitars album somewhere on Music of the Spheres. I'm not sure right now where it is, but I'll find it and post it here. :)

  • Wow, thanks for that info. Well to tell you truth I've also found in the entire composition some reminiscense to Incantations, and some other classical compositions such as Bizet's Carmen and of course Jean Sibelius'influence.

Every time I listen to Music of the Spheres I find something new in it.

    Regards,

    Vanesa

  • Nice idea for a video. :)

  • What an amazing track!

I'm off to Amazon to order a cop.

  • And when the cop's arrived, I'll order a copy of Music of the Spheres.
