@Slipandfall360 Almost agree there.Zeppelin II, Alice in Chains Dirt, Ozzy Osborne Diary of a Madman, Pink Floyd Wish you Were Here and Yes Big Generator.
I went out and bought the Physical Graffiti LP and cassette in 1975. The cassette is LONG gone but I'm suitably proud to say that I still have the LP in pristine condition, played it about 5 times only and the album itself has always been in a clear plastic protective sleeve.
Somewhere in my teen years I heard stairway to heaven one too many times on the radio, this song became one of my top 3 Zeppelin favorites (along with Achilles Last Stand and Since I've been loving you). 20 something years later and those are still my top 3 and I still can't listen to Stairway. Is that odd?
I got this 8-Track in 1976 and would listen to it with headphones on. This guitar solo blew my 12 year old mind. The album made me feel the need to learn how to play guitar. So I did. Thanks Jimmy. It has been a game changer..
Said to be a song about a girl plant new as a younger musician who gave him an ultimatum involving her or a career in music... leave it to a dame to practically deprive the world of some of the greatest tunes ever to be made.
95% of teens now listen to the same pop songs over and over again. If you are one of the 5% that still listen to real music, put your thumb up, then copy and paste this in 5 videos. DO NOT LET THE ROCK AND ROLL DIE!L
This song is so beautiful, reminds me of how my friend got into a fight at giant eagle in the kids play area over whose turn it was on N64 and not sharing doritos. Good times even though hes doing 5-10 lol. My friend if you see this you'll know its for you from me. Shout Out BTM
I started playing guitar because of them. Today I wrote and recorded an original song. If you want to hear how Led Zeppelin-inspired music sounds 2012 style click on wisztrock. I think you'll like it.
@blueberrr1956 The proof is in their f-ing biographies. How do you think Bonham died? Further more... who cares whether they did or not? Guarantee it wouldn't have been as good if there wasn't drug or alcohol use. The same torture of the soul that leads a person to do those things is the same torture that often spawns amazing creativity.
@KriticalHit i saw them in Frankfurt in 1980, the second to the last concert ever with all 4 original members, John bonham died from a od , ( speed ball ) and was found in a swimming pool in england
@wlh1usa Bonzo drank an unknown amount of vodka, passed out, and threw up in his sleep aspirating on the vomit. It happened in a bedroom at Jimmy Pages house in Windsor. You're thinkin someone else on the whole swimming pool.

@blueberrr1956 It's not slamming them - they're human beings we all go through what we go through - it's all part of the journey. Jimmy made it back from the addiction, sadly Bonzo didn't. It doesn't make them bad people, 'cause they aren't (far from it) - just human.
@blueberrr1956 ------It was the 70's, yes they did. Read up on Zeppelin Band, you will have your proof. (The "How Dare You" made me post.) A lot of great bands partook in illegal substances, so what? Doesn't make them any less of musicians in my eyes.
@blueberrr1956 Dude they were pretty heavy drug users, that doesn't make them any worse though. You will notice that alot of the best bands out there were full on druggies, Aerosmith is known for having had a huge drug problem, but they are still an awesome band. Anyways, Zeppelin is the best band ever. Rock on.
Led Zeppelin was a very BOLD, very POWERFUL and knew exavctly what they were doing and how THEY wanted to present their songs. All their songs whether it be a ballad, hard rock or simply the blues you hear their creativity and uniqueness in what their doing.
@gablalez a lot of there music was. especially back then. they really were the first in the timeline of heavy metal. nobody played beats as bombastic as john bonham or riffs as heavy as page. robert plant was a blues howler before zeppelin and really brought that bluesy gruff style of voice more into the limelight of rock and roll
@gablalez Sadly what was once a glorious genre of music has been corrupted to, well, Metallica. This is one of Zeppelin's softer songs, but a good example of their heavy pioneering is Black Dog. Sexiest song ever, according to Slash.
@gablalez heavy metal now is very different from heavy metal in the early 70's. by 1975 metal had completely moved on from where it was 5 years before.
Not only was the 60s 70s and 80s great music, but for those of us who were around when great bands began, it holds great memories of times when we held so many hopes and dreams, we had no major responsiblities and the world was ours for th...e picking. We also believed nothing bad could ever happen in our lives. Those youthful memories happen but once in a lifetime and the music holds those incredible memories and that is one powerful bond. No wonder we love our old school music so much.
In the early 70's they made $240k for one show and that show (in Atlanta..1973?) I believe was the largest grossing concert (over the Beatles)....If I recall 40000 people showed...if my math is correct A LED ZEPPELIN TICKET COST $6!!!!!
@SD1Chargers it is not correct. The promotor has surely taken a big slice of the cake and renting the venue must not have been free either. The concert tickets of big bands can't be that cheap.
i have a couple of guitar vids that are in a jimmy page style, id love it if you could check them out and give me ur feedback! please help out the NEXT GENERATION OF THE BLUES. cheers every1
@cmsimo999 this is my "feeling depressed about what modern music has become and need to be reminded that there is still amazing songs that give me chills" song!
time is just a construct of human senses so we can relate it with our memories...but you are right about enjoying every moment while we can as it makes a human life seem divine and the divinity is heightened by great art like led zeppelin
@atomicpunk. never fear, those 20 somethings are empty, with nothing to offer you in any way. do not feel alone, there are many like you, we know this music, we love it and we feel it. something those 20s will never know in their vapid lifetimes.
We are eagles of one nest, The nest is in our soul!!
Played this on a jukebox in a bar after work the other night. The 20-year old somethings in there were making fun of this. They don't get it. Feel like I'm all alone.
@atomicpunk48 That's just sad....I think if you don't like this song you lack a soul. Probably best if you stay away from people without souls and just listen to Zeppelin....because these boys definitely have giant souls.
I've been listening to these guys for over 40 years, they still amaze me. As for the 20 somethings ask one very simple question, will the stuff now be here 40 years from now? Then after that ask this, how many bands used LZ as their inspiration to play and model themselfs after? The answers are obvious, even to those people.
@maf5454 Just started listening to zeppelin religiously last march break when my family and I took a road trip to Florida... to this day they're my absolute inspiration and will be for a lifetime. Hardcore Zeppelin fans are friends of mine!
Mighty Mighty Zeppelin hits it out of the park with this tune......being 54 and having had the pleasure of seeing them live.....this LP (Physical Graffitti) and this tune (10 yrs gone by) still bring tears to my tired eyes!!!!!!!
Listening to this song and so many others makes me realize just how far Led Zeppelin's own influeces span, much less how many other bands have been in some way inspired by them. Its aggravating to hear people talk about great music being dead. In many ways great music lends part of itself towards building more while never truely dissapearing itself.
I find it funny how many people born recently(relatively) complain that they missed out on this generation of music. You didn't, you're listening to it right now. We live in a great time for music, a time where a click of a mouse can lead you to a masterpiece.
@Swarmofsnakes Your are right. But it is kinda hard to listen to it all alone. And that your 'friends' don't get it at all. It is like being in heaven alone. It is difficult not to share this magic.
@Swarmofsnakes thats true, but on the other hand there are groups you cant even see live now, cuz they separated, or theyre dead.. and i actually would be so excited to buy records, or even collect them.. today thats gone, yeah, we have youtube and stuff but the real is gone ;/
@Swarmofsnakes kids that say that missed the music SCENE. missed when this deliciously good rock and roll was the popular thing. missed incredible live performances. we can listen to the songs.
im very envious towards those of you who got to experence led zeppelin and their incredible music, you got to expierence the greatness and rawness of the 60s and 70s and other generation. when im older however i wont have any fond or incredible memories of music from this decade only listening to zeppelin on youtube knowing its the closest i could ever get to the 70s a time where music was meaningful n awsome
@holagirl2723 You are totally right, I don't know how many times I've told my ma that she should have had me long ago..lol I'm only 18 =/ Fuck this generation of music! Okay take it some is alright, but nothing compares to Led Zeppelin!
I run a new blog, for talented individuals to share their youtube videos. If you notice, many people work hard on talents, film them, post them here and never be discovered.
I plan to turn that around with my website - talentsifter(dot)com
My dream of running a quality website, is almost true. All I need now is traffic to help spread the word.
Please guys, if anyone can help me achieve this it is you guys. You can see talent.
Me too. I'm a teenager too and I also want to apologise for everything my generation did to music. Please don't kill me. I like good music, like Led Zep:)
The most overlooked and under rated Zep tune of all time

@maf5454 Just started listening to zeppelin religiously last march break when my family and I took a road trip to Florida... to this day they're my absolute inspiration and will be for a lifetime. Hardcore Zeppelin fans are friends of mine!

I played Led Zeppelin when I'm with my girlfriend one time, and the next thing I know she's naked.

@alexrider27 Definitely a panty dropper band. This is real music.

@Swarmofsnakes a ''click of a mouse'' is not the same as being in a concert expierencing the beauty of true rock n roll

@Swarmofsnakes you're damn right. wanted to make a similar point, but was too lazy.

@Swarmofsnakes thats true, but on the other hand there are groups you cant even see live now, cuz they separated, or theyre dead.. and i actually would be so excited to buy records, or even collect them.. today thats gone, yeah, we have youtube and stuff but the real is gone ;/
SuicidalxPain 3 weeks ago
@Swarmofsnakes kids that say that missed the music SCENE. missed when this deliciously good rock and roll was the popular thing. missed incredible live performances. we can listen to the songs.
but we missed it.

im very envious towards those of you who got to experence led zeppelin and their incredible music, you got to expierence the greatness and rawness of the 60s and 70s and other generation. when im older however i wont have any fond or incredible memories of music from this decade only listening to zeppelin on youtube knowing its the closest i could ever get to the 70s a time where music was meaningful n awsome

Please take the time to read..
Please thumbs up if you can
