starmanskye can you site your sources. All I can find is support for my position and the Honduran people. His ties to Chavez are suspect and he was lawfully removed from office. He refused and the military was sent in. I am not sure that part was allowed since the constitution did not address how to remove him. Again I would need some sources on that one. I read 7 Honduran newspapers on-line today and did not find what you are reporting.
Wrong. Obama doesn't 'support' Zelaya, he was citing rule of law. Even the Honduran Constitution doesn't authorize removal-by-force. Honduras' own top legal expert ruled the coup was a serious crime. Zelaya was not deposed by the Honduran people, they didn't vote him out, the elite-controlled Congress did, on a specious pretext. Zelaya was not trying to rewrite the Constitution, esp. not to extend his term. He was polling the public re: a new Constitutional Convention, which is NOT prohibited.
Correct, why can't Clinton and OBAMA understand.... I know they have to be on the right side of things, but the right side of this is that Honduras does not what to become another Venezuela.
Frankly, I'm disgusted with self-styled 'experts' on foreign affairs which they know next to nothing about & have such firm convictions on they aren't interested in truth that contradicts them. That's the perfect example of American arrogance, disrespect & insolence. FACT: Acrticle 5 of Citizen Participation Act 2006 authorizes gov officials to make opinion poll surveys about policy issues. Entrenched elites viewed Zelaya's serving needs of majority poor as a danger to their privelege & power.
