  • @regisrf

    THANKS!!!

  • skip to 1:00. Its what you came here for.

  • THUMBS UP IF TOP GEAR GOT YA HERE....IN A JAAAAGGGG :)

  • Never seen a "green flash" in my life, and I can't see one here in the video. I am, though, diagnosed as red-green colorblind, so maybe it is there, but it's invisible to me. :\

  • @makikihustle me too, dont worry. I wouldn't have seen anything special about this video if I wasnt already looking for it :/

  • @makikihustle adjust the hue on your display so the sky is blue, then enjoy the purple flash

  • @makikihustle Because it's not a flash perse, it's a quick change of coloring the last beam of the sun goes thorough from yellow to green, you can see it at around 1:00

  • i read about this in the book Flush, i guess its real after all

  • I love green flashes! Lovely

  • if this was played in reverse it would look like an explosion

  • nailed it

  • Jack sparrow has returned

  • up is down?

  • I saw the green flash in bonaire( caribean )

and this is fake, all video's at youtube from green flashes are fake,.

the one at pirates of the caribean is real

  • The first night in Hawaii I saw this! Amazing in person

  • dude omg ah my eyes i stared at the sun too long...

  • Welcome back, Captain Jack Sparrow!

  • Wow, the sun looks like it was dipping into the water, and it moved so quickly. That green flash was amazing!

  • this is completely real

it is called a green ray

Also known as the Green Flash. This occurs very briefly before total sunset and after sunrise. It appears as a green flash above the sun that lasts very briefly, generally only a few moments. It is caused by refraction of light in the atmosphere.

  • @Devinsdman

    your mama!!!

  • @Devinsdman its real look it up its a rare natural phenomenon

  • @Devinsdman i would like to argue that something that is none existent(fake) cannot have a preference in sexual attraction, nor have the ability to express a joyful or positive emotion, such as happiness.

  • @Devinsdman I agree Devinsdman

  • @Devinsdman its actually not

  • Comment removed

  • Why the sun looks so big?

  • @royalstarfish17 Cameras have this function on them called "zoom". It allows you to make objects look bigger without actually being closer to the object.

  • great video. I also have one with hd pictures and video that explains it very well I believe thanks..

  • that song is on the movie "The Beach"

  • beautifully captured, thank you for posting!

  • Actually, they're not rare at all. With low humidity, and unobstructed view of the horizon, (no haze/clouds) they are frequently seen. Most people miss them because they are staring at the sun, and their eyes are desensitized. The green, then blue flash are tiny slivers and dim. To see them, you should avoid looking toward the sun until the final moments when the sun is nearly out of sight. I live on the Florida coast, and have seen them hundreds of times. Great video!

  • cerenkov radiation looks cooler, but i guess you could see this whenever the sun sets or rises where as you need to be a nuclear physicist to watch cerenkov radiation.

  • green flashes arent real, that is clearly an alien trying to shoot the sun

  • @NzTyler totally agree

  • is that sped up at all ?

  • @StuartWFilms No real time

  • @StuartWFilms real Time!!!

  • .19 someone needs to rock those boats

  • awesome

  • 1:00

  • Delusions. I can't count the number of sunsets I've witnessed, in a multitude of atmospheric conditions, and with several other people present. Never once have I witnessed the phenomena, even when those around me claim to have seen it. Keep it up though, it's a great indicator of how gullible people will be when they hear some bullshit, perpetuate it, then claim that I blinked.

  • @fullyhalfempy

maybe you should wikipedia 'green flash'. It's clearly there - you just don't know what you're looking for. It's the very last seconds of the sun setting where it's green

  • wait, is it the actually sun that seems green? or is there really some green flash?

  • @izzykun88 The green flash Is really an optical illusion in the sun seems so close to the sea horizon that of course a green flash appears Its really just the suns last rays turned green because of the angle their coming from.

  • song??

  • @PerfectDecalibration Porcelain moby

  • @mattirottstock thanks

  • So that's the green flash, nice video. wish moby would shut up though.

  • Really cool video!! Great song choice!!

  • over the edge over again

  • Well that's more than less than unhelpful :S Why aren't these things ever clear?

  • up is down now thats just medly unhelpful

  • @sonicfreak04 madly unhelpful dude.

  • @sonicfreak04 maddening the unhelpful

  • It's great! It's indescribably beautiful!

...but are you supposed to look directly into the Sun? OH SANTA MONICA I'M BLIND!

  • you are supposed to look directly into the sun during the last second of it's being up :]

  • I was standing watch on the bridge of the USNS Paul Buck about 600 miles into the Atlantic. I saw the green flash at sunrise and it was far more bright green than the sunset.

  • the town is called shipwreck ??

  • If I saw what I just saw that's pretty cool

  • we are spoiled with this here in florida

  • lets tip that boat

  • its at 1:07 pause it there and you'll see it

  • The Color Green is the next color to red which is the farthest color to travel.

  • I tried seeing it there when I was there 2 years ago and saw nothing :(

  • Mah teacher said that he saw that 8 times ô_O

  • man thats so awesome i hope i see that one day

  • U can see it in Germany (north sea coast) as well.

It can be seen at nearly any clear days especially

at a coast, where the sun sets "into the sea".

The moon can do it as well...

  • good choice of music :)

  • really cool

  • wow!

you got a green flash for about 4 sec!

    amazing...

  • Thanks

  • Thanks

  • That susede in Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End

  • expet that disney made the flash as big as the tsunami was from 3m apart from it

  • My wife and i were lucky enough to see it several years ago on holiday at Aruba- an unmistakeable emerald flash at the last moment as the sun dipped. We cherish the memory all the more as we already loved the film The Green Ray by Eric Rohmer, but never dreamt we'd see the real thing.

  • amazing!!!

  • amazing!!!

  • luv the song whats it called?

  • It's Porcelain by Moby.

  • why aren't there any videos of a green ray?

  • this is the green ray.

  • ugh its a green flash... a green ray is when a actual ray shoots up in the air. it is so very rare that no one has pictures or videos.

imagine it the same as in pirates of the carribean, but waaaaaay smaller. though, the ray that shoots up is still visible.

  • Thanks

  • Oh wow, amazing

I've only heard of this phenomena, but I'm glad to have seen it on youtube
