i would buy a used bike. Something that is small and cheap. I would suggest a sv650, monster, ninja 250/600,etc. Old bikes will not loose lot of value. Plus your insurance would be lot cheaper.
After 10,000 miles sell the old bike for same what you paid for or little less if you drop it. After 10,000 you will have a better idea on deciding what you really want. It really depends on your riding style. I prefer 4 cylin for smoothness. However v twin have instant torque.
I dont like to change the bike in 2 Years, after i have make my Bike exams. In Switzerland if you aren't 25 years old, you must make the exam with 25kw (36PS). Atfer 2 Years with 25kw, you can "open" your bike and use the full Power --> 98 PS :P. This is the reason, why i dont want to change bike after 2 years. I am 1m 87cm big. and if i'm crousing with a r6 or so i bekome "back pain". I would like to have a Naked bike.
@AL4lsoside If you don't like all of this technology simply drive with bikes from 70's & 80's. Back then they didn't use computers to design motorcycle. And btw ABS is only working when you loose grip and lock front or back tire. When you block front tire it is very obvious that you will hit ground and then man & machine will be damaged. Personly I wouldn't like to see my bike scrached or totaled...
Yes of course:) Say it to the doctor when you crash on the slipy paint on the road when rain comes down and you will have to brake to avoid hitting another car....
Beautiful Shiver, where did you get the bellypan from?

Hello there
I would like to buy me a bike (first bike) but i dont know which bike I should buy.
Kawasaki Z750 or Aprilia Shiver?
The Z750 is more the standard bike with 4 cylinder and the shiver is more something special with V 2 Cylinder.
Did you have problems with your shiver?
Or are you satisfied?
Thanks...

@ajejef Buy something less powerfull for a first bike, best choice would be 500cc but if you are desperate at least buy Kawasaki er6n.

Fair enough.
Eventually all bikes will probably have ABS anyways!
Just to me its like having traction control on a bike, i've spoken to some who had it on his bike for years, and it was never once used!

@Rafal264 Maybe you dont understand ABS, if there is no grip between the tire and the ground in the first place, ABS will to jack.
The only real time i can see ABS being usefull is if you snatch at the front break in the wet. Or similar..
im much more "man and machine" rather than "man machine and a computer in the middle"
