I know Derren seems like he 'debunked christianity', but the logic here is, 'HYPNOSIS CAN EMULATE Jesus to a certain degree, but that does NOT prove that Jesus is fake".
He should of chosen a guy with a little more sense, maybe an atheist as it would show how badly fooled religious folk can be? The guy he did choose seemed quite silly and temperamental.

After telling her about the hypnotist techniques used in the sales pitch, luckily she didn't waste her money.
And I don't think most of the people who believe this are really dumbasses, just in a lot of pain and very desperate. I should've clarified that in my previous statement.

I also learned about the various tricks and techniques being used by frauds including hypnosis etc. Since then, I have actually experienced astounding miracles which are real and supernatural in everything from financial to healing. No counterfeit can compete with the real Jesus.
This episode makes me trust Derren Brown when he mentions he does not use actors for some of his acts. Or could this 6 month masterpiece be engendered just to misdirect me and earn my trust? >.>

A secular nation (idealistically 100% indefferent towards religion) could think out of the box.

Derren Brown is not the average television performer. He is a special man with a proper head and the ability to see past taking the easy way through an already established career. He cares, and that is a rarity today.

What an amazing video. I'm especially happy that they chose a Christian to play the role of the preacher, and I say this as an atheist. I am glad that people are able to come together to simply show the corruption without trashing on others' beliefs.

I thought this was going to end with a disaster when you finally do the 'big reveal'. However, it did end with a very ethical decision to convince that faith healers, not faith, are fraudulent.
This is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen, just excellent work. And how telling is it that Derren, Nathan, and co. are far more concerned about the ethics of pulling off this hoax than the so-called true faith healers are about lining their pockets with their victims' money?
Sadly, this expose won't have nearly the impact that it should. There are simply too many desperate and/or ignorant people around to keep Popoff and his ilk in business, no matter how damningly they're exposed.

@Rainy64 There is simply no proof. Find me a before an after picture with clinical documentation of amputation regrowth via "faith healing". Why? Can't find it? Remember that a certain very low percentage of people who lose their sight WILL get it back. No one who has lost a limb will ever grow it back. Also, if faith healers can heal the sick through the power of god then why not work out of the hospitals? Is it not morally reprehensible for them to require the sick to come to them?
I know of a healing that I personally witnessed. I had a friend who was hard pf hearing went totally deaf...for over 10 years-hearing aides didn't even help! On a FRI in 2004, at a prayer meeting Gloria Copeland prayed over my friend...in the car on the way home- her hearing returned! My other friend driving and I have YEARS of experience w/ deaf people- we're interpreters! We know this woman was deaf-documented...She can hear now! Their are some real healings going on!
In addition... that deaf woman did NOT contribute $1 to the Copeland group. She was profoundly deaf (Documented) and now she can hear. documented. (it took her about 6 months to figure out voices don't always match the person they are coming from.It was a little humorous. NOT ALL ARE FAKE.....

She said it was like underwater when she was going deaf back in elementary school! It's on film someplace...goes back to 2004! She never heard her son's voice change! I am a christian and I agree with this. I have always held these as frauds when they are nothing more then showmen using peoples most sacred belief to make profit.
At about 1:09 the charlatan say we're about to see arms grow back. Now that's pretty easy to verify, and needless to say, we've never seen *any* evidence of a faith healer being able to do such a thing. So the thing is ... since it'd be easy to prove that he didn't keep his promise, shouldn't be subject to law suits and be made to return all the money he's made to the people who gave it to him?

Did anyone else notice how Darren Brown and the filmmakers fucked with our heads by weaving an elaborate story where they take horribly stupid risks and *almost* get discovered so many times?
You all may laugh at how he duped those believers, but you all have been duped as well. No way they just drove on to that preacher's private property just days before the show "hoping" not to be discovered. That must have all been filmed afterwards.
Overall, great show! People, we should share this on our facebook, myspace, twitter...awareness is paramount when warning people about these fraudsters!
I'm 50 minutes in, and this is the most stressful documentary I've watched. I find it difficult to keep watching, but it seems to me that he's doing the right thing.
There were fakes in the Bible too...Matthew 7:22-23. But what if some of those things ARE being healed in Christ's name? Maybe God's power can still be used in the power of Christ's name, even by someone who Christ will say, "I never knew you" (a person who doesn't really believe)
Some of this was very uncomfortable to watch. I could only imagine the amount of stress Nathan experienced - especially during the phone calls. Very interesting documentary nonetheless.
As a firm believer of Jesus i went into this documentary thinking, "hmm a douchbag British guy out to disprove religion, how original..." After watching this I applaud him for his work, especially for Nathan who did what I could never have done. Im speechless, A+ work, entertainment that i can learn from. God doesn't work through money

@Rainy64 There is simply no proof. Find me a before an after picture with clinical documentation of amputation regrowth via "faith healing". Why? Can't find it? Remember that a certain very low percentage of people who lose their sight WILL get it back. No one who has lost a limb will ever grow it back. Also, if faith healers can heal the sick through the power of god then why not work out of the hospitals? Is it not morally reprehensible for them to require the sick to come to them?

I know of a healing that I personally witnessed. I had a friend who was hard pf hearing went totally deaf...for over 10 years-hearing aides didn't even help! On a FRI in 2004, at a prayer meeting Gloria Copeland prayed over my friend...in the car on the way home- her hearing returned! My other friend driving and I have YEARS of experience w/ deaf people- we're interpreters! We know this woman was deaf-documented...She can hear now! Their are some real healings going on!

In addition... that deaf woman did NOT contribute $1 to the Copeland group. She was profoundly deaf (Documented) and now she can hear. documented. (it took her about 6 months to figure out voices don't always match the person they are coming from.It was a little humorous. NOT ALL ARE FAKE.....

The deaf woman was well-known to me &another sign language interpreter for over 15 yrs for my friend &10 yrs for me.It's scary to think it COULD be real-anyplace.

Respond to this video... She was in our car on the way home- even WE were shocked...we pulled ovr on a 4 lane highway! "OK what exactly are you hearing??" She said it was like underwater when she was going deaf back in elementary school! It's on film someplace...goes back to 2004! She never heard her son's voice change! Never heard MY voice...She had trouble matching voices to faces-said people don't always look like their voices! Some of her stuff was funny.

At about 1:09 the charlatan say we're about to see arms grow back. Now that's pretty easy to verify, and needless to say, we've never seen *any* evidence of a faith healer being able to do such a thing. So the thing is ... since it'd be easy to prove that he didn't keep his promise, shouldn't be subject to law suits and be made to return all the money he's made to the people who gave it to him?

Did anyone else notice how Darren Brown and the filmmakers fucked with our heads by weaving an elaborate story where they take horribly stupid risks and *almost* get discovered so many times?
You all may laugh at how he duped those believers, but you all have been duped as well. No way they just drove on to that preacher's private property just days before the show "hoping" not to be discovered. That must have all been filmed afterwards.

There were fakes in the Bible too...Matthew 7:22-23. But what if some of those things ARE being healed in Christ's name? Maybe God's power can still be used in the power of Christ's name, even by someone who Christ will say, "I never knew you" (a person who doesn't really believe)

After watching this I applaud him for his work, especially for Nathan who did what I could never have done. Im speechless, A+ work, entertainment that i can learn from. God doesn't work through money
