Barbaro was a nice horse, and it can't be denied.. but too many people overrate him sadly. He won 6 races, thats all 6. Thats just not enough races to declare him amongst the greatest. It's not like he went into Louisville the same way Spectacular Bid did, with 12 race winning streak intact. Had he done that and went down at Pimlico its a different ball game. 6 wins and only two of them grade 1 though gives no bearing on how good his future would have been.
no quesion funny cide dominated the derby n preakness...the distance was a question mark for this great horse and what is this story about Bernardini would have defeated barbaro in the preakness....that is trully comparing apples and oranges...lol..infact he bernardini was delibrately reseted for the breeders cup...and he gor destroyed by invasor...
you really think that empire maker would've beaten funny cide in the preakness? it wasn't like he won by a diminishing length huffing and puffing. nobody was going to beat him that day.
yes empire maker was very good but dont doupt funny side to much he is still a good race horse. i compare funnycide to gacomo he was good just not good enough to beat the other horses
i don't think barbaro could have beat bernardini in the preakness..like if he had stayed sound..but i think barbaro could have been a derby/belmont winner. Empire Maker could have won the triple crown if it had not been for that foot injury derby day...empire maker was just sooo good. and if it wasnt for barbaro i think bernardini could have won the triple crown...but man..the triple crown is just SO ellusive
yea..empire maker was going pretty easily when ten most wanted started to pick it up but he saw him and just went even faster.. too bad about empire maker's foot or he would have killed funny cide in the derby

omg same here...man that kentucky derby..gets horses so much attention! like would anyone besides giacomo's owners even care about giacomo or remember is name if he hadn't won the kentucky derby...? and barbaro..he would be dead now if he hadn't won the derby.

I do He beat him half the times they raced. And when he beat Cide, he killed him. Every race Cide beat him, it was close.

Yes. He had a foot problem, ran him anyways, he came in 2nd in the Derby, they skipped the Preakness, and he won the Belmont.
Honestly, I think Funny Cide is all talk no action.
