  • Looks cool, but pretty fragile.

  • It's not what you use. It is how you use it. Creatively hopefully. When synths came out, musicians thought live organic instruments will be replaced by them. Acoustic instruments are still here and always will be. Same for vinyl. There is room for both digital and analog. Creativity is what counts. Peace

  • Derrrr 1. tables are friggin heavy to move around

    2. One can lock four tracks down in seconds digitally which really allows one to do some seriously sick mixing

    3. if it's about scratching and you think you need a record...you're an idiot and you clearly haven't tried it out.

    4. ask yourself, "wouldn't it be great to be able to show up to a gig with a back pack and that's all?"

  • i must say its one sexy looking thing, but man, touch sensitive pitch slider? youv taken digital dj too far

  • hahahaha!

  • nice thing but seriously guys why spend money on that when you can get pioneer cdj for the same buck?

  • hey guys. anyone know this track???

  • Hey, this song is called Mango from Sascha Funke. It is a really nice song - I love it

  • Paul Kalkbrenner - mango

  • I'm a huge fan of midi controllers and digital DJing, and this looked mad promising, but maybe they'll come up with something solid that I can use that doesn't cost shittons of money and take up too much space. I can dream...

  • what about the stanton sc package

  • Word if you've done hands-on research, I got no problem with recanting what I've said.

  • All the reviews that I've read say that this is solid as it gets, it just looks flimsy. Do some research first.

  • Hey there Bento from DJTT here.

Sadly Serato doesnt have any midi assignment for controlling the song with a jog wheel. I believe Serato are looking at implementing this eventually but at this current stage thats you dont be able to scrub the deck with the jog wheel. You can however map the other controls on the device to things that you need.

  • does anyone know if you can record a whole set through this thing and traktor? and import it as mp3 or whatever in itunes?

  • Thats correct just read the Traktor manuals section about recording and you will be good to go :)

  • bahahhaa. touch sensitive controls.. i smell a failure product. would have been smart to at least leave an actual pitch slider...

whatever, in a few years ill be djing with my brainwaves, and i wont even need speakers :D

  • too expensive/dirtable/breakable surface. I don't like the pitch in that way too. deck selector is useful only if u are using software that support 4 decks using 2 real otus...mixing with just one always switching with that button suck worst than using hercules dj console

  • Looks pretty damn cool

  • Track: Sascha Funke "Mango"

  • anyone know if its going to be compatible with VDJ?

  • Hi, I hate it when people ask this, but what track is that in the video? It's really nice!

  • with the laptop being in the game now it allows me to bring every song i own 2 a gig and not just the up to date records and a crate of oldies witch is cool since i started using torq and it allows me 2 focus on the mix more cause once i get it on beat dont have 2 keep checking i can start working on the next song feel free to comment on what i said (true / false) ???

  • The turntable will become a musical instrument only in the near future. Remember the computer is just now hitting the dj mainstream. Soon djs will be playing 4-8 decks at once. The computer will be allowing them to be synced up all at once, and while you vinyl purists are crying foul, on the fly remixes will be made in the club, right in your face. Don't ever say tech diminishes the music. Tech is raising the bar, and the future looks brilliant!

  • they are runnig to mhuc killing vynils now even cd's cause cdj like the dn-hs5500 has only an optional cd-rom(plays only cds no mp3).being based on harddrives and laptops.calm down.

  • Urghhhhh!!!! Still Trying do destroy vinyl??

What a joke. No disrespect, but my goodness, this dj art form is getting worse and worse, NOT BETTER.......This device is not for me. Serato is close, but not like vinyl.

  • How are people dis-respecting the history of djing by advancing it further? Almost EVERY pro dj you talk to that uses Serato will tell you it SAVED their dj career.

  • DJs take themselves too seriously. Write your own music and play it on this technology and then talk shit. Vinyl was awesome. It's dying and you purists think your spastic scratching skills are so supreme. Grow up

  • word

  • @wowtothewow You're scared, worried, and in denial that there are and will be thousands of others better at DJ'ing than you because you choose to remain ignorant about the technological advancements of DJ'ing and stick with your vinyl. Go ahead and spin your vinyl in your bedroom or garage, NO ONE CARES.

  • I need this! This would be perfect for traktor!

  • I want one !

  • This is not a CD deck. its midi. Its not trying to be the turntable. You want to play with a turntable, play with one- other people are looking into other options.

  • So if it doesn't emulate a turntable, what exactly does it do? It's a midi turntable that doesn't spin.

  • this is so incredibly close-minded. people can mix and scratch on cds and midi controllers just fine, with better versatility than vinyl. why criticize? is this a manhood thing or what?

  • No, it's a tradition thing. People keep putting out trinkets like this to replace turntables and it pisses me off. Your not seeing the big picture for the future. The more ipod jog wheel midi bullshit you put out, the easier it makes it for anyone without a musical feel to pretend like they're making music. In turn skills will diminish as well as respect for the genre. Soon people will stop using real instruments and just play songs via ipods and guitar hero. Simplicity breeds lack of skill.

  • mixing on a computer does make things a little easier, but it does not make it easy by any means - ive heard some INCREDIBLY poor examples of mixing using digital software and controllers (theres a couple on youtube). you still need to know the basics to make a good mix. vinyl is always gonna have its place no matter, whether normal or emulated (timecoded stuff).

  • It was probably a bad mix because it wasn't on key. You have to be able to hear sour notes and the typical person can't. Very few mix dj's actually do original stuff also. Most is just a carbon copy of their favorite mix dj. That is exactly why I don't listen to many mix dj's. The only thing that gets my attention anymore is when someone is making music with a table.

  • either way mate, you're reinforcing my point. and it's a lot worse than just notes being off, now and again u can get away with that. im talking not even BEATMATCHED. i heard that in a club once....that came close to being an early night for me.

with computers, u can make mixes that you could never do with vinyl alone, so pay the ppl with no skill no attention and just embrace it.

  • Beatmatching is very rudimentary, but being off key is never excusable either. You can't get away with that, EVER!

  • These "trinkets" are not meant to replace turntables. if you like turntables- use them. They are meant to create new possibilities and more creative ways to manipulate music. They use interfaces that sometimes look like turntables because thats a feeling that people can relate to. No matter what gear you use- there are those with inspiration and those without. Judge the performer, not the gear.

  • One plays records instead of a shitload of instruments simultaneously because it's easier. If one then choose to mix with a midi controller instead of a turntable, it's just making it even simpler. It's not like noone plays instruments anymore because some clever dude invented records, and people won't stop mixing on turntables just because the possibility to use midi controllers exists.

Also, making it easier for people to realize their musical visions is not in any way a bad thing.

  • Traditionally, turntables were only meant to play records. Eventually, people broke so called "traditions" and found creative ways to use the turntables. Turntables are now considered musical instruments and those who play records on them are recognized as musicians. Lack of creativity, innovation, and courage is what we should be worried about. Music is meant to be evolving; in this age of musical R/evolution, new skills emerge rather than diminish. Have more faith in people, my friend.

  • Mprint sounds like my grandpa...

  • Well then your grandpa must be a cool dude.

  • too bad i cant afford tables and dont have a store that sells vynils close by. what do you expect me to do? and please dont suggest i dont have any musical talent and i should just spectate the dj world. i would really like to become involved (after producing for 4 years, it would be nice to try some live mixing)

  • "Real dj's use tables, not toys."

Someone quick, let Sasha, Tiesto, and Hawtin know! Mprint has spoken!

Mprint, it is clear you don't work as a DJ. If you did you would have realized the immense creative possibilities that digital decks allow.

  • Nice

  • XP10s were great, but with their defects...

    This looks good! :-)
