  • Theres nothing more manouverable then this little "knutschkugel" fully forged Rotorhead.... and a true Loop possible and standard and no tipping of at the zenit of a loop. At the time of appearence this little f*** kicked ass.. and it still does... its a nitty gritty little girl with 6 fists full of fun (HOTs) though its being replaced by the Eurocopter Tiger

  • mid 1960, a bit embarrasing to say that we still use them in Sweden.

  • @blidderbla

Afaik its still one of the main ground troops support and anti-tank helicopter in the German Air Force (Luftwaffe), replacement by the EC665 takes its time...

However, it is still one of the most agile and reliable helicopters in the world, so I wouldn't say it's embarrassing.

Btw, it had went on market 1970 (only had its first flight in '67).

  • @heckiii there's no war in sight so !! no need to rush

  • @blidderbla Well if it isn't broken don't fix it right? The US Cobra helicopter is from that time too right? And still in use today.. In fact a lot of weapons from that time are still in use.

  • @blidderbla they are better then anything we have in Canada

  • I love this helicopter, I wish us Brits would use it in the place of the Gazelle even though they have different roles, would be great

  • nope mate i bet you can simply mount off the 6 missiles. btw german heer flight service uses bo 105 as well as the allouette/gazelle (idk which one but one of those2)

  • WOW!

  • One of the best machines ever made!!!

  • pretty good piloting there.

    krasses teil...

  • How does it compare against the MD 500???

  • I'd like to know that as well, I don't see why the MD couldn't do the same exact thing.

  • I'm not sure, but i think AH-6 has a less advanced rotor system, making it unable to do such fast maneuvers or loopings and rolls as Bo-105 does.

That's why bo-105 is a real star on every german airshow and also the redbull's "Supercopter"

  • @DobermansRock The 105 is the most maneuverable chopper there is.

  • Sorry I think I have to differ with you on that. The MD 500 and its newer variants can run circles around this bird.

Also the new Blackhawks I am building would suprise the masses.

  • @DobermansRock I'd be surprised if anything could run rings or even close around the Bolkow, if anything the Lynx might be more manoeuvrable but the MD500? No chance

  • We visited the base where the Bo 105s are. My School in Nuremberg organized a Tour to te 26 th. Heeresfliegerstadffel in Roth. The Bundeswehr is planing to replace the B0 105s with the Tiger attack helicopter next year. They even are building new hangars and simulation buildings there but they are thinking about to keep the 105s a bilt longer as reconnaissance helicopters. I hope my English was correctly

  • oh, no, hy-block light...

  • I's an old machine but still working good. How old is this documentary? It looks like the 60s.

  • very good video"!

  • I wish that 21st Century Toy make this helicopter.

  • That is one hell of a pilot to be flying in the middle of those West German forests. And the west's heavy mix of anti tank weapons makes sense when you see how many tanks the Soviets had. Thanks for uploading this.

  • Where can I get a download, so I can convert it to PSP format? thanks!

  • great documentary, thanks for uploading!
