I am not being a smart alack, but I would think they also have cancers healed and many miracles besides just the snake handling, I am in need of a healing and I believe if I had faith to take up a "serpant" that I would also have faith to be healed. I have never encountered these people before, but being from South Carolina, I have heard of the practice of Snake Handling being done in North Carolina and Tennessee and other Appalachian States.
The practice is taken from a WAY TOO literal meaning of a verse (mentioned in the video) and the belief that if you are blessed, the serpents will not strike you.
The Bible also quotes Jesus as saying do not put God to the test. Meaning you need not have to test your faith to prove you have it.
