And i have seen people put bad shots on deer using a 300 and end up with a lost deer including does. Like i said more power is no substitute for shot placement.

@joshua12345j Berger makes a hunting VLD, and they work very good on game. I use them on deer from 300 to 400 yrds in my .243. Bergers VLD'S are not just for paper. I have a vid, of myself shooting a deer at 450 with a 95 gr. berger VLD. If you still need more proof, the guys at best of the west use 168 gr. VLD's in 7 mag on elk to 1000 yards. I know all about what rifles like most, has to do alot with the twist rate of your barrel. Berger recomends certain twist rates to stablize their bullets.

Its all about shot placement, i have seen friends shoot deer with a 300 mag and they get away, more power is no substitute for shot placement. @joshua12345j Because they work as long as you stay away from shoulder, who said anything about being recoil sensetive. I use slug guns with magnum 3 inch shells. You do know massive recoil in a light rifle does effect accuracy or muzzle flip. The .204 is packing way more energy and much much flatter than a .223, theonly .223 that matches it is the .223 wssm. So far i have lost 0 using the .204 out to 240 yrds i might add, yes shot placement is key....and yes i will keep using the .204 lol.

I have that rifle with a nikon buckmaster 3-9x40. It drills tacks better than rem 700.
The first thing I did was replace that HORRIBLE stock. It's no good for shooting prone.
