Happy (?) memories of the 'Pile' from many years ago. I suspect that little has changed in 30 years. This video is very funny and only those who have frequently travelled from Ryde to Portsmouth will fully understand it. Someone once described Ryde as having 'fading Victorian charm' (one can describe many of the Island seaside resorts in the same way) and I suspect little has changed in that regards either. I am pleased that Wightlink have responded positively to the video.
Hello there, I work in customer services at Wightlink Ferries (Yes we see the funny side occasionally - a friendly customer linked me to this to make me laugh). If anyone would like to have their comments raised, or at least noted and responded to, you can contact us at Feedback@wightlink.co.uk. German accents and fake moustaches may get caught up in the poor taste spam filter, but if not we usually respond in 10 working days.
This never change, there were problems with the ferries 30 years ago or more, so much so Laurie Say and the Islanders used to sing about it! To quote one song about the hovercraft SRN1 "You can hear the bloody thing at Totland Bay"! Brilliant bit of editing!

This parody speaks to my life! Can't seem to go that long without something new messing up the ferries.

Perfect as is - very, very funny and painfully close to the mark. Wonder if Wightlink will see the humour.....
