@OutDoorsExpertiece Yeah, beluga sturgeon can reach well over 20' in length. One of my (many) fish keeping dreams is to some day own the 500,000 gallon tank it would take to house a monster like that, although for now the most I can afford is a 225 gallon. : )
My oscar tried to eat my two way magnet, I do what he does with the bottle brush thing, I jst tap mine when he tries to bite me and swims around the tank continuously a couple of times lol he makes me laugh!

im guessing that oscar hasn't moved tanks, or at least for a very long time. have a 13" in a 100 deep tank, and my dad turned the lights on in his tighty whities one day and oscar jumped out of the tank into a cardboard box...

my cichlids used to do that when i was cleaning. its so funny. haha lol. they died this week. oh, and i have a plecostomus that lets me pet him. (hes 8 inches long). funny video btw.

@dumbmp3 Define good care.. Guppies should be able to live a couple years. You are doing something wrong.
At any rate, different fish species have different lifespans. Guppies and oscars are no more related than sparrows and eagles. Oscars really can live that long.

@mkh4n The tank was next to a window on the sunny side of my apartment with no blinds at the time. This happens in 2-3 days during severe algae attacks.

@dumbmp3 Tortoise and Turtles live for well over 200 years. Some species of jellyfish can live forever. Theres even records of sea sponges living for 2000 years. Humans aren't always the top organism.

@dumbmp3 The average life expectancy for a healthy oscar is about 15 years. Most fish that are capable of growing to over 12" can live quite a long time if the are well cared for, the reason they hardly ever do is because there are very few people who give them the proper care they deserve.

@OutDoorsExpertiece Yeah, beluga sturgeon can reach well over 20' in length. One of my (many) fish keeping dreams is to some day own the 500,000 gallon tank it would take to house a monster like that, although for now the most I can afford is a 225 gallon. : )

i love fish. however, these oscars and most other fish of any size are pretty ruthless. fish are usually carnivorous. if u could fit in his mouth, he would kill u. compassion and loyalty are traits u may find in a dog. don't count on it with fish.
enjoy these beautiful creatures for what they r. don't personalize them. just my opinion.

im guessing that oscar hasn't moved tanks, or at least for a very long time. have a 13" in a 100 deep tank, and my dad turned the lights on in his tighty whities one day and oscar jumped out of the tank into a cardboard box...

Lovely fish, but your tank shouldn't be getting that dirty. I'd invest in a better filtration system. Even overcompensate, maybe. Check your balance. New vids. would be awesome!

Lol i feel bad for anybody that follows advice from the comments on youtube. I actually read all 114 texts. I have "learned" .....
1. 20% water change is good and sometimes bad
2. If i have algae, i should buy 3 plecos.
3. cleaning the glass stresses the fish out.
4. I should take my fish out every time i clean
5. Lateral line erosion is the same as hole in the head.
6. Tank size should be...well....that doesn't matter cuz everyone will complain anyway.
