  • She looks so much healthier and happier here than when she was a young, 16-year-old druggie. Not to mention she looks really pretty. Cherie's my least favorite member of The Runaways, but I gotta give her kudos for getting off of drugs and fixing her life. Her book is amazing. That "movie" did NOT base it off of it. The movie wasn't accurate with several things. Anyway, three cheers for Cherie :)

  • I like the shot of Sandy at the beginning :)

  • 2:30 her reaction to joan jett's name!! doesn't look at all happy!

  • Im glad Cherie finally overcame her drug addiction. :) Altho she was great in The Runaways!!

  • "you're 15, wearing a push up bra". wtf? she never used a push up in the runaways, not that I can remember

  • @BDMovieClips the song's called school days

  • the audience are a bunch of dry shites

  • What was the name of the song at the very beginning that Joan was singing?

  • she never looked better!

  • Her book came out like in 1989, so its most likely this is her book press tour.

  • Is Kim the "authority figure"?

  • @pixelated111 - Yes. She probably declines to name him directly in order to avoid giving him any publicity, and to avoid a slander lawsuit since he's a money-hungry POS.

  • What year was this interview?

  • Some verrrrry insigthful and honest info here. Thanks for posting these interviews!!

    xo Joannie H. (IDAHO)

  • GOD I LOVE HER!

  • kickass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i'm so amazed and happy that she ended up healthy

  • I have always loved Cherie Currie & Joan Jett even today they are still awesome!!!

  • if you play that image long enough, you become that image.

    yeah,very true!

  • I love when she laughs after the woman says ''Cherry''.

  • She looks so different

  • haha the man in authority was kim fowley xD

  • what was this song at the beginning !

  • I love you Cherie! :)

  • "Former teen rock star and coke queen"

    Gotta love that caption!

  • She is really amazing, the fact she turned her life around after going through what she did.

And holy shit, look at Sally Jessy Raphael, hahaha.

  • Good reality check. Great music real messed up side effects.

  • I love how on the religious show, the first thing the guy asks about is sex. Jesus Perv!

  • WTF?!She had an amazing voice!!!!!Better than that Dakota Fanning chick.

  • I love Cherie. I'm so glad she got away from all that crap (drugs). She is a very strong woman.

  • she's a strong woman! i know what she did was terrible and in the vidio we see that and now after almost 30 years later. she's still souber and strong. i think this is a woman people should look up to. My faourite Runaway is still Joan though but i idmire Chrie a lot. C:

  • Exactly, she could not even sing, they fell apart cause there was not anything to hold them together. She is silly.

  • what year were these interviews?

  • Jeez...this is some pretty deep and dark stuff to be discussing on a youtube video. I just wanted to say she looks really good here. I love her hair like this. So pretty... Ok you can resume...

  • Bunch of dykes

  • @agenthelios1 Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I also charmed the pants off of over a thousand different beautiful woman. Sort of like how the Runaways manager had sex with all but one of the girls in this band. Therefore even if they were dyke's that would be their experiences.

Me, a philosopher. Someone that thinks deeply. A calm rational self-assured person.

You, a redneck. A bitter self-hating miserable soul that projects outward resenting judgments upon others. Welcome to hell.

  • @SpiralsHappen Yeh, you really pinned me on that one (sarcasm) Bottom line, I am a successful guy and I can tell you I am NOT miserable, I am well liked and am active in animal charities, so I think you are angry at your wasted drugged up life and when you see guys like me its a constant reminder of how much of a loser you are in comparison.

  • Natural intoxicates exist on this earth for a reason. Allowing man to alter consciousness. Alcohol is referred to as spirits because one can become spirited. Many ancient spiritual rituals included responsible drug or alcohol taking to heighten one consciousness. To experience multidimensional universal oneness and escape the illusion finite material duality of earth. Unfortunately today people do not have proper guidance to navigate through materialistic trappings. Some get hooked then booked.

  • fuck you KIM FOWLEY

  • Comment removed

  • she has similar voice to alyssa milano ;d

  • women with balls, gotta love it...too bad about the drugs though....

  • Just too bad about the drugs. Her career would have gone so much further. The music and performing on stage all over the world should have been more than enough high.

  • She's beautiful.

  • She is an amazing person! She has the most vital viewpoints for musicians to take into account regarding the music business.

  • Okay, why did she leave the Runaways? It seems her career didn't do as well as Joan or Lita. I mean, beauty is only skin deep.

  • Yep she's a purty one. How old is she here in this clip?

  • @rrhone This was the early to mid '80's as they mention Madonna in here and the movie Foxes which Cherie Currie did in 1980 which means whe was at least 21 years old.

  • Lol now the popular kids do drugs and the misfits don't

  • @1goodmanyourself2 I thought both groups do now? I think...at least...lol, I should know as I am 17

  • She always maintained her good looks.

  • I would lick Cherie all over! HOT!!!!

  • @Dream3r10 She was way before Lady Gaga, and IMHO has a much better voice.

  • Cherie is amazing! I'm 16 and I completely idolize her! She's been through so much (even some stuff that I can relate to) and she's still an amazing person. I'd give anything to meet her!

  • wtf is a coke queen??

  • @Moonserpent9 Cocaine.

  • @Dream3r10 please dont compare them. nast.

  • @devilsova 15 and 16...no joke.

  • The story at 3:00 - FUCKED.

  • I didn't even realize that is was cherie

  • 7:57 shes talking about Kim Fowley

  • Who is the girl at 0:12 ?

  • Comment removed

  • @HansBeimler I think it is Vicki Blue.

  • I can't help but wonder where Cherie's parents were.

  • @musclecars60

her dad was an alcoholic and her mom was in indonesia. I just finished her autobiography :P She really didnt have anyone to look out for her

  • @musclecars60 Mom was a socialite who was never home, Dad was an alchoholic and absent much of the time.

  • I'm sorry, but I HATE Joan's eyebrows. I love Joan, though

  • who old r she in this time ?? maybe 33?

  • god! i love her but hate her for quitting the runaways! she was freaking awesome now she's pretty lame.

  • coke queen? really?

  • Does anyone know approx what year this interview with Cherie and Steve Edwards and Cristina Ferrare was? I'm thinking early '90's?

  • Both Joan and Cherie are today both gorgeous women in their 50's. They both sound great too now. I'm glad they didn't go down the wrong road like Sandy West.

  • Cherie Currie is sooooooooooo cute here...

    CUTTEST GIRL IN THE WORLD!

    Like a cat from Japan...

That's the Real Prettiest Beautiful Women Who Walked in Earth.

  • angel..she's an angel!

  • there was no older sister and younger brother in movie wth.

  • im glad she found the rite path:)

  • wow.

  • shes so pretty

  • cherie looks so beautiful and charismatic <3

what song is joan singing at the beginning? D:

  • @Cantild3x 'School Days'- it's on 'Waiting For The Night'.

  • wow! she seems so grounded. i just saw the runaways and it was very good

  • I hope we all know that the "person of authority" who forced the band members to watch him engage in sex with a young girl was Kim Fowley...? And that's pretty scary, huh?

  • shes a neon angle

  • that was an awesome interview.

  • She looks gorgeous in the last interview.

  • its so good to see her healthy and clean and happy. omg kim fowley is absolutely disgusting. how was he not arrested a long time ago.

  • frickin love the runaways and joan jett yaaa!!!!!!

  • well it had been joan jetts idea to start an all girll rock band along with thee drummer. im pretty sure anyways

  • What a talented beauty. Cherie is an angel.

  • Lol she keeps referring to a "certain person" in authority...KIM FOWLEY, we all know the deprived freak he is!

  • @NOcomunismo92 Thumbs up for depraved rather than deprived.

  • @NOcomunismo92 haha! we all know shes talking about the king hysteria himself...lol.

  • Wow, it's so much worse than what they show in the movie.

  • She seems so sweet here compared to what she did with the Runaways! It's so wierd!

  • I don't like the older interveiwer. She made it seem like Cherie's life back then was ALL bad, and it wasn't. i mean come on "trip to hell?" "former rock star turned coke queen" "soon turned into a nightmare" ??? They made great music and cherie made life long friends, just because drugs got involved cancels all that out?

  • @iCatey If you read Cherie Currie's book, she explains how after the Runaways she really didn't talk to any of the girls for quite some time and downspiraled into a very, very hard addiction to cocaine and crack cocaine. She was also raped multiple times and tortured during one of those occurrences.

  • when she was talking about the "sex show" It was Kim obviously. I read the book and she was describing everything, I was very grossed out myself

  • I lovee her!! <3 im gald she is healthy and is helping people now.

  • I won't mention his name.... 7:57. Uhmmm, let me think. Fim Fowley.

  • Her biggest gift is she is passing along the msg and she is strong enough

to still alive what a rockstar!

  • {hahah the interveiwer wit blond hair talks about rock music lyk if its the devil xD hahah}

  • She was and IS by far the cutest!

  • she's very eloquent and well spoken

  • She sounds like a dick.

  • She says she had wonderful parents.,. in the movie her dad was portrayed as an alcoholic? Was he really an alcoholic?

  • @BWentz55 yes he was but, that doesnt mean he was a bad parent, i read her book and it seems he was a loving father who happened to be an alcoholic

  • @BWentz55 that doesn't mean they wern't wonderful...

  • she's so amazing!

  • post or pre interviews?

  • how old was she in these clips?

  • what year was this filmed?

  • the runaways was actually formed by joan jett. it was her idea but she consulted kim fowley to be the manager of this all-girl rock band

  • Yeah, I used to hang around the same underage disco. It was called The Sugar Shack, in North Hollywood. Good times, man good times. I remember her and her sister, but they probably didn't even notice me.

  • Yeah, I used to hang around the same underage disco. It was called The Sugar Shack, in North Hollywood. Good times, man good times. I remember her and her sister, but they probably didn't even notice me.

  • It is good to see that she is doing so well now. Although these are very dated interviews, obviously. Is there any newer information on her these days?

@agentthelios1 it is true that those of you who haven't ever done the stuff she or others did, I agree wholeheartedly with @ncwdane, that God rejoices not only in those who are walking right, but rejoices when one of those were lost and are now found.

  • magnifique!

    ♥

  • was the under 21 Bar the starlight ballroom ???

    on Goldenwest & westminster....

  • WOW a drug counselor....Its so annoying when a drug addict (self inflicted problem) is clean for a year or 5, whatever and then they get praised for being "DRUG FREE"

What about those of us that werent stupid enough to do drugs to begin with.

  • @agenthelios1 Not Praised....

But like w/ the prodigal son,

there was rejoicing over the one that was Lost & Then found,

theirs More rejoicing in heaven over one sinner that repents,

than 99 that didnt need to...

the son that was always good was praised

but they still killed the fatted calf & celebrated

for the son that was stupid & blew his inheratance,

    but came to his senses

  • @agenthelios1 Um, you have the privilege of not having a life long addiction. What do you want? A cookie?

  • @skipp10467 Priveilege? its called being responsible and not an idiot. She created her own problems (addiction, no one forced coke in her nose)

I dont want a cookie, but when addicts say "Ive been clean for 2 years" it seems like they want a cookie and a pat on the back.

  • @agenthelios1 you haven't a clue what you're talking about. Please be decent enough to stay out of that subject. Don't go there please, for lots of ppls sake. Thank you.

  • @agenthelios1 Whenever a family unit has the level of dysfunction that Cherie's family had it is very easy to succumb to the feeling canceling effects that drugs and alcohol provide. Addiction can be more profound.

I am referring to people that are more prone to being sensitive. People that genuinely love their family and cannot bear to see such unhappiness and suffering of those that they care about.

I hate it when people that are not sensitive judge others for being so.

  • @SpiralsHappen My family is complete loser shit and teated me horiible growing u and they were poor on top of that. I had it rough, but I didnt use that as an excuse to use drugs.

It seems to me a lot (if not all) of her "problems" she had were self inflicted (drug use), no one forced drugs in her body. I hate hearing stories of revering addicts and everyone claps and throws a parade for them...when they chose to start using.

  • @agenthelios1 Lucky u, they treated u like shit. What more incentive did u need not to mask profound feelings of love and admiration. If u despised your family for being such loser shit as u say, then why mourn them with drugs and alcohol. Like a majestic mighty oak tree wrapped in sub zero snow, your hardship only made you stronger and more determined to embrace your overall life resolve. We should all have been so lucky to have lived in your shoes and had your same exact experiences.

  • @SpiralsHappen Im not saying I was lucky, in fact was rather unlucky, what I am saying is that everyone has a "Boo hoo, poor me" story, but not all of us are so weak and pathetic that we start using drugs. On top of that everyone seems to love and throw parades for supposed "revovering" drug addict scum.

I am a strong believer in adversity building strength and resolve, who throws people like me a parade...no one, why...because people like me dont need parades to march on.

  • @SpiralsHappen Alsoits people like yu who hate to see someone go through as much crap as I did ad come out notopnly unscathed, but better.

You love and an relate to drug use, abuse, and basically being a degenerate. We all have problems, except not all of us are bitch ass babies who have to go use drugs.

  • Reality is for those that cannot cope with drugs. I saw that on a t-shirt once lol. I have used lots of alcohol, lots of pot, lots of coke, lots of crack, lots of meth, some acid, some mushrooms, X, speed pills, heroin, hash, hash oil, Thai stick, and opium. The whole time I always used organic health foods and weight lifting / exercise. World class snowboarder, skier, wind surfer etc. Ultimately I self-studied macrobiotics and know I am a fragment of God. Experience everything you need.

  • LMAO @ the subtitles "beautiful rockstar turned cock queen" LMAO

  • @Elektrikkiss it actually said coke queen, not cock queen. lol

  • Wait a minute....I thought her dad was a pos alcoholic who was never around, and her mom was a selfish actress who was also never around and left Cherie and Marie for her new boyfriend?

  • she's so pretty.

  • @BrittanyBlitz

    Good point.

  • Sandy was first before Joan.

  • "Former teen rock star turned coke queen", sounds like a little too much dontcha think?

  • @SIatanica i completley agree

  • @SIatanica It's way too much.

  • i jus t saw the movie man... fucking awesome..

  • @TheCuboOne Yeah, movie was really good. But her book is fucking amazing. I was just blown away. I still hope that one day they do a movie that was based more on her book. The film makers used their poetic license a little too much in the movie, IMO. Don't know why they felt the need to change so much stuff when the real story was just as entertaining. Still loved the film though.

  • i love that she takes guilt, and that she speaks about it and creeps everyone out! lol love her

  • She's so honest. Takes responsibility for her drug taking. Good on her. Makes a difference from all the famous people blaming everyone else for it. Glad that she came out on a note, bless her. I love her. Loved her in the runaways. Love her now.

  • trip to hell

  • I love how she says "A person in authority." Yet you know it's Kim Fowley haha cute Cherie!

  • Sally Jessie was "Jail-bait" once. Think about that for a while (gag).

  • I just watched the movie The Runaways (Dakota and Kristen are awesome!) and I find it amazing that this old footage is on youtube. Wow, I remember Sally Jessie from when I was a kid. Amazing that after all these years something has survived. Thanks for posting.

  • wow she really is awesome :)

  • She talks about the sex-watching incident in her book.

  • See her face drop as she said the band was founded by joan?

The band was really founded by kim fowley, wasnt it?

  • @w0bbl3r The supprised look was because the lady called her Cherry, instead of Cherie, then the guy corrected her. The true founders of the band was Joan Jett and Sandy West, Kim was just there to coordinate everything.

  • @L7JETT no her face fell before the lady called her cherry... just sayin but i think cherie currie is awesome!

  • @L7JETT her face falls before the lady calls her Cherry

  • @L7JETT She called her Cherry after she said it was found by Joan Jett. I think that it just brought back memories when she heard the interviewer say that. She actually smirked when she was called Cherry haha

  • @L7JETT her face dropped before she said Cherry. She smiled when she said Cherry.

  • @w0bbl3r Yeah the girl said Cherry, instead of Cherie. Plus she probably still missed Joan after they broke up.

  • @MioneRiddle1926 She definitely missed Joan but only as a close friend. Though her and Joan made out, it was just something that happened. Just something that was down the road.

  • @w0bbl3r actually it was by joan jett becuase joan was the one that walked up to kim and asked him if he could help start a all girls band...watch the movie

  • @notmeusually1 I watched the movie but I dont just assume something is true just because its in a movie.

There is a big reason that lita wouldnt have anything to do with it; because its mostly bullshit.

And while Joan might have been the one to pester Kim, he basically took the reins and got the rest of the band together.

It even says in this vid they were overmanipulated. It certainly wasnt Joan who did that, it was Kim, who was the manager. He managed them, which means he ran them

  • She's so pretty.

  • @w0bbl3r right after that they also call her "Cherry" and you can see Cherie's eyebrow move.

  • @w0bbl3r

No, the band already existed prior to Cherrie. It was Kim's idea to introduce Cherrie to the band.

Joan Jett also wrote all the songs for the runaways.

Joan was the artist, Cherrie was simply the vocalist.

  • @KarlPilkingtonFan True. But motley crue were formed before vince neil, and he had little to nothing to do with the songwriting, but they were nothing until they had that top frontman.

Yes, songwriting is huge talent, and you need little to no talent to be able to sing, thats just a correct alignment of vocal cords, but being a top front... person or whatever... that is something you either have or you dont, and currie had it. Thats why the runaways sucked after she left.

  • @w0bbl3r

    Fair point.

  • @w0bbl3r great point, totally agree

  • @w0bbl3r It was founded my Joan Jett and Sandy West.

  • ''Former teen rock star turned coke queen'' What the eff? I think that was disrespectful to Cherie, they could have writen something else.

  • awww...she turned out so sweet & classy. Amazing

  • Nice to see this after watching the movie. . I thought the movie was good even thought the critics trashed it.

  • The opportunity to be a rock star literally just fell in her lap.

  • Love when Sally implied that it was drugs that "forced" her to dress in the corset and stockings. She would've dressed like that anyways! HAHA Take that SALLY!

  • kim fowley can suck a dog dick and eat dog shit hahahaha

  • she sounds very humble in their interview....she seems a little more cocky in edgeplay when older.

  • what a kool chick!

  • Anyone know who these other guys are at 5:01? They dude on the right looks hilarious!

  • this broad is fuckin awesome!

  • love how she's so open about things. glad she got clean & realised what she was doing wrong. She's also amazing for not blaming anyone. I don't think i could do that
