If your talking about T-mobile with a data plan, no. It should be unlimited data, btw check w/ them tho ($25 data plan is unlimited). I DO know If your using AT&T without a internet plan then yes.

Yes, but there are certain settings you have to input into it under the network settings. Just call the T-Mobile people that's what I did they don't care they dont make the phone so just call customer service and ask them to send you the settings for the iphone and they will txt them to you and then it should work. Hope this helps! If you don't want to call for the settings just search google for "iPhone T-Mobile APN Settings."

Nope! I did this tonight actually, they don't care because they don't manufacture the phone so they are only gaining money from you switching plans. They even gave me a link to an application that sends MMS on the iPhone and gave me settings for it, and the iPhone isn't even supposed to text haha and the app was a jailbroken one. Don't worry they even have settings for the iPhone they will send you, just don't worry about it.

I used T-Mobile on my iphone 2g for a year. I finally moved to ATT, Better network more coverage. Plus I was tired to hacking the phone. Only thing is ATT plans for gophones(pay as you go) SUCK.

yes, you can have the internet. Use a wifi, or else get an unlimited data plan from your current phone company. Call the customer service and ask what the addresses are for the data plan. or else google '(your provider) data plan on iphone' and look what you have to put in for the VPN and how to do it. This is important: MAKE SURE YOU get the unlimited plan. If you don't, you'll get charged outrageous rates per Kb or Mb.

is it the sidekick plan? if so, you won't be able to use that with the iphone. as far as i know, you can only use t-mobile's regular internet plans and the blackberry plan.

no, not kilobytes. It's kilobits. It's a scam they do to make you think you're getting a higher download speed.

150 kbps is what you get. NOT 150 Kbps.

eight kilobits is equal to about 1 kiloBYTE.

Kilobyte is the download speed we go by in real life. So, the 150 kilobit speed that you get is really only about 19 kilobytes per second. A lot less than the 150 kilobytes you expected to receive, ya? Just like companies that promise you 1.5 mbs (which is more like 300 K).

Bits is almost always used for streaming information, such as audio, video or network speed. That's why your 128 kbps MP3 takes up 3 MB and not 23 MB.

Ah, touche. I totally messed up on the KBps and Kbps thing. But regarding the speed denotation, I just mean that it's more or less a trick that they do. Most users in real life care about megabytes, not megabits. I mean, when was the last time you expressed the size of a file in megabits? Even the reps of the companies get confused. A rep flat out said that I'll get 1 megabyte download speeds, and I was like... "megabit or megabyte?"

The $5.99 will not be useful for what I have in mind.

I use a website where I make a pretty decent amount of money every day (like $15 a day, which is about an extra $300 a month. Not enough to be rich, but hey, it's something).

Only problem is that it requires a beefy phone, browser and connection. Unfortunately, the $5.99 plan is far too weak for what I need to use. The $20 should barely be able to run it.

Also, I'm going to tether the phone to my PC via bluetooth as a wireless modem.
