@essonet i love how liberals look at the great depression and think that Keynesian policy was a success when it took ten years of a horrible economy and the second bloodiest war in world history before economic growth started again.
Why are teabaggers so in love with Ronald Reagan? He's totally unlike them. Ronald Reagan raised taxes 11 times, gave amnesty to illegal aliens, tripled the debt, had Reaganomics & "trickle down" effect that didn't work, never worked & will never work, left office with the BIGGEST national debt & deficit in history & was involved in the Iran Conta scandal. Ronald Reagan may talk like a Republican but he governs like a Democrat. Ronald Reagan is a RINO

@vinojew I love this myth that people work for the rich. They don't. They work for companies. Organization. Very few people actually work for rich individuals. I don't work for my CEO or President. I work for my company. Huge difference. And we've been shipping jobs to China a lot longer than Obama.
All your views need to do their own research... becasue if you dont understand the free market system you cant talk about any of this. Free market there are ups and downs.. we are in a down eith no need to jump ship... seems like America has done well since 1787. ill continue to debate this with anyone. just come with facts guys. there are no concrete facts here. But lies that some believe. The best thing as citizens is to not be so sure of anyone and research. esp a talking head or politician
Im sorry but i dont see where rush was punked... all i here is talking in circles... i actually see mark as the punk when he claimed there were tax cuts but wasnt prepared with facts to say where they were or how many people recieved them. If yall did research only a very small portions of buisnesses even qualified to get the credit. hire an employee 2 g a month and get a 500 dollar year tax cut... no sense,,
I like the saying you are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts. This is the major problem in today's political atmosphere, we talk past each other rather than to. Can anyone guess who has the wrong facts? Well each person should research that for themselves.
I don't believe that building roads or repairing bridges will do much to help as far as helping the economy due to these companies are few and they already have most of the employees they have always had and the few they hire will work until the contract is done then back out of work again. I am all for these repairs and I agree they should be done at once. I think the real money should be put into the hands of those that will spend it and will actually start businesses that create long term jbs
Mike Stark? What a dufus. Does Stark have an audience other than when he manages to get through to the Rush Limbaugh show? Rush gives him an education. Rush spelled it out for him, but Stark can't read. Stark on Air America, "I'm Barney Franks boy friend.
@envisageworks How'd Bush and the pubs do on Job Creation? When Obama took office we were losing 750k jobs a month! The Tax cuts didn't work! When were they supposed to start working? We tried the tax cuts and IT HASN"T WORKED What don't you Republican reatards not get about that?
The government doesn't create didly squat? So the space shuttle roads bridges GPS and communication satelites don't exist? Nobody works doing those things?
@sinistar99 I'm not claiming that Republicans CAN create jobs. They can't either. No matter who is running the government, job creation is not the government's business. I target you liberals because you threaten the only thing that CAN create jobs: the 'free' market.
And NASA is GREAT, but our tax dollars are HARDLY funding space exploration and development. The government is spending our money on ridiculous wars, and unproductive social benefits, and damaging stimulus packages.
I like the pictures of Rush Sam chose, Sam and Newsweek are on the same maturity and professional level. As for government employees paying tax's and helping to stimulate the economy. it's is like giving your children an allowance then having them help pay for the mortgage and electric.
@NCAJAX No it's not. People are net producers. They innovate they do work and move things around and create economic activity. The economy isn't your closed system house with your kids.
Mike Stark rules! Its funny Limpballs didnt recognize him since he's called him so many times in the past. It's amazing Rush let him go on so long, he must have been baffled. I wonder if he'll follow Rush on is next Dominican Republic 'vacation'. Rush really deserves to be outed for the perv he is.
Its really simple, Government lives from taxes meaning If govt employee makes lets say 100 dollars and pays 20 or even 50 of it in taxes, you still have a net loss of 50, because gvt employees get payed from taxes, gvt. does not create products thus it creates no wealth, it takes it and gives it to others, economy 101
@samuils When it gives more money to others that is greater than an individuals income THEN you will have an argument. What you're confusing is that it gives lower and middle class people a larger tax break than rich people. BIG difference!!
@PoliticsILove A tax break is not given, a tax break means less taken to start with. And I am not confusing anything, considering that I was talking about salaries. All government salaries come from taxes. And that is what I was talking about, dont confuse the issues
a tax break IS GIVEN. Because a corporation operates and makes money because it has a society with roads and property rights and police (not to mention grants and subsidies) and all that costs money which the corporation or investor did not earn. So it's really not their money. When you go into the theater and they give you a ticket price break they're giving you something. Government salaries come from taxes and they buy things in the private sector and pay taxes so it all comes back.
@sinistar99 The corporation if uses those roads with vehicles pays taxes as well as licensing and everything else that goes in addition to commercial vehicles which is a lot. Also Corporations pay taxes for just about everything you have mentioned in short. Grants? that would be a very small amount and subsidies which I am 100% against. Corporations create products, gvt. creates NOTHING, only takes money away from productive sectors. Corporations create wealth, gvt. destroys it.
@samuils It's not proportionately enough. Trucks that ship products are the ONLY reason we need to resurface roads regularly. I used to work for DOT I know. Govt creates NOTHING? really? so the space program, highway system, gps satelites (which corporations make lots of money using) and countless other govt programs like the original internet and first digital computers don't exist? What world is that in? Limbaugh Land?
@samuils AND plenty of corporations create NOTHING. What do hedge fund managers create? What do health insurance companies create? They just move money around and skim a bunch off the top. They don't create very many jobs either because so much of it "trickles down" into the bank accounts of ceos and major investors. They're the ones who create NOTHING. They make money because they already had a bunch of it.
@sinistar99 They create services that other people willingly pay for, or new vehicles of investment that other people willingly pay for, unlike taxes that are taken away by force. And they create jobs doesnt matter if its 100 or 10 million. And they HAD money because they HAD other business which provided products or services that people used and bought.
@samuils Not necessarily. Tboon Pickens borrowed money bought corporations (thanks to de-regulation in teh 80s) saddled the corporation with that debt (once a profitable company now in the red). Then liqidated the corporation costing hundreds of jobs and livelihoods, took a bunch of money for himself (that he created nothing for) and did it again and again. what did Golman Sacks create that "earned" them the TARP bailouts? What did the S&Ls "create" in the 80s that "earned" them bailouts?
@samuils No it's not that simple and i doubt you've taken economy 101. Maybe you should. The part that they don't pay in taxes what happens to that hmmm? They SPEND it right here in the USA buying products and services in the private sector who create jobs and pay taxes themselves. Plus they move things around, invent things, and create which ends up being MORE than what you put in. People are net producers. What they don't do is go to the dominican Republic and get underage hookers.
@sinistar99 I dont think YOU have taken economics 101, everything that is taxed, is taken away from the private sector that creates more wealth. Public sectors doesnt create wealth at all, all it does is takes it away and gives to others. Meanwhile creates giant bureaucracies that take even more money away, eventually needing more taxes to take away from wealth creators. Why dont YOU learn some economics b4 opening you mouth with your patronizing bullshit
@TheLarryDownes True dat! Every job created by the government takes money away from the private sector. It's a total loss no matter how you look at it. It's like dipping a bucket into the deep end of the pool and pouring it into the shallow end. There is no net gain.
@SuckOnTruth " Every job created by the government takes money away from the private sector." Um... no not really. Where do you think these government employees spend their paychecks? Mars? ALL of the money going to public employees goes through the private sector creating private jobs and economic activity. The problem is you people seem to think there's a private sector AND government like they're on 2 different planets and don't contribute to each other. It's all one big thing.
@sinistar99 Um yep. See when gubmit takes people's money and redistributes it, it always keeps a bit for itself in administrative costs. Not only that, but this is what is called crony capitalism and this does not allow capitalism to be truly fleshed out. People are not allowed to spend their own money on what they desire, but the government takes the money and spends on what it decides is correct. This is not capitalism. All public money comes from private. Gov. does not create a profit.
@SuckOnTruth The Gubment prints the money in the first place. the money would not exist or have any value without the gubmit. And it doesn't "keep money for itself" It spends the money giving those adminstrators jobs and buying office supplies which create private sector jobs as well. Those administrators go out and by tvs and xboxes which make private businesses money. All the money comes back creating economic activity.
@SuckOnTruth Capitalists make money because there's a gubment to do it in. Otherwise why don't they all move to Somalia where there is no gubment? Better yet why don't you and all the Rush listeners move there! No gubmit! It should be a paradise of unrestrained capitolism! Go be free! Send me a post card from your mansion there because youre sure to be successful with no mean ole gubmit in the way taking all your money!
@TheLarryDownes Are soldiers no longer government employees? Or do you only salute Black Water mercenaries? Some industries are not suited for the private sector. That is unless you believe profit-driven corporate mercenaries like Xe (Black Water) could do a better job defending our freedom than the US Military.
@JesusChristsDick Come on let the Free market take care of everything! "Hello 9-1-1 my house is on fire" "Yes sir can you give me your group and policy number?" "What? My house is on FIRE can you send a fire truck?" "Yes sir will that be VIsa or Master Card?" That's the world Repubutards would have us live in.
@JesusChristsDick Sorry - clearly I've been away. No Soldiers are indeed government employees, however they are legitimate employees based on the appropriate role of government. Most of the the jobs "created" by government do not fall under that umbrella.
@TheLarryDownes Then qualify your statements next time. I understand that some industries operate better under the government and some operate better in the private sector, but you shouldn't speak in such flagrantly inaccurate absolutes such as "Gov CAN'T effectively create jobs." It can. We probably disagree on the "appropriate role of government," so we have to put that aside for a moment and ask, "Can the government effectively create jobs," Yes, it can.
@TheLarryDownes "Government cannot effectively create jobs. Why, because it takes 5-7 private sector jobs to support each government created job." That's not true. How many public sector jobs does it take to build the roads for the private sector guy to go to his job? And how many to make sure he gets paid? And how many to make sure nobody breaks into his house Or the thousand other things it takes to run a nice well ordered society in which "private sector" jobs can exist?
This ludicrously uniformed caller to Rush Limbaugh is am embarrassment to intelligent people in general and Liberal people specifically. Smell the roses dummy.
While Limbaugh was terribly wrong as usual, it would have been better if the caller did have sources at hand that he could cite. The last elections do show that it is not common knowledge, though it ought to be.
There is a major flaw in Mike Stark’s argument of there being no difference in taking out a student loan in order to better yourself personally and running deficits in order to make “improvements” to the country. The student makes the decision alone to take out their student loan and taxpayers are not on the hook to repay if she/he defaults. Every taxpayer is on the hook for continued US deficits.
Money quote: "You can take that money (That people use to invest in what they want to, with their own money) thats far less efficient (by whos judgement?) ... via taxes (removing private property by force of law) to "invest" in (redistribution)
Who the hell are you to determine what the best use is of other peoples money, comrade? Commies... always counting other peoples money. Mind your own business, you thieves.
@JefferyWWright The alternative is no money invested anywhere which is what you propose. Thus society will collapse under the weight of people who are all to willing to take(I am talking about the Anarchocapitalist here) but when Asked to give up their money in the form of taxes they are unwilling. Well We will see how that works when the Anarchocapitalist bring the old failure back. I remember the lessons of the dark ages and it is the same thing all over again. You can't take and not give.
@JefferyWWright You want to talk redistribution. The tax cuts for billionaires have taken the wealth from the middle class and poor and given it to greedy billioniares who don't give a dam about you and me you stupid idiot. Reagon, HW, and W all created defcitis. Clinton, FDR all knew how to ballence the budget. CLinton was not even a liberal. Nafta proves he is no liberal. Corporatists in both arties are turning this country into Nazi Germany.
@captcrais101 Or a bananna republic with sweatshops. Tom Delay said about the sweatshops in the Kayman Islands "I would like to see this kind of business thrive in the USA!" Republicans won't be happy until there are just a few people with ALL the money and the rest of us peasants working for them with no benifits, slave wages and an environment like Upton Sinclaire's "The Jungle."
@captcrais101 The govt regulated by law that banks must lend to people who could not pay them back. So, whats the worse that could happen? Its not like it could cause our entire economy to collapse, or something? D'oh!
BTW, Nazis & Hitler were big government, central planning Socialists. Sounds like every liberal I know.
@planetfall Hitler was a conservative not a liberal. Hitler used religion the same way the GOP does. He was against labor, scapegoated jews and COMMUNISTS the same way republicans scapegoat communists and muslims. Does it make sense when FDR allied himself with Stalin to defeat Hitler? Hitler was funded by bush's grandfather. The government did not make the banks do the loans. The banks did it on their own because they were deregulated.
@captcrais101 Yes telling millionaires that they can keep more money that they have earned (tax breaks) is taking away from middle class? WHAT? If I tell you tomorrow that you can keep more of your income, who am I taking money away from? And I dont give a rats ass if rich care, as long as they create products thus creating jobs. And FYI Clinton balanced the budget because Republicans pushed him into it
@JefferyWWright The problem is that isn't all YOUR money. You didn't print it on an island all by yourself. If you have a dollar bill ask yourself how much would that piece of paper be worth without a US government? It would be worth nothing. To make it worth something and build a society to spend it in costs some of it and that's the part you didn't really earn. You took a bite of the candy bar in the store and now you owe the store for it. It's not stealing --it was never yours.
@sinistar99 Currency is a physical symbol representing ones abstract wealth. My wealth is my private property. Thanks to our government, the value of that dollar is purely imaginary, our currency is a charade. What I earn belongs to me, and no one else has a claim to it. Because you can earn your own.
"The government has to do somehting to create jobs" Yeah, like get the hell outta the way. To unhinged liberals, that means raise taxes and impose more bureaucratic regulation.
@JefferyWWright Yeah raise taxes on the rich. We have cut taxes to nothing for these greedy asses and all they have done is pissed on us with it. They have shipped jobs over seas. Trickle down is rich pisses on you economics. It is Bullshit. TAX THE RICH!! TAX THE RICH!! That beaucratic regulation makes sure that customers and workers get respected. No regulation means the CEOS can rape and pillage like a pirate. YOU STUPID CONSERATARD
@JefferyWWright "Yeah, like get the hell outta the way. To unhinged liberals, that means raise taxes and impose more bureaucratic regulation. " FAIL. We tried that. Taxes are lower than they have been in over 60 years and we've been de-regulating the market for the last 30 years. How's that been working out? Hows all that tax-cutty deregulatey stuff workin' out for ya? Sorry but the "unhinged Liberals" got it right.
@sinistar99 The only thing liberals get right is the destruction of value. The family, society, commerce, religion, law & order, civility, morals, business, the free market and so much more, perverted by liberal ideology. Liberalism is the rot within any society, it is self destruction.
Who the hell is Sam Seder? Oh yeah, that no-talent hack from Air America who got paid from money meant for inner-city children and couldn't stay on the public airwaves because he sucked THAT much.
@Teikiatsu Rather than attack the character of the host here, it would be more appropriate to address the points made. However, you can't. Tax rates are lower than they've been in 61 years. Revenue collected is lower. Revenue collected per capital is lower. Every point made in the video is accurate. But you can't attack those facts so you attack the person instead. Typical.
There should be give and take in this stopping people voting thing being pushed by the evil, bigoted right wing. They want to stop people voting without id. Well the intelligent, decent left should reciprocate by having a test of sanity and an ability to embrace reality. This can simply be tested, if you listen to Rush and he makes sense to you - YOU FAIL THE TEST and should be banned from the election booths...
The tax cuts went to the bottom 95% in this country. You're part of the top 5% Rush so yeah, giving you even more money back probably isn't going to do much to the economy. But taxes certainly aren't higher under Obama as you try to insinuate. Any idiot that paid attention to the news last year would know that Obama did not let the Bush tax cuts expire for ANYONE. So if tax cuts create jobs, we should be doing better than we did under Bill Clinton right?
@DisturbedHavok Rush is part of the top 0.1 %. He isn't representative of anything but an outlier. Those tax cuts will start creating jobs any day now I just know it! Any time now... Yep.... Here they go! no ... ok wait they will watch... nnn... now! ... no... ok hold on they will trust me... heheh..
Also, Rush's "What's it like to go through life being so wrong." is almost verbatim what a super conservative nut job out here told me once when I caught him in alittle hypocrisy about Social Security.
A government created job is still a job. That person now has more money to go and spend which will shuffle the money around... which is what ANY job does. It's taking money from your boss to give to you to give to someone else.
When you hire 50 people to do a public project, that's 50 people that now have money to spend that didn't have it before. A job is a job.
The really frightening part of the Rusty Limburger story is the part where millions of Americans sit around listening to his dirreha of the moutht nodding their heads, and sayin', "Amen."
He's just the bumbling twit who constantly nips at the balls of people out there trying to DO something. He the little yipping rat terrier making so much noise no one can think. Eventually, he'll make a bad move and get his ass crushed. It's coming.
Libs can only PWN with their obtuse ignorance. Taxes dont create real jobs, government jobs are funded by taking money from people who actually produce value. Government does not create real jobs. Redistribution of personal property didnt work for the USSR and wont work here, either. It cannot sustain an economy.
@JefferyWWright - We got it. The trickle up is good politics. Purges that excess money out of the ranks of the poor and the homeless, and filters it up to people like John McCain who has 8 homes, or Newt Gingrich who buys half million dollar rings. We got it. That isn't redistribution is it? You DF*ckers really don't get it. Do You? Can't get past thinking your shit is sweet as apple butter? Your gonna get a good taste of it soon.
@JefferyWWright That's why increasing taxes and creating government jobs brought us out of the Great Depression. Because it doesn't create "real" jobs.
@JefferyWWright You have a very narrow definition of "value." I think the highway system has more "value" than any hedge fund. It certainly creates and helps more private business than any single private enterprise. And that's just one example. You seem to think "value" only exists when a shareholder gets a dividend check or a ceo gives himself a huge bonus. The government produces tons of value and contributes value to private busines which couldnt exist without it.
I challenged a conservative once: pick any 5 minutes of Rush for me to listen to, no commercials or advertisements but a solid 5 minutes of commentary, and I bet Rush lies or says something false at least once. He never took me up on it.
Just a note here on Limbaugh: my grandmother listens to him, but she only seems to listen to about ten minutes a day. I suspect she's one of many listeners who just like to hear his soothing avuncular voice rather than anything he actually says. I suspect this because she doesn't listen to him and then tell me that I hate America because I hold some more liberal positions.
What an idiot: "The Government can make jobs" and then people can go out and spend it. Well why not have the government hire 30 million people???? Because that's not what increases the GDP. This Stark was all over the map.
@DisturbedHavok You think the New Deal ended the Great Depression? The New Deal did was clamped down on the markets, inflated the dollar and stagnated our recovery FOR 10 YEARS. WW2 didn't do it directly, as I understand it the aftermath of the war is what got us out. We had the only undamaged mass-production manufacturing system left in the world, we no longer needed to produce weapons, the companies weren't over-regulated and our returning soldiers needed jobs. It was a perfect storm.
@Teikiatsu True dat! Just think of how much quicker we would have got out of the Great Depression had FDR not had overreaching New Deal plans! It took the jobs that war brought to get unemployment down.
@SuckOnTruth You do realize that the GOVERNMENT paid for all those jobs created during the war correct? Government investment in jobs grew the economy.
So no matter how you want to argue it, the idea that the government had nothing to do with ending the Depression is total libertarian, bullshit.
@DisturbedHavok Yes, the government took money that would otherwise have been in the private sector and created "jobs" that it thought would be nice. There was no net gain, only loss. Gain only comes from profit that is a byproduct of capitalism. There was no profit to be gained from government programs, only loss. FDR took the money from people who could have spent it in the way they deemed important. Hence, there was only loss.
@SuckOnTruth Ford made a profit. All the companies who helped with the war effort made a profit. Americans were working.
Capitalism only cares about profit, not people. So what we have in the country right now is a situation where companies are making large profits, but a vast majority of Americans aren't doing any better. SO, which scenario works out better for greater number of people - mixed market capitalism, or Rand's capitalist vision? So far, in practice, Rand's loses.
@DisturbedHavok Oh sure, but the market had nothing to do with it, it was simply redistribution of wealth. Why is it OK for large companies to make money when the government gives it to them as opposed to them earning it from their own ideas and competition? True, capitalism cares for no one. Capitalism is a system of economics. People care for each other. It's up to them to take care of each other. Don't complain about companies making money when the government makes it easy for them.
@SuckOnTruth I'm not saying the government isn't to blame for the current situation, but you've moved us away from my original point and that was government, when properly applied and used, CAN save an economy as it did in ending The Great Depression - whether you believe it was jobs and manufacturing done for the war effort or The New Deal, it's still government. The "free market' had its chance and it was failing a majority of Americans.
@SuckOnTruth I have bad news for you: Redistribution of wealth happens. It happens when Chase arbitrarily raises interest rates and fees on thier loans. It happens when United Health raises it's insurance rates 400% in 8 years while making record profits. But you're right about companies. They can only do what is best for their shareholders profits that quarter. Nothing more nothing less. It's up to we the people aka the government to enforce rules so they don't screw us in the process.
@sinistar99 No, that's not redistribution, that's profit. Big difference. If you don't want to participate, don't invest in the companies. However, one has no choice when it comes to taxes. They are taken by the producers without an ounce of investment from the government in funds or intelligence. Of course, govt. can give contracts to business it wants, however this is crony capitalism at the lest, fascism at the worst. Either way, capitalism isn't allowed to work.
@SuckOnTruth The private sector has been making more profits than ever before in history --so where are the jobs they're supposed to be "creating" with it? FDR didn't take that money and burn it in a fire! it went back to the people creating thousands of jobs and improved infrastructure that helped business and made us into an economic superpower with a strong middle class that lasted until Reaganomics dismantled it. There was immense profit gained by government programs!
@SuckOnTruth You're forgetting how we got into the Great Depression in the first place. We didn't have the horrible new deal then how come everything wasn't all peachy? What we had was 3 Republican administrations in a row. And since then every time we had a Republican in office there was another stock market crash and another bank scare and more government bailouts. the S&L crisis, Black Tuesday, TARP... Thanks Pubs! Now lets count the crashes during Democratic admistrations....
@Teikiatsu Except the Great Depression ended BEFORE the end of WW2. The US was already turning around greatly before. It's true though that the US became a dominating force in the world due to our manufacturing sector being left in tact at the end of the war.
So, was it the mass production boom during the war that started us out of the Depression or the New Deal? The numbers already prove the upturn began during the war. It's only a matter of what you think the reason was for that.
@estewguard The GDP doesn't exist without the Governmen. There's no economy without a society to have it in and that society costs money to maintain. The commons provides the soil in which business grows. Could Garmin make money selling their GPS navigators without the US government to have a space program and put up those satelites? How many burgers would burger king sell if the government didn't build roads to their drive-thru?
After Stark made the oxycotin comment, I think Rush hung up on him. Rush is a phoney but only has the power that his listeners give him. Fortunatley people are waking up to him.
@chenalos Ah, the left, so sensitive and un-hateful. Wasn't this the kind of talk Obama said you shouldn't be doing after the shooting of Giffords in AZ? Again, all talk, and back to the hate speech.
@LittlePinky82 LOL! Wow, what a well thought out and reasoned response. Very indicative of your IQ level I'm guessing. I'd suggest you go read some history but I'm afraid it would make your head hurt and ruin your hate for your country. So, stay safe and insulated in your liberal world watching sad Youtube videos like this one and continue your dreams of Marxism. Again, thanks for the laugh Mr. Lame-O!!!
@chenalos I see this imbecile on the youtube video attracts only the finest of our country's degenerates. Glad to see what our tax dollars are producing in the public schools these days. Enjoy your monthly stipend of Obama dollars and enjoy a Natty Lite on me! Adios, fools! I shall suffer this collection of dolts no longer. But hey, your meth induced rebuttals have been quite enjoyable. Revealing as well, but quite enjoyable. Now join my IGNORE list, amigos. Ciao!

PoliticsILove 8 months ago
Its really simple, Government lives from taxes meaning If govt employee makes lets say 100 dollars and pays 20 or even 50 of it in taxes, you still have a net loss of 50, because gvt employees get payed from taxes, gvt. does not create products thus it creates no wealth, it takes it and gives it to others, economy 101
samuils 8 months ago
@samuils When it gives more money to others that is greater than an individuals income THEN you will have an argument. What you're confusing is that it gives lower and middle class people a larger tax break than rich people. BIG difference!!
PoliticsILove 8 months ago
@PoliticsILove A tax break is not given, a tax break means less taken to start with. And I am not confusing anything, considering that I was talking about salaries. All government salaries come from taxes. And that is what I was talking about, dont confuse the issues
samuils 8 months ago
a tax break IS GIVEN. Because a corporation operates and makes money because it has a society with roads and property rights and police (not to mention grants and subsidies) and all that costs money which the corporation or investor did not earn. So it's really not their money. When you go into the theater and they give you a ticket price break they're giving you something. Government salaries come from taxes and they buy things in the private sector and pay taxes so it all comes back.
sinistar99 3 months ago
@sinistar99 The corporation if uses those roads with vehicles pays taxes as well as licensing and everything else that goes in addition to commercial vehicles which is a lot. Also Corporations pay taxes for just about everything you have mentioned in short. Grants? that would be a very small amount and subsidies which I am 100% against. Corporations create products, gvt. creates NOTHING, only takes money away from productive sectors. Corporations create wealth, gvt. destroys it.
samuils 3 months ago
@samuils It's not proportionately enough. Trucks that ship products are the ONLY reason we need to resurface roads regularly. I used to work for DOT I know. Govt creates NOTHING? really? so the space program, highway system, gps satelites (which corporations make lots of money using) and countless other govt programs like the original internet and first digital computers don't exist? What world is that in? Limbaugh Land?
sinistar99 3 months ago
@samuils AND plenty of corporations create NOTHING. What do hedge fund managers create? What do health insurance companies create? They just move money around and skim a bunch off the top. They don't create very many jobs either because so much of it "trickles down" into the bank accounts of ceos and major investors. They're the ones who create NOTHING. They make money because they already had a bunch of it.
sinistar99 3 months ago
@sinistar99 They create services that other people willingly pay for, or new vehicles of investment that other people willingly pay for, unlike taxes that are taken away by force. And they create jobs doesnt matter if its 100 or 10 million. And they HAD money because they HAD other business which provided products or services that people used and bought.
samuils 3 months ago
@samuils Not necessarily. Tboon Pickens borrowed money bought corporations (thanks to de-regulation in teh 80s) saddled the corporation with that debt (once a profitable company now in the red). Then liqidated the corporation costing hundreds of jobs and livelihoods, took a bunch of money for himself (that he created nothing for) and did it again and again. what did Golman Sacks create that "earned" them the TARP bailouts? What did the S&Ls "create" in the 80s that "earned" them bailouts?
sinistar99 3 months ago
@samuils No it's not that simple and i doubt you've taken economy 101. Maybe you should. The part that they don't pay in taxes what happens to that hmmm? They SPEND it right here in the USA buying products and services in the private sector who create jobs and pay taxes themselves. Plus they move things around, invent things, and create which ends up being MORE than what you put in. People are net producers. What they don't do is go to the dominican Republic and get underage hookers.
sinistar99 3 months ago
@sinistar99 I dont think YOU have taken economics 101, everything that is taxed, is taken away from the private sector that creates more wealth. Public sectors doesnt create wealth at all, all it does is takes it away and gives to others. Meanwhile creates giant bureaucracies that take even more money away, eventually needing more taxes to take away from wealth creators. Why dont YOU learn some economics b4 opening you mouth with your patronizing bullshit

Government cannot effectively create jobs. Why, because it takes 5-7 private sector jobs to support each government created job.
TheLarryDownes 8 months ago
@TheLarryDownes True dat! Every job created by the government takes money away from the private sector. It's a total loss no matter how you look at it. It's like dipping a bucket into the deep end of the pool and pouring it into the shallow end. There is no net gain.
SuckOnTruth 8 months ago
@SuckOnTruth " Every job created by the government takes money away from the private sector." Um... no not really. Where do you think these government employees spend their paychecks? Mars? ALL of the money going to public employees goes through the private sector creating private jobs and economic activity. The problem is you people seem to think there's a private sector AND government like they're on 2 different planets and don't contribute to each other. It's all one big thing.
sinistar99 3 months ago
@sinistar99 Um yep. See when gubmit takes people's money and redistributes it, it always keeps a bit for itself in administrative costs. Not only that, but this is what is called crony capitalism and this does not allow capitalism to be truly fleshed out. People are not allowed to spend their own money on what they desire, but the government takes the money and spends on what it decides is correct. This is not capitalism. All public money comes from private. Gov. does not create a profit.
SuckOnTruth 3 months ago
@SuckOnTruth The Gubment prints the money in the first place. the money would not exist or have any value without the gubmit. And it doesn't "keep money for itself" It spends the money giving those adminstrators jobs and buying office supplies which create private sector jobs as well. Those administrators go out and by tvs and xboxes which make private businesses money. All the money comes back creating economic activity.

@TheLarryDownes Then qualify your statements next time. I understand that some industries operate better under the government and some operate better in the private sector, but you shouldn't speak in such flagrantly inaccurate absolutes such as "Gov CAN'T effectively create jobs." There is a major flaw in Mike Stark’s argument of there being no difference in taking out a student loan in order to better yourself personally and running deficits in order to make “improvements” to the country. The student makes the decision alone to take out their student loan and taxpayers are not on the hook to repay if she/he defaults. Every taxpayer is on the hook for continued US deficits.

@JefferyWWright The alternative is no money invested anywhere which is what you propose. planetfall 3 months ago
The banks did it on their own because they were deregulated.
captcrais101 3 months ago
@captcrais101 Yes telling millionaires that they can keep more money that they have earned (tax breaks) is taking away from middle class? WHAT? And FYI Clinton balanced the budget because Republicans pushed him into it
samuils 3 months ago
@JefferyWWright The problem is that isn't all YOUR money. You didn't print it on an island all by yourself. If you have a dollar bill ask yourself how much would that piece of paper be worth without a US government? It would be worth nothing. To make it worth something and build a society to spend it in costs some of it and that's the part you didn't really earn.

Libs can only PWN with their obtuse ignorance. Taxes dont create real jobs, government jobs are funded by taking money from people who actually produce value. Government does not create real jobs. Redistribution of personal property didnt work for the USSR and wont work here, either. It cannot sustain an economy.
JefferyWWright 8 months ago
@JefferyWWright - We got it. The trickle up is good politics. @JefferyWWright That's why increasing taxes and creating government jobs brought us out of the Great Depression. Because it doesn't create "real" jobs.
whatisahumans 8 months ago
@JefferyWWright You have a very narrow definition of "value." I think the highway system has more "value" than any hedge fund. It certainly creates and helps more private business than any single private enterprise. And that's just one example. You seem to think "value" only exists when a shareholder gets a dividend check or a ceo gives himself a huge bonus. The government produces tons of value and contributes value to private busines which couldnt exist without it.

DisturbedHavok 8 months ago
@DisturbedHavok You think the New Deal ended the Great Depression? The New Deal did was clamped down on the markets, inflated the dollar and stagnated our recovery FOR 10 YEARS. WW2 didn't do it directly, as I understand it the aftermath of the war is what got us out. We had the only undamaged mass-production manufacturing system left in the world, we no longer needed to produce weapons, the companies weren't over-regulated and our returning soldiers needed jobs. It was a perfect storm.
Teikiatsu 8 months ago
@Teikiatsu True dat! Just think of how much quicker we would have got out of the Great Depression had FDR not had overreaching New Deal plans! It took the jobs that war brought to get unemployment down.
SuckOnTruth 8 months ago
@SuckOnTruth You do realize that the GOVERNMENT paid for all those jobs created during the war correct? Government investment in jobs grew the economy.
So no matter how you want to argue it, the idea that the government had nothing to do with ending the Depression is total libertarian, bullshit.
DisturbedHavok 8 months ago
@DisturbedHavok Yes, the government took money that would otherwise have been in the private sector and created "jobs" that it thought would be nice. There was no net gain, only loss. Gain only comes from profit that is a byproduct of capitalism. There was no profit to be gained from government programs, only loss. FDR took the money from people who could have spent it in the way they deemed important. Hence, there was only loss.
SuckOnTruth 8 months ago
@SuckOnTruth Ford made a profit. All the companies who helped with the war effort made a profit. Americans were working.
Capitalism only cares about profit, not people. So what we have in the country right now is a situation where companies are making large profits, but a vast majority of Americans aren't doing any better. SO, which scenario works out better for greater number of people - mixed market capitalism, or Rand's capitalist vision? So far, in practice, Rand's loses.
DisturbedHavok 8 months ago
@DisturbedHavok Oh sure, but the market had nothing to do with it, it was simply redistribution of wealth. Why is it OK for large companies to make money when the government gives it to them as opposed to them earning it from their own ideas and competition? True, capitalism cares for no one. Capitalism is a system of economics. People care for each other. It's up to them to take care of each other. Don't complain about companies making money when the government makes it easy for them.
SuckOnTruth 8 months ago
@SuckOnTruth I'm not saying the government isn't to blame for the current situation, but you've moved us away from my original point and that was government, when properly applied and used, CAN save an economy as it did in ending The Great Depression - whether you believe it was jobs and manufacturing done for the war effort or The New Deal, it's still government. The "free market' had its chance and it was failing a majority of Americans.
The plutocracy was due partly to deregulation.
DisturbedHavok 8 months ago
@SuckOnTruth I have bad news for you: Redistribution of wealth happens. It happens when Chase arbitrarily raises interest rates and fees on thier loans. It happens when United Health raises it's insurance rates 400% in 8 years while making record profits. But you're right about companies. They can only do what is best for their shareholders profits that quarter. Nothing more nothing less. It's up to we the people aka the government to enforce rules so they don't screw us in the process.
sinistar99 3 months ago

I love how Rush mutes him at 10:13.

@estewguard You're a dumbass.

Lame-O!!!
estewguard 8 months ago
@estewguard Replace the words "Liberal" with "conservative" and "Marxism" with "Fascism" in your little tirade and you got it right!

Ciao!
