i'm a PSU grad, and while I think the PSU student section is louder, there's not a single student section in the country that's as entertaining or coordinated as Wiscsonsin. First and ten wisconsin, the coordinated profanities, the "crowd surfing," Jump Around, etc. just have no equal

I lived there for 3 years during my post doc and will never forget it. Worderful place, wonderful people, made me a Badgers and Packers fan for life.

wisconsin sports period are almost in a class on their own, I mean from Badgers games, Packers games, and Brewers games(been to all three numerous times)....there are few other places that have such a loyal and enthusiastic following..it's a great state! and we can out-drink anybody!!! lol

I transfered to Northwestern. It's safe to say I don't regret my choice at all since it is a superior school, academically.

in some subjects... UW is better in most engineering, some business, and other. Not to mention we don't pay $50K a year to go to a glorified suburb where the students think partying is having 1 beer while watching their friends play Nintendo.

That is a difficult question to answer since it depends on you and what your program of study is. UW is a first tier school and also a top ten public school. It's usually about the 36th(or so) best university is the country, which isn't bad for a public school.
