@arealOpia1991 Marc Bolan here. and Bing Crosby and one other. BUt Mick Jagger was advised not to do it with Dancing in the street. He went ahead and this "Curse" stopped . just weird. :)
And I'v just noticed that this video is from 1977. the year Marc died in that crash. I'd like to know what month this was shot, If it was September then I'm spooked.
I've read he died anywhere from one day to 3 months, reading these posts........the truth is, Marc died 3 hours after this filming, we were just to blind to see it
Marc lookin great soundin awesome & well on his way back health & musically wise not that he ever left just had a small diversion, Bowie as ever just that - Bowie. rip Marc u are a master.
saying that i need to know the exact title, i can download music vids from you tube then convert them into MP3 or MP4 s i didnt realise this song video is only 1.12min long but will help if i can.
@pogleswood2 Depending on which account you read the song was called either Standing or Sleeping Next To You.
In the mid 80s a bootleg came out of the pair rehersing in a hotel room.
Alongside Standing/Sleeping Next To You they also did another Bolan/Bowie composition called Madman, which was later covered by the Cuddly Toys.Hope this is of help to you.
i feel a little sad knowing he was going to get killed in 9 days...i can't picture marc being alive passed 30...it's like the james dean syndrome..live fast die young...people getting killed when they're in their prime like jim morrison, and lots of others...god bless you marc...xxx
what a shame,he got his act together by this time, lost the weight cut down on drugs n booze the guy was in his prime,i think a great album was gonna take shape,i cant blame that woman for crashin into a tree but fkin hell its a bummer
Often cast as bitter rivals, Marc and David were actually great mates. Did anybody hear Bowie talking about Marc on a recent Radio Two tribute to Marc? He was so sweet and said Marc was his best friend. Marc opened the door for Bowie and David never forgot this.
I thought he died 3 days later. Ah, still a horrible loss to this day. What a lovely man he was and how uninhibited he was. Will always miss him. Peace to you.
David Bowie, Elton John, Rod Stewart and Roy Wood were all from 70's like Marc Bolan. I'm sure Marc would be singing even today because he was never afraid to experiment. Also, he lives THROUGH HIS MUSIC and his best hit EVER is GET IT ON. God Bless You Marc. You said "keep a little marc in your hearts" and my reply is "i keep all of marc in my heart."
Both Bowie and bolan are musical genius's - i myself prefer marc bolans music but doesnt mean that bowie is not just as good they are both good and in respect to Marc Bolan i dun think any sud be played off on the other!
The song's called "Standing Next To You",but on the bootleg of their hotel jam session(Which includes another collaberation later covered by the Cuddly Toys called "Madman",it's called "Sleeping Next To You"
Your intelligence level is so low, it is in the negatives. Please do not write to adults until you graduate Grade School. If you ever do. You are as funny as a pair of paper crutches, you proved it again. I rest my case. RIP, Marc!!! Rock On!!!
I can't believe anyone would say something so absolutely twisted and ignorant. What's with people commenting just to be fools? Marc Bolan and David Bowie are quite possibly my favorite duo since Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Marc was amazing, try accomplishing as much as he did in his 29 years.
What a video tho its short its brill!!! and two of my fav musicians together. Sadly Marc was killed, he was a great loss to the music industry and his fans.
Ha-De-F**kin'-Ha!!!.At least he's not some sick and twisted asshole like yourself.Marc Bolan was and always will be one of THE musical icons of all time.
They played together, they wrote together, they had plans together to record together...too bad Marc died about a week after this was shot...yes he fell off the stage.
So does song have a name? Or did it make it do an album anywhere? Sounds fantastic.

The David Bowie curse. Everyone he played with ended up dead. Nobody would duet with him for a while.

This was Bolan saying goodbye in more ways than one. Strange thing falling off the stage and Bowie remaining, a foreshadow of events to come.
I got the DVD of this show 'Marc' and there is a bloke on bass(?) had his boot on his guitar head at some point!
