Hey autismom6, could you tell me what that blonde girl and a man is saying from the beginning to the end, please? Thank you! Start from when she went over to measure Jonathan's height and when she and your husband (i think) is laughing about something while Jonathan ran away from the chaos.
@MultiSnooty he is not a retard! you have no respect! smh... my son is 2 and he's autistic and i think the day someone puts him down like that i'll flip!!!!
He was diagnosed with Tourettes, although it is more stimming behavior than anything, alot of autistic people are diagnosed with tourettes behavior I have read...
this reminds me of my son he can say teh same word over a million times even after getting a million responses and replies to it and it seems liek he didn't hear you at all........he is constantly singing and saying sojmething 24/7
i'd really appreciate talking to you about autisim i think you might have some answers to my questions!
I've always loved to stim to music that I like. Search "objectum sexual girl" and you will find a video of me in front of my computer stimming to DJ Klubbingmann's "Ride on A Love Train".
i recently bought jonathan a weighted twin size blanket on ebay from a person who sells them for autistic and adhd children. He now sleeps through the night, used to be up all night and had to have rocks, toys, cars and lots of things in his pockets to be able to sleep. her name on ebay is natural remedies for autism adhd, or look up weighted blankets to find her name, she does GREAT work and great prices too. if your son likes blankets, this is what he would LOVE! Take care, Cath
No, he likes to do this, it calms him and he says it feels good. Their sensory issues are different than ours. If I held his arm or tried to stop him, he would get VERY angry and probably throw a meltdown tantrum not understanding why I am trying to control something that makes him feel good and in control. It is interesting how different they think than we do. Thanks :)
When my son is melting we hold him from behind in a tight hug and pat his chest. He calms almost instantly. One of his early intervention teachers taught us that trick and it has been a life saver.
Jonathan does that too, he spins small objects in front of his face and walks all over the house back and forth, like small lego guys or hotwheel cars, one in both hands. Can do that for hours and has done this since age 3.
Yes he calls them his "Lord Songs" he learns them at church.. he can do this slapping thing for hours.. and sing too. Yes you got it right, he is singing that! Take care.
thanks so much for being brave enough to show the world about Autisim. My son is six hes not verbal but he punches himself a lot uselly round the head which is very upsetting for us. he also likes to try and bash his head of walls and floors. I had never heared the term stimming before though!

I have autism. Slapping my leg is calming. I do it in a rhythm and it's like meditation.

When Benjamin stims he likes to spin and look up at a light. Sometimes he will stick his hand in front of his eyes while he is spinning.
