@WarriorGinga They're Odin's two ravens, Huginn and Muninn (thought and memory), who are supposed to watch earth for and report to him to make up for his missing eye.
I understand why they took out all the Loki scenes though, because he would have completely outshone Thor if they hadn't. Plus, they need him to be the "villain"
@TheKisameHoshikagi In Norse mythology the gods were mortal. They could get sick, wounded and even die. Its the only mythology that I know of that is like this...weird I know.
@ticklemepurple86 Yeah, he already knew Ken (from Wallander back in the day)...thing was, when he realized that Chris's arms were the size of his thighs, he kinda gave up on that.
@Sierraness23 Hiddleston does work out and he was told to lose weight to get the part of Loki. in one interview he beat the talk show host at arm wrestling. But i am glad he got the part of Loki.
@MsChastity22 I don't think he'll stay good for long. Remember this is Loki we're talking about. He only helps the good guys when something directly affects him as well.
@MsChastity22 Technically none of the Asgardians are what we call 'good' they just either fight to defend or subjugate us. Loki isn't evil, he's just really angry and has the majority of his fun at others' expense. He will, however, have to swallow his pride and ask his brother and the Avengers for help when he gets his butt kicked for lying to his own army!!! Yeah, nice going there Loki; next time don't give yourself away until AFTER the world is conquered!
I swear they had to get rid of all his good scenes because they need him to be the Big Bad in the Avengers, and that's almost impossible if he's a lovable character like he is here.
the fact that this was deleted made Loki look like more of an asshole in the final cut. because this shows his mother made him be king. it wasn't his choice.

@micmaclovesmusic that squawking was from one of the two (or possibly both) ravens you see sitting on a perch in the background. According to norse mythology hese two ravens are Odins ravens named Hugin (Thought) and Munin ( Mind) sent out every day to gather news from the nine realms, and is how Odin stays in touch with everything that happens (it is said he can see and hear even in the odinsleep ;) ).
Them squawking fits so perfect with the scene that i actually doubt it was unintentional
Loki is one of those unlikely villains, he wanted to do the right thing and become so affixed on getting the acceptance of his family that it clouded what was right and wrong . . . that and he was always the 'trickster' like Bricriu. Nice video and yes, I do think more people ended up liking the rold of Loki and rooting for him. Bad, Odin, bad, bad Odin; stealing a baby and trying to justify it through dishonesty. No pudding for you, mister.
I was rooting the whole time for Loki to get what he wants. I still do when I read the comic or watch the Avengers. Loki's character is just so deep and interesting!

as much as i agree with all my fellow fangirls..and boys about how this scene should have been kept in, we forget a simple truth, THE MOVIE IS CALLED THOR and i can understand both sides, that this scene explains A LOT and makes loki even more indepth then he is in the original cut BUT from a classic hollywood view.... you cant have ppl careering on the "villian" instead of the "hero" otherwise it would just be crazy lol
I think that Loki is a defined character, meaning he has to have many elements about him so that the audience can respect him. I think that Loki isn't nessacerly "Evil" but he is the protagonist, that shows the most developement within the story. Loki has many things about him that might catch the eyes and hearts of the "Thor" fan groups but the film should have depicted more on the other sides of him so that the audience can see his truthful intentions.
While I really like the scene, the movie needed Loki to be the "villain" and this scene clearly shows that Loki did not just take the throne which is implied in the movie. Most everything he did could be easily justified except sending the destroyer after Thor. Though I notice that he didn't actually tell the thing to kill him... just don't let him come home AND he could have had the destroyer burn Thor to ash but instead just smacked the hell out of him. So was he REALLY trying to kill him?
That makes Loki's declaration that he didn't want the throne that much more believable. The look on his face when he realizes the line of succession...I got the sense that he hadn't even thought about it until Frigga said the words.
They definitely should have put this in--it shows that Loki wasn't taking so much advantage of his father being out of commission. In the movie it seems like he just took the throne on his own. I never will understand some of the thing they delete from movies.
Has anyone else noticed the scenes they mostly cut out were this woman (I forget her name) acting , they might replace her in the next one because I barely noticed her in the finished movie
They should have left this scene in, especially since Loki said he "never wanted to be King, just an equal." This explains that transition.
Deleting this scene only to show Loki as a power-crazed king did not compliment the rest of his character plot: Everything he did was to prove himself, not to take over a throne. It 's frustrating when writers flip a character 180 degrees from one personality to another: arrogant Thor turns into an angel over night, and Loki into a psychopath? No thanks.
@Natspacevids Nah, Loki was never exactly chock full o' sanity. Why would he think that destroying Jotunheim would make him a worthy son in Odin's eyes? Odin had already banished Thor for attacking them. And he told Loki that he had hoped for a lasting peace with them. So it doesn't seem reasonable for Loki to think attacking them again would win Odin's approval. Also, Loki attempting to murder his brother certainly wouldn't make Odin proud. I mean, honestly.
@yosoyconsuela Sure it isn't reasonable: Despite being sly for trying to prove Thor flawed in Odin's eyes in his desperation to gain Odin's equal recognition, Loki was initially neither insane or even hateful. Then he went from clever & even 'loving' to suddenly hogging the throne & senselessly butchering Thor & an entire race?
Overnight character flips from 'meek' to 'apocalyptic' don't really click with me ;) Either way, it was a fun movie & characters so I enjoyed it regardless!
@Natspacevids Are you forgetting that Asgardians were killed in the Jotun stealth attack Loki orchestrated? Costing innocent people their lives and potentionally putting still more in danger just to make Thor look bad is not reasonable behavior either. That was at the beginning of the movie. So no, he didn't just suddenly go crazy. He was already on the brink and the big reveal about his true parentage pushed him over.
@yosoyconsuela I doubt we'll see eye to eye by how diversely we can interpret characters, I actually find Thor insane & callous for risking another war on his people. I just feel the producers left us with an overly psychotic villain that simply did not compliment Loki’s initial role. He might have been ‘bad’ but not to the extreme they pulled. Producers sacrificed what would have been an amazing character. Guess they needed the Avengers' villain. Anyhow, enjoyed our little conversation. Ciao!
@Natspacevids No, Thor was just stupid. He was a hot-head who didn't consider consequences of his actions. Loki was the thinker. He was fully aware that innocent people could've been hurt in the attack that HE planned. He knew full well that Thor's reaction would be to go off half-cocked and he egged Thor on. He knew that Thor's act of aggression could bring war upon Asgard. He just cared more about making Thor look bad than anything else. And you say Thor is the callous one? Yeah, okay.
@chavamara Well, Slytherins can be intelligent too. Slytherins are just more inclined to apply their intelligence in devious ways. Loki's cunning is a major facet of his character. Ergo, he belongs in Slytherin.
@AChickenBoo what if he wanted to be in hufflepuff or ravenclaw if he wanted to be in slytherin then he would be the sorting hat puts you in what you want
@dreamer4life11 Its from Norse mythology, Odin had two ravens who would scatter across the Earth and report him little secrets they overheard so he could truly know what was going on everywhere.
Underneath it all, Loki will ALWAYS be Frigga's little baby.
IDK why they felt the need to edit this scene. It's so beautiful and it adds another layer to the characters and to the real tragedy of the ending. The whole time Loki looks like he just wants to run to his mama for comfort and Frigga looks like she just wants to cuddle her baby and tell him everything's going to be okay. *SOBS* Dx
@sparky99945 Go to 2:32, there's a bird flapping in the background. Also, cute Loki face :3 I don't know how they managed to stay in character with a bird squawking in the back. Dedication Ftw.
@RibenaIsAddictive its either Huginn or Muninn (ravens of Óðinn (Odin)) they bring him news from the other realms according to Snorri Sturluson when he wrote the story of norse mythology. Snorri also was the first one who made Loki Laufeyarson appear in Norse Mythology...after all Loki has an Icelandic name
@angelwolfchild16 I love Loki, but honestly? FRIGGA should've been on the throne. She's the only one in the family who seems to have proper control of her emotions. Loki's awesome but his weakness is that he's an emotional bottler - it's never good to have someone in charge who suppresses emotions until they come out in a giant explosion. Thor has the opposite problem - he rages at everything - and Odin is just confused. Frigga was the only one who dealt with everything in an appropriate manner
@DuchessAliana Maybe women are not allowed to rule in Asgard? Thor mentioned to Sif that he supported her when others scoffed at the idea that a young maiden could be a fierce warrior. What reason would anyone have to scoff at that other than good old fashioned sexism at its finest? So yeah, Asgardian society seems rather patriarchal.
THAT MOTHERFUCKIN BIRD RUINING LOKI'S MOMENT I WILL MURDER IT IF IT IS THE LAST THING I DO!

WarriorGinga 3 months ago
They definitely should have put this in--it shows that Loki wasn't taking so much advantage of his father being out of commission. In the movie it seems like he just took the throne on his own. I never will understand some of the thing they delete from movies.

This is the moment that everyone is waiting for.... Loki to be KING!!
Jujusparks12 4 months ago
They should have left this scene in, especially since Loki said he "never wanted to be King, just an equal." This explains that transition.
Deleting this scene only to show Loki as a power-crazed king did not compliment the rest of his character plot: Everything he did was to prove himself, not to take over a throne. It 's frustrating when writers flip a character 180 degrees from one personality to another: arrogant Thor turns into an angel over night, and Loki into a psychopath? No thanks.
Natspacevids 4 months ago 4
@Natspacevids Nah, Loki was never exactly chock full o' sanity. Why would he think that destroying Jotunheim would make him a worthy son in Odin's eyes? Odin had already banished Thor for attacking them. And he told Loki that he had hoped for a lasting peace with them. So it doesn't seem reasonable for Loki to think attacking them again would win Odin's approval. Also, Loki attempting to murder his brother certainly wouldn't make Odin proud. I mean, honestly.
yosoyconsuela 4 months ago
@yosoyconsuela Sure it isn't reasonable: Despite being sly for trying to prove Thor flawed in Odin's eyes in his desperation to gain Odin's equal recognition, Loki was initially neither insane or even hateful. Then he went from clever & even 'loving' to suddenly hogging the throne & senselessly butchering Thor & an entire race?
Overnight character flips from 'meek' to 'apocalyptic' don't really click with me ;) Either way, it was a fun movie & characters so I enjoyed it regardless!
Natspacevids 4 months ago
@Natspacevids Are you forgetting that Asgardians were killed in the Jotun stealth attack Loki orchestrated? Costing innocent people their lives and potentionally putting still more in danger just to make Thor look bad is not reasonable behavior either. That was at the beginning of the movie. So no, he didn't just suddenly go crazy. He was already on the brink and the big reveal about his true parentage pushed him over.
yosoyconsuela 4 months ago
@yosoyconsuela I doubt we'll see eye to eye by how diversely we can interpret characters, I actually find Thor insane & callous for risking another war on his people. I just feel the producers left us with an overly psychotic villain that simply did not compliment Loki’s initial role. He might have been ‘bad’ but not to the extreme they pulled. Producers sacrificed what would have been an amazing character. Guess they needed the Avengers' villain. Anyhow, enjoyed our little conversation. Ciao!
Natspacevids 4 months ago
@Natspacevids No, Thor was just stupid. He was a hot-head who didn't consider consequences of his actions. Loki was the thinker. He was fully aware that innocent people could've been hurt in the attack that HE planned. He knew full well that Thor's reaction would be to go off half-cocked and he egged Thor on. He knew that Thor's act of aggression could bring war upon Asgard. He just cared more about making Thor look bad than anything else. And you say Thor is the callous one? Yeah, okay.
yosoyconsuela 4 months ago
@yosoyconsuela That's because Loki = Draco in Leather Pants and Thor = Ron the Death Eater. Haha.

@AChickenBoo Lol. I love tvtropes.org. But your comment made me want to start sorting Thor characters into Hogwarts Houses. :D
yosoyconsuela 4 months ago
@yosoyconsuela Ha. Thor and Sif would be Gryffindor. Loki would be Slytherin. Jane and Selvig would be Ravenclaw. Am I right?
AChickenBoo 4 months ago
@AChickenBoo What about the Warriors Three?
yosoyconsuela 3 months ago
@AChickenBoo I think it would be a toss up between Slytherin and Ravenclaw for Loki. He's very clever, so he could go into either one.
chavamara 3 months ago
@chavamara Well, Slytherins can be intelligent too. Slytherins are just more inclined to apply their intelligence in devious ways. Loki's cunning is a major facet of his character. Ergo, he belongs in Slytherin.
AChickenBoo 3 months ago
@AChickenBoo what if he wanted to be in hufflepuff or ravenclaw if he wanted to be in slytherin then he would be the sorting hat puts you in what you want

What was with the crow sound?
dreamer4life11 4 months ago
@dreamer4life11 Its from Norse mythology, Odin had two ravens who would scatter across the Earth and report him little secrets they overheard so he could truly know what was going on everywhere.
MrCure4 4 months ago
@MrCure4 Thank you for clearing that up for me :)
dreamer4life11 4 months ago
Underneath it all, Loki will ALWAYS be Frigga's little baby.
IDK why they felt the need to edit this scene. It's so beautiful and it adds another layer to the characters and to the real tragedy of the ending. The whole time Loki looks like he just wants to run to his mama for comfort and Frigga looks like she just wants to cuddle her baby and tell him everything's going to be okay. *SOBS* Dx

RibenaIsAddictive 4 months ago 4
@RibenaIsAddictive its either Huginn or Muninn (ravens of Óðinn (Odin)) they bring him news from the other realms according to Snorri Sturluson when he wrote the story of norse mythology. Snorri also was the first one who made Loki Laufeyarson appear in Norse Mythology...after all Loki has an Icelandic name
MrNewWanderer 3 months ago
Thumbs up if you think Loki should have stayed King (I think he's way better than Thor).
angelwolfchild16 4 months ago
@angelwolfchild16 I love Loki, but honestly? FRIGGA should've been on the throne. She's the only one in the family who seems to have proper control of her emotions. Loki's awesome but his weakness is that he's an emotional bottler - it's never good to have someone in charge who suppresses emotions until they come out in a giant explosion. Thor has the opposite problem - he rages at everything - and Odin is just confused. Frigga was the only one who dealt with everything in an appropriate manner
DuchessAliana 3 months ago 7
@DuchessAliana Maybe women are not allowed to rule in Asgard? Thor mentioned to Sif that he supported her when others scoffed at the idea that a young maiden could be a fierce warrior. What reason would anyone have to scoff at that other than good old fashioned sexism at its finest? So yeah, Asgardian society seems rather patriarchal.
