  • I would love to be able to get the sound clip of this can someone help please!

  • Is that Johnny Cash or a sound alike. It didn't seem quite right to me. But I could be wrong.

  • Good!

  • so is this a spin off the Restless kid from-Ricky nelson? or did Ricky nelson take it from Cash?

  • I'm not sure which one came first. I'm assuming Nelson's, but I have nothing to back that up.

  • @stantler16 song was written by Johnny Cash, alternate versions appear on Bootleg Volume 1

  • Did Johnny later sell ice cream under the name "The Good Yuma Man"???

  • Hey Jubal, check out a current UTube Clip called Joey Heatherton birthday party. Its a home movie made during the time she was filming Twilight of Honor. Nick Adams is prominently featured in the footage. A rare candid glimpse of him in a real life setting.

p.s. I think he was an under-rated actor. His performance in The Hook was in the same class as his buddy James Deans work, if you look at Deans work objectively.

  • I Always watched this show as a kid...I was later stationed in Yuma Ariz as a Marine..Thanks for posting

  • I LOVE Johnny Yuma his shows are better than anythin!!! im 11 and i love oldies!!!

  • Great as all Cash´s songs!

  • this was a good western that dealt with issues such as drug addiction, gun control and mental illness. They only issue it didn't deal with was race, but that would have been too controversial for it's time.

  • i like the way johnny cash sings this one--

  • please can u send me a link from where you got the song, cuz i cant find it anywhere

  • I'm not sure if you can download it from the internet. I got it from the CD "My Rifle, My Pony, and Me," which can be found on Amazon.

  • Did Johnny Yuma exist?

  • No, Johnny Yuma is a 100% fictional character.

  • cool

  • awesome

  • cool

  • What's the name of this song?, never heard it before but I like it.

  • I think it's just called "Johnny Yuma," but I don't really know much about it.

  • buenisimas la cancion y la serie

  • Poor Nick Adams,

his eyes were always a little sad.

  • I heard the first couple notes, and thought, "gee that sounds kind of Cash". Then bang, its the man in black. Great song.

  • Nick Adams was from New York but he will ALWAYS be the Rebel to me. He rally did like the south & was a personal friend of Elvis Presley.

  • Actually, he was born in Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey. But besides that, you're right. Adams was perfect for the part.

  • His friend wrote the series for him.

  • True... although they became friends and then very shortly after came up with the idea for the series - it's not like they had been friends since childhood.

  • although his hips were broader than his shoulders. lol

do you know what they call you if you're in the air force? an air man. you don't want to be called an air man, do ya? lol

  • Actually he was jewish and from Pennsylvania, but you're right on everything else:)

  • Yea,it was good....

  • It was a good series...I like the theme song when it begins with "Dixie" and the Confederate Battle Flag...of course, today some moron would become offended....

  • Yep - today, the show would be considered racist simply because the guy is a confederate. It's really a shame, too - in my opinion, it's by far the best western TV show ever made.

  • Thank you... just good memories of my childhood!

  • CHEYENNE had a better theme song...

  • if you look like that you can't be all bad

  • ...and how is he bad?

  • Too bad Johnny Yuma was a fake rebel. No confederate dressed in buckskin.

  • Nick Adams died too young. Is that Clu Gulagher that he's fighting at mark 55?

  • No, it's Richard Jaeckel from the episode "The Rattler." However, Clu Gulagher is in the episode "Paint a House with Scarlet" (no footage of that episode is in this video).

  • Good eye, Sword. Hard to tell if it's Adams's back rushing away from the camera or a double, (there's a convenient cut suggesting this is so), but there's no denying that Jaeckel is the shorter of the two. I guess it was the facial grimace that threw me off. That, and my mistaken impression that the actor was positioned to make Adams look taller. Obviously, its Jaeckel at full stature. Without Jaeckel, Gulagher, and Dan Duryea could they have made TV westerns? Thanks.

  • You're welcome. It wasn't a good eye, though - I had to look it up on IMDB!

Despite its age, "The Rebel" is still one of the best tv shows around.

  • One part of Rob Reiner's film that rings true is how the boys sing TV themes as they hike. We did that too, for shows like "Have Gun Will Travel", "Bat Masterson", "The Lawman", etc. Difference is, we'd make up our own, filthy lyrics. Lot's of fun until your parents overheard you. IMDB is a great resource. I use them all the time.

  • Do you have a clip with the old intro song?

  • I'm sorry, I do not. While I prefer the original, I thought this one would work better for the video, due to the original's breif verses and repeating chorus.

  • Thanks. I appreciate it anyway. It seems that someone just posted it, though:
