I guess sometimes people like me never see the light until i'm hit by a car. I went to church today to make a donation. Someone saw my American Bulldog and I was not even asked to leave I was demanded like my dog came from hell. All because they thought she was pitbull. Church people can go to hell as far as i'm concerned.
I have a rednose pit named Rudy. He is the BEST dog I have ever had in my life. In the five years I have had him he has only wanted to bite one person. He never tried to harm him but you could tell he wanted to. This person ended up robbing my house the next day!!! These animals carry wise judgment and don't deserve this!!!!

i have not one, but two german shephard/rottweiler mixes and they are the biggest babies. people walk into my house and get scared meanwhile i'm sitting cuddling with them on their beds. they mean the world to me, and have never caused any harm to anyone.
I know a dog who is part lab and part pitbull. Believe me, she is the biggest baby! She defines sappy. You can fuss her and she'll sit there, giving you big brown eyes and let you pet her, and I've never worried if she'll bite. I've only heard her play growl, but not angry growl. She's also well behaved.

I got this chain email of a news article saying that English Bulldogs are potentially vicious and should be considered a dangerous breed. Every breed is equally potentially vicious. My english bulldog only bites when you piss him off.

I hate people. I own a pit bull that I got from a rescue shelter that got him and his litter mates from a kill shelter. But for some reason he's terribly afraid of big people, even though his brother who we fostered for a few weeks wasn't.
And from the media perpetuating ignorance. Not many people realize that "pit bull" can refer to like 20 different breeds. It is now used as a term like hound or shepherd is. Only APBT should realistically called pit bulls, but now any dog that is muscular with non-erect ears that isn't an easily recognizable breed like a rottweiler is a "pit bull." If a lab/boxer, lab/mastiff, or german shepherd/rottweiler bit someone it'd probably go down as a "pit bull" attack. :(

Many of these dogs when raised with a cat will be best friends with them besides being a great family pet. They are many active APBT in society, theropy dogs, police dogs, and so forth. They are loyal dogs that will follow you to Hell and drag you back if they have to. One APBT saved 30 people, 29 dogs, 13 horses and a cat.
As far as legitimate use, most dogs are now show or pets. They don't serve any use besides being loving.

Breed Specific Legislation or BSL is horrible. It targets many dogs as 'dangerous' when thats not the case at all. Smoking kills over 400,000 people a year. Drugs kill over 10,000 people a year. Drinking kills over 1,000 people a year. Dogs kill 3 people a year at the mazimum. Why blame the dog for the way the owner raised it. There is no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad owner!

It's funny, I own a breed of dog that was soley bred to be aggressive. It was bred to defend against and kill bears, wolves, mountain lions, etc. Yet, her breed is not affected by BSL. People always say "she is so shy and sweet", "she follows you and your other dog everywhere, how sweet". What they don't realize is that she is reserve with strangers & guarding her flock. I just want to add that mixed breed without BSL dog parents have killed twice as many people in Germany than PitBulls. 97,4% of all dogs in Germany DON't bite. I think the scariest thing about BSL is people being so ignorant about it.
Eventually many of the dogs that we know and love dearly will be outlawed. As a doberman owner, it deeply offends me as to how people react towards my animals.

I agree this is not going to solve the problem. To me it's like they find it easier to ban and destroy a breed of dog rather than confronting the one's who are responsible. These dogs are working dogs they have served the human race well over time,and now how do these people want to repay them by destroying the breed. I have a Boxer/American Bulldog mix. Ignorant people think he's a pit bull. According to BSL just because of the way he looks his life should be taken. BSL IS WORTHLESS BS!! This legislation will not help the millions of this breed who are murdered(either in shelters or by their abusers) every year. All it will do is put more breeds to die in the pit. They'll start using American Bulldogs, Boxers, Rotties, or any of the other bullie/mastiff type breeds. Euthanize the dogfighters.

Thank you for not simply spewing redderick. Most debate here on youtube concerning Pitty's is nurture vs. nature. Well the fact is many( but not all) of these dogs are unpredictable, agressive. As for the owners many( but not all) buy these dogs for the status of having an agressive dog. While BSL in controversial, it does make sense. The fact is these dogs were raised to fight, and grab cattle. Both of these functions are outdated, maybe the breed is as well.
Based on that rationale; all livestock guardian breeds, ratters, herders, etc. should be banned. So, terriers, shepherds, hunting, and livestock protecting breeds should be banned as these dogs were bred to be aggressive in their jobs. So there goes your Yorkie, Collie, Lab, and Great Pyrenees. Good point though because only Pit Bull's can be aggressive and unpredictable! You're an idiot.

In the pitbull bloodlines are also dogs specifically bred for fighting other dogs.
Pitbulls are anotomically stronger, and built to take big animals down. It's not simply the dog, but pit's ARE different.
Firslty (learn how to spell), secondly, any animal can be unpredictable (like the human animal). Domestic dogs are descendants of wolves and wild dogs. Thirdly, if you had a clue about dog behaviour you would understand that a dog that comes from fighting lines is no-different than the one coming from companion lines. A dog is a dog. A wolf pup can and has been trained to be a family companion. A Lab has been trained to fight. It is proven to be a result of how you raise the dog.

One of my dogs was attacked while he was being walked by a loose running Pit. The owner of the Pit was an idiot whose son forgot to shut the door behind him. I do not blame the Pit. He was with his little sister (chihuahua) when he saw my big lumbering 150lb goofball as a threat to his sister. I met the Pit after the incident with my other giant breed dog. Guess what? no issue! Oh my god the dog was changed! No, it was the circumstance. I adopted the Pit. Now he and the victim are best friends.

im still young but i've been working with animals and learing since i could talk... and BSL is not a real solution to the real problem. I'm using the pitbull as and example because they are the most targeted but over 90 dogs over the world are affected including mutts. When BSL is going on in a community it is really only punishing responsible owners who love their pets.
this is so sad, help fight it, and it should be the law not to hurt inicent dogs. they are not mean, those people just made them mean and killed them!

I guess sometimes people like me never see the light until i'm hit by a car. I went to church today to make a donation. Someone saw my American Bulldog and I was not even asked to leave I was demanded like my dog came from hell. All because they thought she was pitbull. I have a rednose pit named Rudy. He is the BEST dog I have ever had in my life. In the five years I have had him he has only wanted to bite one person. Where we differ is our belief that a dog should be deemed dangerous on an individualized basis. If the dog mauls or worse, the animal should be culled and an investigation should be conducted to discover if there is owner negligence. But an outright ban--which is what most BSL proponents are in favor of--is a death sentence. A BSL ban equals BSG (Breed Specific Genocide). The "naive melody" has two sets of singers.

I know a dog who is part lab and part pitbull. Believe me, she is the biggest baby! She defines sappy. You can fuss her and she'll sit there, giving you big brown eyes and let you pet her, and I've never worried if she'll bite. I've only heard her play growl, but not angry growl. She's also well behaved.

And from the media perpetuating ignorance. Not many people realize that "pit bull" can refer to like 20 different breeds. It is now used as a term like hound or shepherd is. Only APBT should realistically called pit bulls, but now any dog that is muscular with non-erect ears that isn't an easily recognizable breed like a rottweiler is a "pit bull." If a lab/boxer, lab/mastiff, or german shepherd/rottweiler bit someone it'd probably go down as a "pit bull" attack. :(

I"ll use APBT as examples since this vid is about them.
Many of these dogs when raised with a cat will be best friends with them besides being a great family pet. They are many active APBT in society, theropy dogs, police dogs, and so forth. They are loyal dogs that will follow you to Hell and drag you back if they have to. One APBT saved 30 people, 29 dogs, 13 horses and a cat.
As far as legitimate use, most dogs are now show or pets. They don't serve any use besides being loving.

Breed Specific Legislation or BSL is horrible. It targets many dogs as 'dangerous' when thats not the case at all. Smoking kills over 400,000 people a year. Drugs kill over 10,000 people a year. Drinking kills over 1,000 people a year. Dogs kill 3 people a year at the mazimum. Why blame the dog for the way the owner raised it. There is no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad owner!

It's funny, I own a breed of dog that was soley bred to be aggressive. It was bred to defend against and kill bears, wolves, mountain lions, etc. Yet, her breed is not affected by BSL. People always say "she is so shy and sweet", "she follows you and your other dog everywhere, how sweet". What they don't realize is that she is reserve with strangers & guarding her flock. If she believes there is a threat to her flock...look out. Goes to show how ignorant people are of the many breeds.

I just want to add that mixed breed without BSL dog parents have killed twice as many people in Germany than PitBulls. 97,4% of all dogs in Germany DON't bite. The "biting" 2.6% constist mainly of Dachshounds (33%) and Shepherds (34%). 85% of the dogs bite in response to their owner's wrong behaviour.

I think the scariest thing about BSL is people being so ignorant about it.
Eventually many of the dogs that we know and love dearly will be outlawed. As a doberman owner, it deeply offends me as to how people react towards my animals.

pit bulls are NOT bad or mean creatures.
they can easily be trained to kill, but it's not their fault.
blame the owners, not the poor, innocent pit bull who is now suffering because of a dumb human, who decided to get this dog to look tough and cool, but never even fed the poor thing.

this video made me cry i LOVE my pitbulls so much and dont know what i would do without them..pitbulls saved my life from addiction if i didnt have my pitbulls then i would still be out there addicted to meth and i wish some ppl understood that there are good owners out there and that sometimes WE NEED THEM JUST AS MUCH AS THEY NEED US if i didnt have them i would prob be in jail or possibly dead so THANK YOU to all the responsible pitbull owners out there KEEP ON FIGHTING for our babies

I.O.L. Irresponsible Owner Legislation. What kind of justice system gives the criminals more rights? What kind of country allows people to get away with premeditated,cold blooded murder? That's exactly what dog fighting is. They know they are going to brutally take their lives from the time they are born but yet these idiot lawmakers don't want to address the real problem and choose to euthanize the dog(aka victim) and not the murderer. These dogs are working dogs they have served the human race well over time,and now how do these people want to repay them by destroying the breed. These dogs have been used as war dogs, rescue dogs and even by police departments to detect drugs. Punish the evil person who chooses to make his dog fight and misteats their dog. Weshould have stiffer jail time so as to send a message loud and clear that this will not be tolerated. Don't kill the innocent go after the guilty HUMAN.

I feel the same way. These dogs aren't born vicious. It is their HUMAN tormentors who make them that way. If somebody beat you on a daily basis you wouldn't be very nice either. Hold the owners accountable. They are responsible. Euthanize animal abusers not their victims. People are the problem. All of you pit bull haters stop being so dam ignorant about the breed and start seeing what is happening to not just these dogs but animals in general. Animal cruelty is not restricted to just canines.

I have a Boxer/American Bulldog mix. Ignorant people think he's a pit bull. According to BSL just because of the way he looks his life should be taken. BSL IS WORTHLESS BS!! This legislation will not help the millions of this breed who are murdered(either in shelters or by their abusers) every year. All it will do is put more breeds to die in the pit. They'll start using American Bulldogs, Boxers, Rotties, or any of the other bullie/mastiff type breeds. Euthanize the dogfighters.

BSL does not address the problem. As the video said it will not stop the assholes who fight these dogs. They are criminals and alot of times there is also drugs involved. If they can't use pits they'll go to another medium/large breed. How many breeds will be discriminated against before these ignorant lawmakers wake up? Where does it end? The OWNER(aka human) is ultimately responsible for their dogs behavior. Wake the hell up people and see the real problem. Bad owners and animal cruelty. .

Death and injury to other pets reduced, some vets say, "substantially." Areas previously closed to ALL dogs are beginning to hang out the welcome sign. And, most importantly, existing owners COULD KEEP THEIR DOGS with fair restrictions.
Stop the fear and propaganda about Breed Safety Legislation. BSL is a proven success.

Thank you for not simply spewing redderick. Most debate here on youtube concerning Pitty's is nurture vs. nature. Well the fact is many( but not all) of these dogs are unpredictable, agressive. As for the owners many( but not all) buy these dogs for the status of having an agressive dog. While BSL in controversial, it does make sense. The fact is these dogs were raised to fight, and grab cattle. Both of these functions are outdated, maybe the breed is as well.

Based on that rationale; all livestock guardian breeds, ratters, herders, etc. should be banned. So, terriers, shepherds, hunting, and livestock protecting breeds should be banned as these dogs were bred to be aggressive in their jobs. So there goes your Yorkie, Collie, Lab, and Great Pyrenees. Good point though because only Pit Bull's can be aggressive and unpredictable! You're an idiot.

In the pitbull bloodlines are also dogs specifically bred for fighting other dogs.
Pitbulls are anotomically stronger, and built to take big animals down. It's not simply the dog, but pit's ARE different.

Firslty (learn how to spell), secondly, any animal can be unpredictable (like the human animal). Domestic dogs are descendants of wolves and wild dogs. Thirdly, if you had a clue about dog behaviour you would understand that a dog that comes from fighting lines is no-different than the one coming from companion lines. A dog is a dog. A wolf pup can and has been trained to be a family companion. A Lab has been trained to fight. It is proven to be a result of how you raise the dog.

One of my dogs was attacked while he was being walked by a loose running Pit. The owner of the Pit was an idiot whose son forgot to shut the door behind him. I do not blame the Pit. He was with his little sister (chihuahua) when he saw my big lumbering 150lb goofball as a threat to his sister. I met the Pit after the incident with my other giant breed dog. Guess what? no issue! Oh my god the dog was changed! No, it was the circumstance. I adopted the Pit. Now he and the victim are best friends.

i just adopted a pit bull and the animal control say that they are soo sorry for having to give me a peice of paper that states: FOR ADOPTING THIS TYPE OF BREED IT IS REQUIERED THAT YOU MUZZLE THIS DOG AND KEEP IT LEASHED ON SHORT 4" LEASH. VIOLATION OF THIS LAW WILL HAVE YOU FINED $100-300 AND/OR YOUR DOG TAKEN AWAY AND/OR EUTHINISED." i think that that is totally innapropeate for the breed. i mean she s a little angel at my place makes me so mad. mind my spelling plz

it is. it's genocide only with dogs. most dogs that bite people are smaller breed dogs, but you hear about pits, rots, dobes, ect. biting people b/c they are big, and can do more damage when they bite some1, then a small dog would. so it makes for better news, and it's sick. tn has had 2 recent pit bull attacks, the dogs were put down, as they should have been, they attacked unprovocked, so i am waiting for tn to make my am staff illegal.

im still young but i've been working with animals and learing since i could talk... and BSL is not a real solution to the real problem. I'm using the pitbull as and example because they are the most targeted but over 90 dogs over the world are affected including mutts. When BSL is going on in a community it is really only punishing responsible owners who love their pets.
