  • Great video BTW, got me seriously thinkin bout an injector upgrade ;)

  • I've never gotten a reckless, careless, etc ticket, an my truck ain't got stacks. It's just a dual four inch plenty of cops have gotten smoke in their Windows, an I been pulled over once for it, an all he did was ask me what's been done to it?? Lol

  • what kind of potato did you film this with?

  • 240p, we meet again....

  • Smoke belching POS from his mommy's dirty ass

  • how do u pass the smog check?

  • looks like she is burning a bit rich

  • you do know you can get a reckless driving ticket for this? man I hate it when people do this, gives diesels a bad name, thanks alot!

  • @dukey497 i sort of agree with you... i love the black smoke but i hate the people who hate diesel because they think it is dirty

  • i love that black smoke keep it pouring man

  • @forestview2011 You're a smoke-belching POS from your Mommy's dirty ass huh? Good for you, loser

  • how fast did your gas gauge drop haha very nice though!

  • Alle reden se vom Klimaschutz und die Amis freun sich wie kleine Kinder, dass der Diesel schwarzen Rauch ausspuckt.

  • SIIIICCCCCKKKKKK

  • awsome video my 97 powerstroke 4x4 reg. cab does that 6" stacks straight piped stage 2 injectors a 80HP chip and a big lift

  • diesel fuel has alot of oil in it....then when it burns it burns black smoke

  • thats actually not why, its because when there is excess fuel it isnt properly mixed with the air, the black smoke you see is just burnt fuel that hasnt been mixed with enough air

  • you sir, are the tard, the condition which you describe, will cause only a partial burn of the fuel, in turn, causing white smoke, black smoke is raw fuel that hasnt been burned at all, therefore, the fuel is wasted

  • thats wrong, if it wasnt burned at all then it would come out of the exhaust as a liquid, it is fully burnt but just has not been mixed with air

  • google"what is black diesel smoke" then tell me i'm wrong dumb ass

  • you are wrong, not only did i not find anything when i typed that in but the small amount of info that i did find were random people giving their 2 cents, the only factual sources side with me

  • you are wrong it has been mixed with air its just getting a lot of diesel at a time and and diesel is refined less so it has more hydrocarbons in it so when it burns it is very soot do the research

  • obviously it is mixed with air, the fuel doesnt necessarily have to produce soot once it is burnt but when it doesnt have a proper fuel/air ratio there is a rich excess which is what you see as soot

  • you are a re tard

  • how so? because i know how my truck works or because i dont like to watch gay cat videos?

  • Black smoke is *incomplete* combustion, white smoke is *no* combustion. Raw diesel fuel is not black, and doesn't make black smoke - it's basically clear, and so when it's shot out the back it makes a whitish cloud. if you stick your hand into white smoke, you get diesel on your hand - if you stick it into black smoke, you get soot, which is a combustion byproduct of diesel so there must be *some* combustion taking place - it still heats the air and performs work, just not as much as it could.

  • no you've got it backwards, incomplete combustion is white, unburned fuel causes black, ever seen a truck or tractor puff white smoke at start up on a cold morning? its because there's not enough heat in a cold engine to completly burn the fuel, true that with black smoke there is some combustion, however dumping excess fuel into the combustion chamber "snuffs out the fire" sort-a-speak depriving the comb. chamber of oxygen. oxygen starved burn AND excess fuel causes black smoke

  • also, that excess fuel is not burned at all, a properly running diesel with the correct combination of fuel and oxygen, will at worst produce a minimal amount of black smoke under lugging conditions (assuming we're talking about modern electronicly controlled engines)

  • Well said, the idiots who have black soke belching out have incorrect engine timing or are deliberately injecting far too much diesel. It reduces performance and power. The black smoke is from unused diesel burning off in the manifold which soots up the turbo, EGR, DPF and ruins the engine as it leads to cracked cylinder heads from high temperatures.

It's a stupid thing to do. Why inject more diesel to give smoke, reduce power and economy, it says the owner knows nothing about engines!!!!!!!

  • black smoke is caused by complete combustion its just so rapid it has alot of soot and diesel is refined less so it has more hydrocarbons in it so it burns dirtier

  • que manera de contaminar el aire .... ¬¬

  • your correct, these guys are idiots

  • hell yeah black smoke dont mean its broke

  • which makes it, which your exhaust gases smoke so strongly black...

thx for a fast Answer !

    best regards from germany...Steven

  • Come on guys. You can;t expect me to believe that this stuff is harmless. No way.

  • you honestly think carbon from the exhaust'll cause cancer?

  • sweeeeettttttttt=)

  • fucken hell ya man that's how we roll

  • I hope that's a joke, because if you watch...the black smoke...aka soot is only carbon. which carbon comes back down to the ground and decomposes.

A small car puts out more pollution than a diesel motor, in most cases

  • yeaup.

  • where did you buy your injectors from? i cant find any for my 7.3

  • youtube wont let me post links. google diy-injectors and beans diesel performance. there are plenty of places making performance injectors for the 7.3, those two are probably the best though.

  • thats just how diesels run when they r tuned for more fuel/air/boost. haha look at a duramax, cummins or powerstroke .... they will all be somewhat similar!

  • that truck is dialed in just right. even though its smokin like that its also more power to the engine. the way i see it grab the injector screw and crank that sucker to the max

  • pretty sure he knows what hes doing...

  • well, so do I, i've been a diesel mechanic for 10 years, by what i see on the video, he doesn't know what he's doing. Not only is he wasting fuel, it washes down the cylinder, increasing engine wear. In this case, decreasing the amount of fuel injected into the cylinders or increasing boost will clear up excess smoke and BOTH would dramaticaly increase horsepower and torque

  • you're right, i have no idea what im doing or talking about.

  • idiot. and it doesnt wash down the cylinders, go look it up

  • rofl you are a tard

  • POWERSTROKE RULES

  • you tree huggin pussy's powerstrokes 4 life

  • powerjoke

  • pollution ftw

  • they they do fagget

  • if they did put particle filters, how come there is so much smoke, dumbass? Go get a clue

  • Because they take the filters off u dumb piece of shit. It kills the gas mileage and power of the vehicle.

  • actually it improves it by a lot

  • dam man this smoke is bad ass!!! i own a 96 powerstroke 5 speed i got a ts chip on it and stock injectors ... how many rpm's are you at when its smokin like that? and did the stage 1's decrease your mpg?

  • Hey, they're all good, why criticize?

  • u suck dick..step ur to a POWERSTROKE

  • who the fuck buys a slummins? POWERSTROKE 4 LIFE!

  • DAM... i love black diesel smoke... turns me on big time

  • THAT A BOY!

  • hate to see all that fuel go to waste!

  • dude. if it dont smoke it aint a diesel. powersmokers all day baby keep er truckin!

  • its pretty sad when people tune there diesels for excess smoke rather than extra power.not the smartest idea.

  • you are retarded. take a look at all the high horsepower diesel trucks. all of them have "excess" smoke, unless they are using nitrous. thats because more fuel is going to result in more power which equals more smoke.

  • really its just plain wastefull you wont get that much more power out of it...its not good on a diesel to load up on fuel like that

  • not that much more power? my truck dyno'd 318rwhp and 643rwtq on the dyno. thats with stage 1 injectors and a chip only. a stock truck like mine would dyno under 200rwhp. thats a 120+ horsepower at the rear wheels, thats a significant power gain. sure i could easily add more hp with a bigger turbo which would clear out the smoke a bit, but its still going to smoke until the turbo spools up. my truck only smokes like this when the turbo isnt spooled, notice the end of the video where it clears up.

  • lol...ok when you score your cylinders and burn up your rings....dont cry

  • it's obvious you know nothing about what you are talking about..

  • lol..ive worked on locomotives for ten years...yeah just keep crankin that fuel up man...lol..and when your rings are scorched and your valves are shot..dont cry

  • you don't just keep adding more fuel to make power. you have to add more 02 also via more boost. yes u are right, dumping excess fuel alone and making black smoke runs rich and will lead to a meltdown. i'm running more than 2x the stock amount of fuel thru my motor and twice the HP, and running COOLER because i'm also running a much larger turbo.

the occasional puff of black smoke from heavy throttle input however will not do any harm whatsoever to the motor. continuous overfueling yes it will

  • there's an argument for both sides really, HOWEVER, unless you have THOUSANDS of dollars to R/D like gale banks to get a "no smoke" high horsepower tune, then you DO NEED TO SEE SOME EXCESS SMOKE TO MAKE THE BIG POWER NUMBERS.. is it wasteful ?? YES.. it is incomplete combustion.. but having that extra fuel burning after the exhaust valves open is what spools the turbo faster.. totally black smoke is not necessary, but it's a simple fact:: THE TRUCKS W/BLACK SMOKE WILL BEAT THE NONSMOKERS ALLDAY

  • Putting extra fuel into a diesel helps cools the engine, I think it does help.

  • ya know..ive heard that theory too...but ive yet to see any evidence of it....i have to shoot exhaust stacks on locomotives with an infared..and the trend is that the over fueled cylinders always show up with a hotter reading than the balanced ones....but yes it is very believable theory..and a good point that you made

  • don't think it'll help cool the engine. it'll definatly increase exhaust temp, engine oil, coolant, and intake air flow are what helps keep a diesel cool. oh yeah, that increase in exh. temp, will fry your turbo

  • You are a dumb ass. Go drive you stupid ass hybrid and shut the hell up.

  • I agree with bradford3512v

  • man global warming is bullshit its all a fuckin lie there isnt oil shortage either its thre god damn government just gettin more fucking money id run the tree huggers over in alaska with a dozer

  • Amen!

  • btw it aint global warming, its global confusion i read in the paper(i was BORED) that the world has actually cooled down

  • i read that also.

  • i see im not alone lol i think its all dumb a cars fart puts out like 4x more methane than a car does(true fact)

  • Yea that pollutes your ass. Come on! Get that black smoke out of that tube! GO! GO! GO!!! Make the earth warmer if we need to! It's fun... I love to make the earth a little hotter. I would rather burn paper than burn my ass open. Those gay sexists don't know what the shit they are talking about. Al Gore is a cute hypocrat. "STOP GLOBAL WARMING, BITCHES!!!" (Al Gore flies to Bali in his plane to say "STOP GLOBAL WARMING, BITCHES!!!" to anyone in there) Make a fucking solar power car. BLACK SMOKE!

  • Point the smoke downwards with some glue and it could be used to re-cover roads! lol.

Or they could feed it to genetically altered marsh mallows to stop them attacking people, marsh mallows r evil. its all their fault...

  • stfu!!!! Global warming is a bunch of bullshit that a bunch of science nerds make up to try and scare us!!!! go try and rescue a tree!!!!

  • what do you mean cute? that rocks you only get all that black gold because you run in a straight block not a v like powerstrokes if it wasnt for htat cummins wouldnt be who they are. most people take that for granted

  • It's cute, for a powerstroke...

guess us Cummins guys are kinda biased.

Auto's are faster but real men drive manuals

  • nice stroker, i got a 97 5spd, jus a couple questions, wuts the biggest injectors i can run without havin to dump abunch of work into the tranny, i'm only 17 n dnt have the expenses for that, second, is there only cerain chips that tony wildman will burn???

  • Man best advice i can give you is, if you cant afford to put money in your tranny, dont mess with injectors. a stock 5 spd might hold up a little better with stage 1's than an auto will, but eventually it will give. tony can only burn certain chips yes, not 100% sure on what he can and cant do though.

  • HI im just wondering what do you mean built tranny just like a shift kit or a "BUILT" tranny as in sent to a shop and totally redone, also forgive my ignorance how do you lugg an automatic?

  • weakest point of these trannies is the torque converter. stock one is good for just that, a stock truck. the one in my truck is a precision industries. also have a shift kit and all updated steel planetary gears and a billet input shaft. i wired in a torque converter lock up switch so i can lock it up whenever i want, that is how you "lug" and automatic, but probably isnt the best thing for it.

  • i got another question for ya, did yer truck have a rev limiter, my 2000 does... do you know a way to shut it off?

  • good chip with good programming will take care of the rev limiter :)

  • i got the ts chip and its still there

  • thats just TS's programming there. theres no manual governor on the truck, it all has to do with programming. check out totaldieselperformance dot com and give tony wildman a call. tell him what your looking for you can send your chip to him and he can hook you up.

  • my cummins

    will smoke that ford

  • good for you

  • thats awesome

  • That's hella bad for the environment.

  • haha who cares we all die. live life at its fullest which means fucking drive that diesel and fucking blow that black smoke!

  • Good point. Good point.

  • Shit I sent it twice.

  • Dan is an employee of Sandpiper Diesel Performance. And my Bitch

  • Sandpiper diesel performance sucks!

  • Dan is an employee of Sandpiper Diesel Performance. And my bitch

  • damn I know I'm asking you a lot of questions but I want to get my truck to look like yours. But what chip do you have?

  • its a TS performance chip but it has some custom burns on it, not their off the shelf stuff. check out totaldieselperformance dot com and give tony wildman a call. he can hook you up with a good custom chip.

  • What effect on power and low down power and cold starting did the larger injectors have?

  • You will immediately notice a huge power difference, low end, top end, all over with larger injectors. i notice no difference in cold starting with stage ones over stock injectors.

  • Would I be correct in saying that larger injectors only make a difference when increased fuelling settings have been carried out? optimum spray pattern for given max fuel?

did u fit them after the chip?

  • hey no smokin !!

  • oh shit lol. What do you mean broken tranny? I was only looking at the stage 1 160cc's

  • stock automatics WILL NOT hold the extra power of stage 1's, believe me i tried. 5 speeds will need a better clutch to hold up. BTS makes a stout automatic tranny but will cost you upwards of $4k.

  • dang alright. So what mods do you have on your truck in that video? I'm hoping to get a lot of smoke by putting on an air intake, removing the cat and muffler, and putting a banks chip in it...that's too bad on the injectors tho, i was looking forward to those lol. Thanks for your time too

  • dont waste your time with banks stuff i think you will be disappointed in it. check out TS performance and beans diesel performance to get you started also may want to check out thedieselstop webpage for lots of info. my truck has stage 1's a "built" automatic, 4" exhaust, TS chip with custom burns, intake and some other odds and ends. no problem anytime.

  • Do injectors make it smoke more? I have a 97' F-250 7.3 and it is stock right now but I am wanting to do some performance upgrades to make it smoke. Sick Truck btw

  • thanks, bigger injectors = more smoke = more power = broken tranny :). you will also need some kind of performance chip to push the bigger injectors.

  • looks sick cap'n. black smoke makes me horny ha ha

  • thats really good for the rings...

  • "just cuz it smokes, don't mean it's broke"

  • WOW :o

    I want this car

  • wat year is it? is it a 6sp?

  • it is a 96. it is an auto with a torque converter lockup switch. 6 speeds were not available until the laster model 7.3's, the older ones were 5 speeds.

  • only if you don't care two craps about people's lungs or the environment. turn the pump down a tad, still loads of power but you won't annoy so many people.

  • one its not a cummins so there is no pump to turn down its all about oil pressure in a powerstroke and yes i love my lungs full of diesel smoke

  • Damm straight the shit smells good!

  • i hope you get the problem fixed soon

  • What problem are you seeing in this vid? There is no problem, that truck just has a lot a power, and a lot a power equal a alot of smoke.

  • ausome dude

  • that was fucken cool.

    i want that.

  • BEAUTIFUL WAT U GOT IN IT

  • thanks, stage 1 injectors and a TS chip

  • i just threw some stage 2's into my '97 and i can't wait for my chip ;)

  • what kind of injectors?

  • they are 150cc DIY injectors
