@tacomadavid68 i highly doubt it geddy lee is of jewish decent robert e lee wasnt in any way affiliated with the jewish faith as far as history is recorded
@tacomadavid68 Lee is his middle name. His full name is Gary Lee Weinrib. Geddy came from his mother pronouncing Gary with her thick accent. He's not related to Robert E. Lee
One of the reasons why RUSH is still popular after all these years is because they never let fame and fortune go to their heads..They have always been down to earth guys..Also, it's the fans continued support and love of their music that has kept Geddy,Alex and Neil going!!
@brotheregghead yeah? then why is the average NFL playbook got more pages than the Bible. What you going to do, defend a sport where people stand at 3 bases all day long? Catch, throw, catch throw... zzzzzzzzzzz face it baseball is dead sport or it's giving it's last breath
Woah, man, I wasn't serious about it. I enjoy playing Football with friends. I just think it's a meathead sport. Sure, baseball isn't all action, but football has way to much stop and go.
@brotheregghead hard to gauge a typed response... no harm no foul. If Geddy loves baseball, that's good enough for me. Guess I shouldn't be dissing a sport that the singer of my all time favorite band loves...
@Zen0Ph0bus LOL....For a dead sport it still brings tons and tons of revenues. NFL is at its peak of its popularity, but its inability to internationalize will ultimately be its impending death. If you don’t like baseball, that’s another story, it doesn’t have anything to do with the actual state of the sport. Baseball, the national past time, football, the latest trend.
@aclopezestrada not to turn this thread into a football vs baseball discussion but I don't see how a sport that's been around since the early 1800's (granted it really started towards the end of the 19th century) could be called the "latest trend" - guess we've been trending for over 100 years... anyways, you let me know when the pending implosion due to lack of international popularity will affect what is known as AMERICAN FOOTBALL. Thought all we needed were americans to keep it up...
@Zen0Ph0bus I am a huge Rush and baseball fan. I love football too but one of the hardest things to do in pro sports is to hit a baseball travelling 95mph 400+feet. The thing is rarely travelling on a straight plain either. I play in a men's league where the hardest thrower throws in the high 80's and I'm a musclebound weightlifter who never hits homers. Pros hit them 450 feet! Pro ball players are amazing athletes who do more than stand around. Even fat ass pitchers! Peace.
@AngusShanks never argued the skill that it takes to play professional baseball, but if you watch the documentary "Beyond the Lighted Stage" Geddy even admits that baseball is a 19th century sport and an anachronism that has no place in the 21st century...
You are right. I own the movie of course. That's the beauty of baseball. It endures and is as popular as ever. Hard to put a finger on why. Mystical in a way.
Geddy Lee made the largest single gift donation to the Negro League Museum in KC to date. He bought a very large collection of balls signed by former Negro League players and donated them to the museum. Another example of what a real person he is.

So awesome!
I started watching baseball in '04, and I've been hooked ever since!
Don't think I know nearly enough to do the fantasy baseball thing, though LOL!

Finally, my favorite musician doesn't think football's "the shit." Baseball forever Geddy!
