  • Geddy Lee FTW

  • just another signed honus vagner commercial on the tube

    catching winds?

  • baseball and Rush , 2 of my favorite things . You must pay attention to understand Rush or baseball and truly appreciate it

  • wait.... This guy is talking to GEDDY LEE, and the best thing he can think of to talk to him is Fantasy Baseball?!?

  • if you came in 2nd to geddy in fantasy baseball your team is good enough to win the world series

  • I wonder if the person who one it this time jumped up dancing & gloating: "In your face, In your face Geddy!" lol.

  • Lee is Legend.

  • @christian0daspit... Because Geddy Lee's real name is Jerry Wienrib.

  • At 0:38 it said "'RUSH' bassist" They forgot keyboards and singing

  • the shirt he has on is the shirt he wore at my very first consert!!!!!!!!

  • Was Geddy Lee related to Robert E Lee?

  • @tacomadavid68 i highly doubt it geddy lee is of jewish decent robert e lee wasnt in any way affiliated with the jewish faith as far as history is recorded

  • @tacomadavid68 no..... Geddy Lee is Canadian, Robert E. Lee was American

  • @HardikG121 They could still be related.

  • @tacomadavid68 Lee is his middle name. His full name is Gary Lee Weinrib. Geddy came from his mother pronouncing Gary with her thick accent. He's not related to Robert E. Lee

  • @HardikG121 Geddy Lee use to wear a t-shirt with a picture of the Confederate flag on in when he would preform.

  • Comment removed

  • he talks nothing like he sings

  • @DaveGuitarShred Cause his voice is lower these days his speaking voice was so high in the late 70's and early 80's

  • maybe geddy might be a manager on a major league team one day..how awesome would that be?

  • it is a wrong em b'hoyo

  • 2112 AND gambling?.... cool.

  • what about the voice of geddy lee, how did it get so high? i wonder if he talks like an ordinary guy

i know him and he does

than your my fact chekking cuz

  • @alexgillespie1 hahaha i just got off that video! and looked at this to find out if he talked like an ordinary guy!

  • I enjoy all sports though no matter what they are .. Except basketball i'm too bad at that ahaha :D

  • I'm pretty sure soccers the international sport baseball is American like hockey is Canadian.

  • Ha, Geddy Lee is really in to that.

  • the league sounds sick

  • "I guess that's why they call me, they call me the working man"

  • geddy thinking "what an ass!" =)

  • RUSH....BASEBALL.....LIFE

  • rush.....baseball......life

  • Geddy Lee is just totally awsome. He is epic.

  • not even a baseball fan and i watched this whole interview, i'll listen to gedd talk about anything! Rush Rules!

  • Geddy is just awesome...i wanna hang out with him

  • *whispers* "If you build it.....Geddy will come"

  • Greatest Rock Band Ever.

  • no Geddy football! FOOTBALL!!! Come join my league! 10 years running, highly competitive, great cash prizes! ALL RUSH FANS!!!

  • @Zen0Ph0bus

    Football is a MEATHEAD sport.

  • @brotheregghead yeah? then why is the average NFL playbook got more pages than the Bible. What you going to do, defend a sport where people stand at 3 bases all day long? Catch, throw, catch throw... zzzzzzzzzzz face it baseball is dead sport or it's giving it's last breath

  • @Zen0Ph0bus

Woah, man, I wasn't serious about it. I enjoy playing Football with friends. I just think it's a meathead sport. Sure, baseball isn't all action, but football has way to much stop and go.

  • @brotheregghead hard to gauge a typed response... no harm no foul. If Geddy loves baseball, that's good enough for me. Guess I shouldn't be dissing a sport that the singer of my all time favorite band loves...

  • @Zen0Ph0bus LOL....For a dead sport it still brings tons and tons of revenues. NFL is at its peak of its popularity, but its inability to internationalize will ultimately be its impending death. If you don’t like baseball, that’s another story, it doesn’t have anything to do with the actual state of the sport. Baseball, the national past time, football, the latest trend.

  • @aclopezestrada not to turn this thread into a football vs baseball discussion but I don't see how a sport that's been around since the early 1800's (granted it really started towards the end of the 19th century) could be called the "latest trend" - guess we've been trending for over 100 years... anyways, you let me know when the pending implosion due to lack of international popularity will affect what is known as AMERICAN FOOTBALL. Thought all we needed were americans to keep it up...

  • @Zen0Ph0bus I am a huge Rush and baseball fan. I love football too but one of the hardest things to do in pro sports is to hit a baseball travelling 95mph 400+feet. The thing is rarely travelling on a straight plain either. I play in a men's league where the hardest thrower throws in the high 80's and I'm a musclebound weightlifter who never hits homers. Pros hit them 450 feet! Pro ball players are amazing athletes who do more than stand around. Even fat ass pitchers! Peace.

  • @AngusShanks never argued the skill that it takes to play professional baseball, but if you watch the documentary "Beyond the Lighted Stage" Geddy even admits that baseball is a 19th century sport and an anachronism that has no place in the 21st century...

  • @Zen0Ph0bus

You are right. I own the movie of course. That's the beauty of baseball. It endures and is as popular as ever. Hard to put a finger on why. Mystical in a way.

  • @Zen0Ph0bus Baseball is the best sport ever, so many possiblities

  • @Zen0Ph0bus you are stupid, you controlled by ESPN and society, you brain dead fuck

  • Geddy Lee made the largest single gift donation to the Negro League Museum in KC to date. He bought a very large collection of balls signed by former Negro League players and donated them to the museum. Another example of what a real person he is.

  • @rushnut1958

I'm from KC and didn't know this. Great information!

  • there's definitely overlap between the math skills needed to understand WHIP versus ERA and and getting your head around the time signature of Cygnus X-1.

  • What about the voice of Geddy Lee?

How did it get so high?

I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy... "I know him, and he does."

  • i love playing baseball, i tolerate watching it, fantasy baseball...maybe if i was a stoner i'd like it. anyway, rush is amazing

  • should'a take that left turn at albuquerque BU2B store away forever

  • Geddy would've been a good shortstop!

  • @mrthundaboots he said that he wanted to be a pitcher for a few years

  • guy on the right looks like the bastard child of Matt Damon and Seth Rogen.

  • @TheSurvivorGuy lol...for sure dude....lol...mint!

  • Geddy knows his shit about fantasy. Funny line about Bako. Hey Geddy, any time you need another guy for a H2H league let me know.

  • I'm a Yanks fan, and it's great to see Geddy right behind home plate at Toronto Blue Jays home games whenever they play NY.

I'll always point him out to my Wife..."Hery there's Geddy Lee"...not that she gives two shits.

  • hey batter batter hey better batter hey batter batter schwing. vhroom.

  • @ePhilosopher9 can a de can a de can a de can a de, ss wiiiiiing battahhhhh!

  • @wvskrj first crack

  • When I met Geddy at Dearborn Music for the My Favorite Headache record, we talked baseball for the 30 seconds I got to spend with him. I wore a Tiger road cap, of couse he is a Blue Jay season ticket holder, but commented that he likes the Tigers. It was so cool. He is a terrific guy. It was a great moment that I will remember.

  • I went to see the blue jays play a game of baseball and I saw Geddy Lee on the big screen, he was sitting in the front row down in front of me !!!

  • Oh i thaut he would talk differnt

  • one of the greatest living musicians.

  • Geddy Lee had the most esoteric collectibles possible. Autographed Negro league baseballs. Then he did the coolest, most down to Earth thing possible, he donated them to the new Negro league museum in Kansas City. Thank you Geddy Lee. TSR

  • the only reason he is doing that is because he has too. Look at any interview like this one with any band, they cut them off all the time because they only have a very limited time and HAVE to get all the questions out. But that doesnt mean i like it :| lol

  • @TheSKCProductions,

I agree! That was the completely incorrect way to introduce Geddy Lee to the viewers. Allow me to demonstrate the correct way

"Hey it's Chuichupachichi, and I know it's ESPN but if you wanna hear sports today then change the fuck'n channel. Today I brought in a big, bad bass & a stack of amps cuz standing right next to me is... well, if you don't know who this man is then please remove your NASA space suit before entering quarantine & welcome back to Earth, you space cadet

  • this interviewer is just clueless

  • hes extremely talented and seems 2 become more charismatic looking now,

then when the early days lol.

  • Best bassist of all time.

  • WRONG....JOHN ENTWISTLE

  • No I'm right, that's all there is too it... Followed by Cliff Burton.

  • all of rush has aged but geddy doesent look any different

  • Geddy Lee is like fine wine,....he gets better with age!!!!

  • Well, I'm not a sports person, I certainly cannot claim to share Mr. Lee's baseball passion - and I have no clue what he's talking about. But there's no doubt in my mind that he's right. XD

    Of course, he's Geddy f***ing Lee! \m/

  • Wow Geddy knows his baseball

  • Nice interview.

  • Geddy is a legend

  • Love You Geddy!

  • How cool is Geddy Lee, seriously? Nicest guy, famous musician, sold millions of albums, and loves fantasy baseball just like anyone else? That's awesome!

  • You forgot to add kick ass glasses!

  • I got no problem with the interviewer .. he's just freaked out getting the chance to stand next to Geddy and have a conversation with him.

  • Geddy has amazing seats right behind home plate in Toronto. He probably schedules tours around the home opener every year. Seriously.

  • 1;43 looks like he's staring into my soul

  • Itzhak Perlman is also extremely passionate about baseball.

  • Geddy Lee knows what he is talkin about when it comes to baseball! I play fantasy but nothin like his league.

  • Pop Quiz: what do Baseball and Music have in common?? Answer: Numbers

  • he looks like he's thinking "god, i can't wait to get away from this idiot"

  • lollll thts true

  • @catzrthecoolest Isn't that how we all look all the time?

  • ya, geddy is a down to earth guy, very easy going, very human, the music and success hasnt changed him for the worse thats forsure!

  • geddy is such a nice bloke but so are the rest of the rush guys

  • What a down to earth guy Geddy is. A real human being who isn't some pretentious a-hole.

  • Which one of these posts is Geddy Lee?

  • I love Rush, I am Canadian, I love Baseball, I am a Prog Rock Musician...WOOT! :D

  • is this spring 09???

Sooo coool seeing one of my heros talking about another love of mine...puts them on earth with me :)

  • I think it's 08

  • Its cool seeing a rock icon (Im a huge rush fan) that isnt some recovering heroin slimeball that downs a bottle of jack while on camera. Not a big baseball fan, but this is another reason why I like these guys. They are solid people that just live their lives and have not succumbed to the MTV lifestyle BS nonsense.

  • just one of the million and one great things about rush

  • @Orion6699

    Amen....

  • thats awesome

  • WOW! I did not know that Geddy Lee Plays Fantacy Baseball! I also did not know that he is in second place! That's awesome! Let's hope that Lee will hit a home run, or more than one! Geddy, congradulations!

  • o he loves baseball

  • Geddy Lee Of RUSH Makes A Cameo Appearance In The Film "I LOVE YOU MAN" In Theaters On March 20, 2008 VERY COOL..........

  • hes also jewish.

  • yeaaaa. no

  • no seriously he is

  • geddy doesnt speak like a canadian at all. His accent is pure US.

  • Or maybe you just think that canadians have accents when we dont.

  • eh?

  • Yes?

  • We dont have accents, and not just Canadians say eh so...

  • us canaidians do have some accent not all of us i know i do. Geddy Lee,Alex Lifeson,Neil Peart their canaidian and they aint got accents

  • yeah, we dont!

  • Listen to an interview of him during the late 70s. You might have a different opinion.

Accents are susceptible to change, just like any other human behaviour.

  • Sure Canadians have an accent. Just ask any Maineahh. TSR

  • By "one league", did they mean the American League or just baseball in general.

  • This video was pretty funny. The guy is a tool, but listening to Geddy talk about eligibility for players was awesome.

  • 40 million albums, isn't it? He needs to get his facts straight.

  • he works for ESPN not MTV

  • Even MTV today wouldn't know...maybe in the early '80s.

  • Geddy LEE rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You know, you never would expect a guy like Geddy Lee have a passion for fantasy baseball... But it's cool.

  • Fuck this fool asking the questions. They should of just had Geddy sit down and talk into the camera.

  • Bassball haha

  • lolololol =p

  • sigh...i luuuv geddy

BTW...does anybody have the link to the vid he did for fantasy baseball? the fantasy baseball is freeeeeeeeee one? =]

  • I loved it. Even though I'm not totally into fantasy baseball, it was great to see Geddy speak so intelligently and passionately about something other than music. He's obviously a very well-rounded person.

  • Matthew Berry is an annoying radio DJ-sounding car salesman wannabe who needs to pull Geddy's cock from his mouth.

  • I agree. It is awesome to see a musician speaking about other interests.

  • totally!

  • I absolutely LOVE Geddy Lee!!! It's great to see him talk about baseball! Geddy is SO AWESOME; I could watch him and listen to him ALL DAY!!

  • So awesome!

I started watching baseball in '04, and I've been hooked ever since!

Don't think I know nearly enough to do the fantasy baseball thing, though LOL!

  • Finally, my favorite musician doesn't think football's "the shit." Baseball forever Geddy!

  • Geddy Lee is awesome.

  • 5:09 is so cute! I can't get enough of his smile nor his laugh, it's addicting.

  • I love Rush! limelight is my favorite song. B)
