why would it be harder to do it half rep then full rep? someone pls explain that to me. for example.. if u do half reps pushups and full range of motion pushups, which one is the hardest? and how many did u complete from each one? try it out. fuckheads
@saaandberg trust me, when you lock all the way completely out, it goes to ur triceps. But my comment was before I watched the video, so I know what you mean by half reps lol
he could have easy pushed 30+ out 'locking out' but he doesn't want to injure himself. Why would he want to impress you by locking out each rep and risk sustaining an injury? If you upload anything close to this, than come at him.
i heard that doing that kind of bench where you dont go all the way up is to work on the hardest part of the bench where most of us get stuck, because that's the part where your chest is being strained the most
he is putting all the strain on the chest, in reality this is harder then doing the full rep because he isn't locking his elbows at the top ( hes not resting). i find it hilarious how people talk shit when in 99% of you cant even rep this once... so stfu....
@EnvelopedInDarkness i find it harder cause your not stopping to rest and your focusing on chest, but i normally bench going all the way up, touch chest
that was more like 60 half reps, 25-30-35 full reps, maybe. give credit when credits due. still a strong guy, half reps or not. 15 regular reps? I can do 15 regular max reps 225, and I cant do 60 half reps, fuckin idiot. I weigh 155 btw.
Half rep I don't care how big you r do it right man!!! Post another video doing it right I bet you can still get alot. I got 27 I know you can get more
Half reps or not, this guy is bigger than any of us on here so obviously he knows what the fuck he's doing and he's an animal. I'd like to see any one of you throw 225 around like a fucking ragdoll like this man. When you can half rep 225 60 times, let me know. This is still a big ass motherfucker who can outlift 95% of us on here. So i suggest you keep your mouths shut.
@29thID guys a pussy and so are you there not half reps there 1/4 reps and hes a little bitch i would slap hm with dick and he crumble like the fag he is....oh yeah get off his dick i think he cummed in your mouth already homo much
thats insane.. got any tips for me? I am trying to work evenly on strength and mass, i am 16, started going to the gym about 4 months ago and I have a 225 1rm bench with powerlifting form, and about 205-210 with a regluar flat back feet loose form. I am going up about 5 pounds every 2 weeks now.. what kind of sets should I do for strength?
Even though he isnt going all the way up, if he did he could have a high possibility of tearing a muscle in his chest. For some people its better for them to do half reps like these
I'm not going to be like these other retards and say you have to lockout every rep, because that's not how you should bench press. However, these are definitely half reps, he is barely breaking parallel on the way up.
When you are tall going full rep isn't effectively hitting your chest if you were to do 1/2 rep. Long arms = more work on your tricep. I usually go 3/4 of the way and go back down. You can actually feel your pec being hit.
this is fucking faggoty. what terrible form. how about raising the bar?
short armed pussy little faggot. i'd take that bar, with all the weights on it, and slam it straight across that pansy's face. then spit and piss on him as he bled and drooled on the floor.
those reps are fine. muscle building reps. when you lockout like most people do, its kinda like a mini break for your muscles. what he was doing was pure 60 reps no break. crazy shit
to all you people who are upset and or confused about him doing "half reps":your stupid. this is a workout that targets your chest AND ONLY your chest. when you do the full workout you target your chest AND your triceps.
I don't get how NO ONE in youtube says he reps less than 200 lbs at the bench press...what a retarded community.
Here's a nice tip for everyone, before taking into consideration what a youtube user says about how much he benches, divide that weight /3, for example:
HAHAHA I OWN, I BENCH 300 LBS, that means he barely benches 100 lbs, and he probably do it while his spotter is doing a bent over barbell row
60 half res with 225? 30 full reps with 225? either way the guy is a tank. iremember when i was a novice lifter who did nothing but bitch....yeah ill admit im annoyed he called this 225x60....instead of 225x60 speed reps...but still calling him a piece of shit and not giving him credit for being a tank is crazy.
Um Getfuckedubitch.....I weigh 181 lbs. My max lifts are Bench..370, squat...510, deadlift, 525. All of these were done RAW and I have never taken any type of PED. Go fuck yourself.
Half repping steroid loser. BUT WHY SHOULD YOUR PATHETIC FORM BE ANY SURPRISE TO ANYONE, SEEING AS YOU'RE SO USED TO TAKING THE EASY WAY OUT WITH YOUR PROLONGED STEROID ABUSE.
Early on ( before the muscles get taxed) , doing half reps is much much easier than doing full reps. Once the muscles get taxed, doing full reps are easier because you can pause at lockout and give the chest muscles a little time to recuperate. Nobody on the planet can do more full reps than they can half reps. A bunch of you guys are pinheads who have probably never lifted or you would know this. My guess is he could probably do about 45ish full reps from what I saw....still very impressive.
@Scottie12951 THATS def not true seeing as how a half rep like those hit your pecs more and a FULL rep gets that extra strain on your triceps and seeing as how triceps are a smaller muscle group then chest... its pretty obvious that those are easier then a full rep. THEY ARE different and for some could be harder cause its def a change up but when it comes down to the muscle's... its easier.
why is everyone complaining? this is good form AND he's doing wide grip he doesnt have to lockout out for his reps, he's obviously a powerbuilder and not a bodybuilder. so he's doing this workout the best way for his field of weightlifting.
okay everyone shut the fuck up bout the half reps thx:) thats how ur sposed to do them when ur doing high reps like that and even if its a lil easier id like to see any of u posting a vid doing this lol. gudd job btw
@fbgzontop Yeah, these people are fucking retards. You do reps like that to build your chest. I love people that put him down like that, when they can't do anywhere near the FULL reps he can do.
actually half reps are easier because your triceps are not getting any work and you triceps get tired first and when your only doin half reps it only works out your pecs and your pecs don't get tired as easy so therefor half reps are easier
What a waste of a view. I unknowingly incremented the total view count to watch someone do 1/3rd touch n go reps w/ 225 Lbs. This is like the dudes at the gym saying the max "this much" only to find that there spotter never lets go of the bar & is basically getting a spot on shrugs. Sorry, not impressed... Let's see if you how many full reps you can do w/ 315 Lbs (me being 198Lbs) & I'll answer back with a vid post of my own, no spotter.
@monster5450 well the muscles don't necessarily rest while doing full reps unless you pause at the top and lock out your arms. full reps while maintaining a constant pace is much more difficult although there is benefit in doing partial reps.
@monster5450 i have a question. i just started lifting again after 7 months and ive hit a plateu on bench and i just cant seem to get out of the 205lbs range. any tips you could give i would appreciate.
look you dumb shits when you do half reps ur not extending all the way way which means its harder after a period of time because u are not resting the muscle.
those half reps are actually harder than full reps when u do it that many times because with full reps u pause and get a short break on this he has no rest time for his arms and chest so hes actually doing more work
@geordys1 actually that's bullshit, when i bench i do full range and then when i'm tired i do half reps just to get some extra reps out of it. don't believe me try it. do bench full range from top to botom see how many u do, then next week do half reps, u'll probably do more on the half reps! if not then ur weekest part on the bench would be the bottom part as most ppl don't ever touch the bottom to their chest! those ppl r fuckin losers like ur self bitch!
@BigBadBenFromCov Half reps? last time i heard they were Pec reps as the top half of the motion uses more triceps he's trying to keep the stress on the chest.
hes not locking out so he can isolate his chest, no point to work in the triceps when u doing 60 something reps he clearly doesn't need the compound effort. Doin this has no benefit to his gains i bet when he jumps to a 400 lb bench he locks out.
His reps are just fine. Next time your in the gym try his 3/4 rep and you might find it is just as hard as going to lockout and getting that half second rest.
Non of us should be critiquing Justin Harris. He as winning National level Body Builder, and a winning elite power lifter. He is also smart as hell. Im sure he craps out more brain cells in a day than most of us have in our dumb ass heads.
well you retards dont know what your talking about thoes arent half reps ur still gonna get the same if not more of a pump in your chest pluse he did 225 for 60 fuck give the guy some credit you turds do it for 10 if its your good DAY!! haters
@tommyc97 3/4 reps is acceptable.. you need to get the weight above the 3/4 mark actually because thats the hardest part... Going to half is actually worse than doing a half rep, because you never get to hit that 3/4 mark... You tool!
@PokerVertigo You're so pathetic mate. He's just isolating his chest and not going lockout because then he'll be using his triceps. You're just a dumb weekend warrior. Give the guy some credit and stop being a retarded hater.
@hellere10banditters lol soo far the only person i agree with lol. People don't get it. NOTHING wrong with a half rep cause it IS all chest BUT then again it isn't a full rep which is fucking fine seeing as how thats animal strength right there
Sure this guy is strong but that's not the only issue here - that's a pretty short stroke - maybe 8-10" - and I don't think he would have gotten credit for any of those in the NFL test.
Stopping just short of lockout is OK but those were more like half reps. The next logical place to take this would be someone else maybe just pushing the bar 1-inch off the chest & counting those as reps.
There has to be some sort of standard for form if someone wants to claim the most reps with 225 on YouTube.

inveritasss 1 year ago
hes not locking out so he can isolate his chest, no point to work in the triceps when u doing 60 something reps he clearly doesn't need the compound effort. Doin this has no benefit to his gains i bet when he jumps to a 400 lb bench he locks out.
pellesh1 1 year ago
the pace he was going, look like he could did another 20 or so
system278 2 years ago
i bet he only does bench every day, no squat!!, just kidding his quads look pretty big from just that
Kaotic009 2 years ago
He wasnt being serious in this video. This dude is amazingly strong! He couldve probably repped 20 more. He stopped cuz he was out of breath.

I can perform approx. 45 full reps with 225. The only people who benefit from 1/4 reps are those guys who use PEDs.

@Jeffro451 sure you can

Im sure he craps out more brain cells in a day than most of us have in our dumb ass heads.

well you retards dont know what your talking about thoes arent half reps ur still gonna get the same if not more of a pump in your chest pluse he did 225 for 60 fuck give the guy some credit you turds do it for 10 if its your good DAY!! haters

PokerVertigo 2 years ago 59
@PokerVertigo half reps are harder u dumb fuck , keeps the weight on the muscle u coward
tommyc97 1 year ago
@tommyc97 3/4 reps is acceptable.. you need to get the weight above the 3/4 mark actually because thats the hardest part... Going to half is actually worse than doing a half rep, because you never get to hit that 3/4 mark... You tool!
PokerVertigo 1 year ago
@tommyc97 no full reps aew harder cuz they travel more distance

@hellere10banditters And you're an inbred shithead that's blind..
PokerVertigo 11 months ago
@PokerVertigo You're so pathetic mate. He's just isolating his chest and not going lockout because then he'll be using his triceps. You're just a dumb weekend warrior. Give the guy some credit and stop being a retarded hater.
hellere10banditters 11 months ago
@hellere10banditters lol soo far the only person i agree with lol. People don't get it. NOTHING wrong with a half rep cause it IS all chest BUT then again it isn't a full rep which is fucking fine seeing as how thats animal strength right there
blakog949 9 months ago
hmm well thats still good shit, however very very short strokes, arms never made it past 90? I said a good 45 if u extended more..good shit tho
thedns69 3 years ago
Sure this guy is strong but that's not the only issue here - that's a pretty short stroke - maybe 8-10" - and I don't think he would have gotten credit for any of those in the NFL test.
Stopping just short of lockout is OK but those were more like half reps. The next logical place to take this would be someone else maybe just pushing the bar 1-inch off the chest & counting those as reps.
There has to be some sort of standard for form if someone wants to claim the most reps with 225 on YouTube.
Neil6000 3 years ago
that looked better than some of the junk lifts Ive seen alot of football players do when doing 225 for max reps.
83batteringram 3 years ago
i hope your not a football player cause that wouldnt count
