On the other hand, you could buy 4 pounds of reactive dye and dye more than 400 shirts for under $100, not including shirts. You'd have to buy washing soda and rubber gloves, of course too.
I'd recommend the "REAL" way, not the "instant gratification" goal. Quality is subjective... sometimes.
I can understand hat with kids, you want different though, but if you had a sleepover....
i agree.. YES i know they are little kids having fun.. they would of been better off doing it the other way.. i remember making tie-dye-shirts in 5th grade and these kids should of did the way with the rubber bands.
Wear dust mask to mix dye and soda ash they are carcinogens in powder form. Let it wear off of your kids bleach is bad for them. Mixing with hot water kills your blue colors.
for the millionth time- this is a paint- not a dye and you don't mix anything. its completely safe, nontoxic and all that great stuff... that's why this is even better than tie dye!!!
Not just that, but those dyes aren't carcinogens, but are termed "sensitizers".
Sodium carbonate a carcinogen? Why is it an approved food additive? Why is it considered morer "green" to use in place of dish and laundry detergents?
This is cool for kids, but it doesn't look at all like traditional tie dye. Your just spray painting fabric in scrunched up designs.
