i got a problem

i went from 1GB DDR2 to 3GB DDR2 with my acer aspire, i had an extra ram slot so i bought a 2GB DDR2, which made my laptop a 3Gigger, i was amazed of how fast it was, so i went to buy another 2Gigger, and had the two 2GB DDR2 installed "personally", and found out that, my acer aspire could not start up, is there like a way to not have to use the 1GB DDR2, and have two 2DDR2 running as "4GB ram"?

if you have a 32 bit OS then the max is 3 GB you will need to upgrade to a 64 Bit OS for 4 to work.

my cousin has a 1GB vista labtop lol. It's really slow but 2gig just gives it more speed. nothing more. 2Gig is only the minimum i think is because 1Gig is too slow becuase vista uses programs such as aero that hogs up ram.

Because Home Basic is the cheapest and the only things it can't do that other versions can are random tasks that I can do myself for free with 3rd party applications. Apart from media center, that's really the only valuable feature Vista comes with, but I wouldn't use windows media center even if I had access to it.

People can change the file from a dll to a mp3, dlls are not executed and are still harmful, not every virus is a exe

If you change the extension of a harmful .dll file, it doesn't work. It won't be treated as a .dll file and can't harm your system because Windows won't read it as a .dll file. If you don't believe me, go to C:\Windows\System32 and change all the .dll files in there to .mp3 files and see if your computer still functions properly.

You have to have "Hide extensions for known file types" unchecked in the view tab of your folder options to change extensions.
