Time is relative. The further you move away from mass the faster the rate of time moves in relation to time that is closest to mass. So basically the clocks on a satellite are moving faster than the clocks here on earth. is not an "illusion of the senses"

@Caulrules Time is not so much an invention, time is a measurement, mainly of the movement of celestial objects and our correlation to them. With or without measuring it, things go from one state to the next, you could say the way we measure time is relevant but thats about it. The earth takes approx 365.2 days to rotate the sun, a day is the way we measure the earths rotation, so a year is 365.2 x the rotations of the earth, its what were measuring that is important. The movements still exist.

The theory that nothing will happen might be true, but if something does happen, it might be of cosmic origin, like the appearance of a nebula on Earth, or (worst-case scenario) a gamma-ray burst (which is guaranteed to wipe out all life like if we were viruses, which is ironic, because we are plaguing the planet anyway) ;-)

Time is a human invention, it does not effect anything important to the universe. Do you think the feeble and idiotic human mind could comprehend, or know more than 1/100000000 of what information there is out there? No I'm tired of this bullshit, we know, compared to the universe nothing. If the universe was a clock and started at 11:59 its 4:59 now, and Earth has been here since 48 seconds ago. We know nothing.

@Caulrules Time is not so much an invention, time is a measurement, mainly of the movement of celestial objects and our correlation to them. With or without measuring it, things go from one state to the next, you could say the way we measure time is relevant but thats about it. The earth takes approx 365.2 days to rotate the sun, a day is the way we measure the earths rotation, so a year is 365.2 x the rotations of the earth, its what were measuring that is important. The movements still exist.

It cut off my message,but I'd said that I am not sure how accurate this theory is but I would certainly like to see things work out this way.
The spiral theory coming from the graphing of the Golden Spiral is very creative, and even accurate. So at the very least it gives me hope, and leaves me with the feeling that 2012 is something to look forward to if anything, as opposed to something that is to fear.
Given anything does happen as I am for better or worse still skeptical but hopeful!)
