Just throwing it out there - finding this video easily saved my sanity. I'm looking for some kind of inspiration for performing this song and the number of people who gave Sally a Brooklyn or Spanish accent could drive a person crazy!! At least the German is fitting for the show! I have no complaints!
brilliant version ! those i do take the point that sally bowles is ment to be english so the german twang as you call it wasn't really needed but after awhile i didn't notice, just at the beginning, loved the comedy !
Oh wow! After the Minelli version this is definitely my favourite version of this song. Just great, and she adds some lovely comic touches to the song.
Caroline is Australian, This concert opened the Adelaide international Cabaret Festival, when talking to the audiance she is not in character, this her natural accent.
What a fresh and wonderful performance! Love her!

Impressive! I saw Caroline in De-Lovely and was really pleased by her performance. Perhaps the best number in that movie!

Yeah but when she's singing she sounds as if she's trying to be German or something...

The clue is in the title "Mein Herr" and the fact its from Cabaret! Hence the slight german twang you can here!

Yes I know it's from Cabaret! Which is why I was expecting to hear the ENGLISH Sally Bowles!

Well, you don't sing Mein Herrrrrrrr. You sing Mein He-uh. It's called good singing technique.
