I love watching people like this that can play just by ear. The Batman 1989 music composed by Danny Elfman really is a marvel and possibly his best work? The album really is worth a listen. He also composed the music for Batman: The Animated Series. Really is one of the best composers around.
I've loved this movie since i was a kid but it's a movie that actually gets better and better as you get older. The dark tones from Tim Burton and the amazing portail of the joker by Jack Nicholson can only really be appreciated by an older audience. This piano piece is a beautifull portrayal of the movie score by Danny Elfman and i commend it greatly.
@Clarkeford20 the only thing you are wrong about is that ANY audience can appreciate classic Batman, and his epicly gothic theme songs. the darkness, the mystery, the fear and wonder they inspire is something that everyone feels who hears it. Most of the TV and movie appearances of Batman were meant only for children. The exception is Tim Burton's movies, and Batman: the Animated Series. Pick any kid off the street and show them this or Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and they'll know its good.
@DarthRaukrist well i agree that any audience can appreciate it, and yes kids will watch this, as myself and my friends did at a young age, and know its good. Im just saying that a child will not appreciate the undertones used by Burton mainly in Nicholsons potrayal of The Joker the same way an adult will. Thats what is so good about this film. It just gets better as you get older as you start to notice more about the film.
@Clarkeford20 I'm 29 and first watched Burton's Batman when I was 7 years old and off-and-on since then. Saw it again last month and it's still as dark and moody as the first time I saw it. Nicholson's performance was as sinister as ever. Couple that with a score by Danny Elfman and it was guaranteed to be a classic. I'm really sad that the (young) moviegoers of today see "Dark Knight" as a benchmark. Heck, most weren't born when "Batman" came out in 1989. Today, movies are so CGI dependent.
@DarkenedTheater lucky for you i was born in 1985 4 years before batman 89 came out and right now im 25 i first saw the movie on tape when i was 5 years old and i saw the movie again yesterday and its absolutly as dark and as moody from the first time i saw it including batman returns to me tim burton's version of batman will always be my kind of batman and danny elfman score will always be the best batman score and micheal keaton will always be the best batman

Still love these old Batman movies by Tim Burton better.
Thank you for adding the music sheets:)

this music makes the scene so iconic...he puts the flowers down on the pavement at 1:23

Guys - it's the part where Bruce lays the flowers down where his folks died - quite a powerful moment (especially at 1:30).
And to the person playing the piano - well done, beautifully played :)

You need to be playing on a grand piano, preferably a Steinway. You're far too good for an upright :)
