I say we evacuate all of NYC.... Tear the place down and rebuild the entire city!! Dig up the entire city all the way down to bellow the subways... Put in new subways, new pipes, rebuild all the buildings, new roads, new bay and docks, new everything ! Leaving a few of the more famous buildings alone just reinforcing them...
NYC's infrastructure is seriously old and crippled. The politicians are sleezy, so of course there's no money to make the upgrades necessary--of course it's not as bad as Los Angeles, with that preposition 13 deal.
Why does it take two hours to shut down a pipe carrying steam? I am glad that not everyone buys the Mayor's excuses...look for a blip in the transportation stocks for evidence of insider trading/prior knowledge. It is fairly obvious that the transformer explosion caused the water and steam pipes to rupture...
maybe if the united states invested into BUILDING NEW infrastructure and rebuilding stuff that was built before our great grandparents, that would fix things.. watch out when subways start collapsing. All they do is renovate, but there comes a time when things need to be replaced.
@YugoMix republicans dont want the government to do that (improve infrastructure) because they say its socialism and a.k.a. big government spending (?) they want the private sector to initiate the building, which is never gonna happen apparently since no business can profit from building new pipelines (unless they put tolls and pay-per-flush) lol
@gleefanatic2011 pay-per-flush? last time that was actually tried it was a greedy government: bungalowbillscw.blogspot.com/2009/02/australias-toilet-flushing-tax.html
