  • The original 1980 album had a full size card of all the lyrics with pics. I have two copies. Anbody want my original w/ lyric card and bonus gigantic peel-off sticker?

  • i would love to see the whole gig

  • That was the best club ever!

  • I remember Smash Hits published the lyrics, but I don't remember much of it... chorus is I think 'don't be stupid don't be limp, no girl likes to love a wimp, dance and make fun nicely done, come and be my number one'... the rest I don't remember. Wasn't the singer Swiss?

  • I remember going to Hazel O connor at the Rainbow in Finsbury Park and the Mo-Dettes were the support act. Its the only time ive seen the place go wild for the support act and Hazel just couldnt match the energy of these girls. I saw them many times after that and it always a good show. Its such a shame they split up as thjey would have been big strs and the lead singers looks.

  • Where can I purchase this and all your other concert recordings> Are they for sale?

  • @SoulstylistJukebox Many of my handmade DVD's are available on my website, I just added a link in the description here but for some reason you can't add links in the comment reply boxes. There are no plans yet to make this available but maybe one day ....

  • I couldn't make out the lyrics 30 years or today, great song nonetheless and great club

  • I have a 7" single version from when I was a teenager & the lyrics are on the sleeve.

  • I've only heard this song recently. When was it released? Does anyone know the lyrics?

  • it was released around 1980. It was a huge hit in the dance clubs. I believe it is recently re-released on Cherry Records. Their songs are really worth buying on record, very high energy and nice clean production. I can not make out the lyrics and wish I could, would like to sing along!

  • @allister1964 there's another vid of this song on youtube, Mo-Dettes - WHITE MICE - RARE VIDEO. somebody posted the lyrics there

  • brilliant. i loved this song at the time, and hearing it now for the first time in almost 30 years, well it sounds even better now. they were gorgeous, yet stong and in control and not exploited sexually as many female acts still are today. is there a video for 'tonight' that was a great song also

  • They were awesome.

  • I saw them in Montreal circa 1980 perform a high energy set for about 45 minutes. totally captivating!

  • i seen them in ny around '80

  • You say this is an excerpt... where's the rest? Fantastic stuff.

  • It is newly re-mastered to some DV tape in a cabinet in my studio. The original master tapes are stored elsewhere.

  • I remember the Mo-Dette's from Coventry - fabulous. White Mice was - is - one of the great pop songs

  • Brilliant! The quality of the video is excellent. Saw many shows at Hurrah - Young Marble Giants, ESG, A Certain Ratio,

Our Daughters Wedding, Pigbag, Polyrock, Pylon. The VJ's at the club burned images of Godzilla with the sounds of this song and John Foxx's Underpass into my brain. Would not trade those days for anything in the world!

  • Thank you for posting this. Need more though. These girls rocked. I'll have to put "The Story So Far" on the turntable today, (and remember the mad crush I had on them).

  • So chuffed I looked this up. Instant flashback to brilliant times. I WORSHIPPED the Mo-Dettes as the only female band who didn't look a bit uncomfortable and apologetic on stage. EVER! I shall be on this bit of You Tube for some time.............................

  • Another Mo-Dette is here! Thank you, Ramona, for contributing here. Love your vocals, particularly on "The Sparrow".

  • Hi Louis. So great to hear from you! How are you?

  • Saw them 3x in London and 2x in Los Angeles.

    There must be more!

  • Thanks for posting. Wish it was the entire song, but this is nice to see and hear. Great that all 4 ladies get some camera time. And oh, that bassline...

  • I am dying for more than a minute and six seconds of this band

  • I spent many a fun night with the Mo-dettes on their "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly tour in '81-'82. I am so sorry to have lost contact with them over the years. If anyone remembers me, this is Louis in New York, please send me an IM. I'd love to hear from you.

  • Is that our Tour manager? Beautiful Louis Tropia? Come back boy,

  • What's an IM? Peace Love & Pussy Jane x x x

  • an IM is an Instant Message

  • I suppose PM would have been the proper acronym to use. Anyway, PM sent :-)

  • AHH!, Ramona, I used to fancy you like mad! and after seeing this I still do, I'd just forgotten. Thanks VJ.

  • Great stuff...got any more?

    Mmmm Mo-dettes Mo-tivate!!

  • There is a full concert recorded.

  • Woah. Is there any way you can post the complete video of this song at least? Thanks for sharing this.

  • i'd interested in that - where do i find it?

  • Oh I should love to see that angel.

  • Thanks for the posting. This is one of only two live clips i have seen in the past 30 years...As the album has been re-released the chance of a reformation of the band is growing...even if only to say goodbye properly.
