  • iphone is shit Nokia N97 is best

  • Reply to krisspychiken,

Cause retards like you buy them

  • Another reply to krisspychicken,

The N97 has a built in FM transmitter. It's the one thing you would never need to connect to it via bluetooth!

  • @thatsthatshit1861993 Москва - говно, а Уфа - заебись

  • hmm.. i've been wondering whats missing... ohhh no backlit keyboard... hehhe.. i like this n97.. is it the next gen of communicator??..

  • iphone all gens are way better

  • does the keyboard even light up?

  • yeah the keyboards are illuminated, however i found that the light was somewhat uneven.. after the 3rd column the light fades quite noticeable

  • the only thing i wish for now is self cleaning shiny touchscreens...maybe finally no more dirty smudges!

  • mega pixels count for nothing these days, its all about the lens and the software. For a phone, anything over 5MP is simply a waste if you doesn't have a decent lens capable of utilizing it.

  • you should speak french better xD

  • @musicvidhd 5 megabyte camera? You mean 5 megapixel? Yeah, that's around the standard res at the moment.

  • I am a fan of Nokia phones, and this one would look great, however...its way too slow:(

  • its a preproduction model i have used a retail model its really fast to use almost as fast as the iphone

  • N97 users

    w w w. NokiaN97Forum. com

  • The web navigation looks pretty fast!

  • i av jus pre ordered mine cant wait 4 this beast!!!

  • finger print!!!!

  • smudges are preventable. The n97 comes with a stylus. O nd simple as either wipe the screen, wash yer hands or just dont eat greesy shit wi yer hands!

  • 700-800

  • Hai...Every body at here khow how much the price for N97?

  • depends where you buy from i can get them around the £300 GBP mark but thats direct from china though

  • smudges... WIPE THE PHONE BEFORE ANTHINGELSE!

gosh the guy has very sweaty hands. :)

  • Does the keyboard have backup light?

  • yes. of course..

  • if it didn't really no point for this phone then

  • yes you have a option to turn it on and off or onto auto. i have seen this phone in the nokia shop. the nokia n86 looks nicer tho

  • je ne parle pas francais

    sorryy :(

  • does this come wid stylus

  • No I don't think so.

  • It's a capacitive screen, not pressure sensitive. So no, there is no stylus.

  • n97 is capacitive? or resistive?

  • resistive, like the 5800

  • this owns the iphone honestly!

  • From this video you think that?

I actually really like the N97 but owning the iPhone 3G since last July I really don't think that this holds a candle to the iPhone.

For me, I consider it a huge advantage that the iPhone has 40,000 apps available, many of which are free.

Nokia's newly launched "Ovi store" has far, FAR less apps and will never catch up, and most of its apps are very very overpriced.

  • well if you think about it...how often do you use the app store or the apps that you get of the app store?

i use to have the iphone 3g and honestly i did not use any of the apps that i purchased or got for free!

i prefer a nokia touch phone other then the iphone..if you disagree its all good..

  • I use the apps all the time! There are certain app store apps that I use every day that will probably never make it to the ovi store.

This phone would bore me. After almost 10 months I'm proud to say the iPhone 3G has not even come close to boring me.

  • you would just have to try the phone out yourself

  • if you like to open fring on iphone, then go offline to make a call, is up to you.

    iphone, monotasking crap.

beautiful for impress on the store, nothing but a toy, worst phone, worst signal, worst sound, just a curious toy.

people got impressed on the store and buy, then realize the thing is only for show up, please spare us from trying to say iphone is something like a nokia phone.

  • Go offline to make a call? What??.... And iPhone isn't monotasking. It just doesn't foolishly allow just any program to waste your battery, which I appreciate!

I don't know about the iPhone YOU use but my iPhone has GREAT single (depends on the provider NOT the iPhone. I have 3G and full bars EVERYWHERE I GO), EXCELLENT sound (I use it as its own speaker because the sound quality is impeccable!), and it's quite a useful business tool, NOT just a toy!

I think you've never used one.

  • yes, and basically, in almost every way, this phone blows the Iphone out of the water!!

I couldn't believe it's limited Bluetooth capabilities, it's rubbish camera, with no flash, NO video at all.

It can't even run flash from websites...

    Bye Bye Iphone..

  • Well that's because until recently barely anyone used bluetooth (which they are implementing into OS 3.0), barely anyone found taking videos on phones to be useful (also on 3.0), and people STILL don't take cellphone cameras seriously and the flashes are always so weak they do NOTHING.

And flash on a mobile browser is always so fucking slow and it's obtrusive and stops the page from loading quickly. I'd rather not have flash than have flash banners pissing me off constantly.

  • Ah, so jellotime, you actually agreed with me..

Such the basics of the mobile industry, innovation etc, shows Your reply was simply desperate, you couldn't think of anything to say... let me rip it to bits.

People have been using bluetooth for years, you may have not noticed, given you were using such a backward phone.

Taking videos, again, for years, they couldn't even do that.

As for flash, well that's a staple diet for the internet now.

You just proved me right, thanks

  • I don't think you know anything about the general cellphone consumers. They don't even know what bluetooth can do. More high school kids than anyone use cellphones and they have no idea wtf bluetooth is.

  • Well, perhaps, this side of the Pond, we expect more from Mobile phones. Everyone I know, finds using Bluetooth to transfer music/pictures/videos to another mobile device or a computer is basic.

Video recording - again, a very basic requirement (unless you never have holidays, or no friends)

The Iphone is a major disappointment, and, the use of streaming video and Flash is essential, again, basics that the Iphone lacks, in fact - spec wise, it doesn't come close.

Nope, glad I didn't get one

  • You're a tool, I don't know a single person that uses bluetooth regularly and the majority of my friends are tech-savvy and use phones that aren't iPhones.

Using Bluetooth is clunky, with Nokia's implementation being a good contender for one of the worst.

Oh and looking forward to seeing the N97 fail - it's always painful to see an ancient, terrible embedded OS like Symbian with tacked on touch support being forced onto nice hardware like that. Why don't Nokia just use Android?

  • Tsuresu, you can always tell the kind of idiot someone is, in how they start their comments.

Let me just pull yours apart.

Firstly, so what about your dumb friends? Music transfers fast from my PC, instead of bulky cables, a night out, I can transfer the best pics to my friends, instead having to use the old Picture messaging, mmm can the I-phone do that?

As for the OS, had no problems with it at all, in-fact ever. And, it handles flash....

LOL, so Tsuresu, did you actually have a point?

  • stupid, Nokia's BT implementation for your information is the best one.

please bring some real facts, not hallucinations.

  • think rycherisingg you have replied to the wrong person..

  • Comment removed

  • You can tell an idiot by the way they post twice, with the same introduction but different body. Change your mind half way through?

My point is this - Nokia phones have good hardware (when Nokia remembers to put enough RAM in them) but Symbian is a slow, clunky piece of crap. I've had no less than 3 Symbian phones and all of them have been terrible in terms of battery life, responsiveness and stability, despite being as expensive as the iPhone.

  • And despite what you say, most people use bluetooth for nothing more than headsets and even bluetooth headsets are a relatively rare sight.

The iPhone may not be able to do every little thing that your average Nokia "crapped-out-after-3-months-of-dev-time" phone can. But the things it can do, it can do far better than any Nokia phone I've ever owned. With 3.0 that "can do/can't do" gap is growing a lot smaller.

  • Tsuresa. sorry, to start on you.. but your a fool.

    You are Iphone brain washed.

As it is, in almost EVERY aspect, tech wise the Iphone is rubbish, it's a dinosaur dressed as a princess..

Not only can the Nokia phones, last a lot longer, I will be able to view web pages with Flash, you know, that integral part of the new internet experience.. I laughed SO loudly when I found out that the Iphone couldn't even do this

The nokia lasts, mine has lasted 2 years with no probs.

    You need to think.

  • Comment removed

  • Tsuresu, I couldn't find your post, as lots of people had marked it as 'spam'

see, I always know when I have succeded in my point, because, those who are not quite intelligent enough, get mad.. I mean, 'British Asshole'? well the British part is a compliment, so thanks, and the arsehole is a fact..

No Flash, No Bluetooth, No MMS, No Video recording, sub standard Pixels.

Oh, and a sub standard 'flashless' internet experience.

If you need more education, really, just ask ole chap..

  • You call Tsuresu "iPhone Brainwashed" but you sir are to bias to realize that every thing that you are saying the iphone dose not have it has had since it came out through jailbreaking and now it wont even be needed with the new 3.0 update and I quite frankly cant understand your argument all of what your saying is false.Have you even used an iphone before? One would believe that you will need to have contact with the thing before developing an opinion about it.

  • Yes I did call Tsuresu Iphone Brainwashed.

basically the rest of your English, was too bad for me to figure out.

  • Wow what a pathetic comment that was, you know you understand my comment crystal clear, but you know what they say ignorance is bliss. (though I do admit that my comment was one big run on sentence)

  • Come on Tsuresa, I saw you post, then you removed it... second thoughts? need time to compose yourself, desperately looking at comparison websites? ... nevertheless, now some time to compose yourself.. oops, did I post twice again.. lol

  • well, I must just hang around with tech savy, intelligent people jellotime91.

  • I for one think you are making excuses for the iphone lack of abilities...Like easy1355 said, people been using bluetooth an video for years on phones... So I don't know where you from, but I been using it since like 2004,2005 on the regular...

  • Most people are too stupid to figure out bluetooth (it's true)...

And what I meant about video is that the quality is so shitty there has never been a point to recording video on cellphones until very recently.

  • only the iphone users don't know what bluetooth is, maybe they are mentally impaired.

    lol

and that's a good explanation on why they did choose the iphone...

  • Yeah just like easy1355 you have no idea what average cellphone consumers are like. A very small percentage of people use bluetooth for HEADSETS, and many of those people don't even know that bluetooth CAN transfer files.

Even when they do they don't use it because it is slow and kills the battery. I've never met ANYONE Who wanted to send me something over bluetooth OR have me send something to them, and I do not know anyone else with an iPhone. Many of my friends use Blackberry.

  • Actually I send stuff over bluetooth about twice a day so I really like it. And if you want to send something over from your computer and ur on a mac wich doesn't run your phone software it could be very handy too.

  • yeah obviously n97 users know bluetooth since they use it for FM transmitters hahaha.... bluetooth is fucking old no one uses it to transfer shit

and dont talk about bluetooth when iphone clearly fucken has the most bluetooth accessories out, get your facts straight fagboy

  • man... transfer a photo from your iCrap to a computer with bluetooth, then come to talk to me.

    face the truth

  • Well I was able to bang ladies 6 times because of Bluetooth Service in my phone... I should thank King Bluetooth for the communication :)

  • falta teclado......

    no hay luzzzzz??????

  • Of course it has, this a beta version that's why it doesn't have lights. It actually has neon blue lights which are pretty cool!

  • GOOD features BAD OS (typical Nokia)

  • love the phone... i dnt know wot colour to go for.. im gettin it the day its out. woooo. can sum1 reply to me wi wot colour... thanx.

  • black! way sexier than the white!

  • looks slow when scrolling... yuck!

  • dam i want it :(

  • the white colors rocks

  • yeah i am thinking of getting the white one too!

    hope it launches soon!

cant wait to get my hands on one, dude

  • SHould I be worried that this phone has a 434 Mhz processor? Or is this a fast processor when it runs on S60? For example phones that run on the Windows Movbile software need high processor because the OS needs more power. But S60 has proved to be better even with lower processors. For instance the E71.

    What are your views?

  • Higher MHZ, is more battery consumtion. S60 is a soft OS. so I think its more than enough!

  • Just in case you goof balls havent noticed this is pre-production software running. Of course there are some lags. Its not the finished product. Do you obviously think Nokia is that stupid to sell the phone without refining it? Asses

  • for me..i think nokia is the best world leading in phone..samsung is second..any phone made in america is just waiting to be broken.. :(

  • why does this model have the shitty processor and no 3d chip...and not even multitouch..:(:( why nokia....

  • doesnt samsong omina use it, android g1..etc???

  • therye not supposed to but you can modify the firmware and they can. out of the box they are not supposed to use multitouch

  • so your saying consumers can do that or companies? also the n97 doesnt have the 3d chip right/?

  • ok in my opinion resistant touch is way better than mulit touch and I'll tell you why. I dont know where you're from but I'm from New England, and we have some pretty cold crappy winters. I like the ability to use my touch screen with GLOVES ON! Something thar no i-phone, g1, samsung, or htc can do!

  • well i always thought MT is always better more responsive and smoother....is that true? or they both can have smooth tscreen?

  • not necessarily smoother. It just means you can make pictures larger with your fingers! ooh! seriously you dont even Need multi-touch for most cell phonr features. RT just as smooth.

  • seriously thats all? i always that multitouch was smoother and you can do cooler things with your fingers...lol

ne how isnt the n97 using a slow processor ?

  • Capacitive screens are much more responsive and you don't have to physically press on them (which in my experience can become quite aggravating).

Also phones with pressure sensitive screens tend to have tiny icons that you often NEED the stylus to touch which is really annoying because if you try to use your finger to press that little x button to end an app in Windows Mobile.. well, good luck.

  • nice phone but take a look at 3:20 and be very careful at the video that is playing on screen you'll notice "lag" in playing, skips of frames. Too bad

  • Due for an upgrade.... vodafone UK told me they only get this phone late July... thats too far!!!! but I'll wait :d

  • what kind of upgrade?

  • phone upgrade... I've had the nokia N95 8BG on contract with vodafone uk for the passed 18 months. it runs out in 2 weeks.

  • i love this phone.

  • actually.

  • yowza.

    what a pretty phone.

  • this phone looks too sick and i cannot wait to get my hands on that sexy thing the only problem is i dunno wether to get it in black or in white

  • I'm going for the white one, apparently finger marks aren't as noticeable and it shouldn't be confused with the iphone then. =)

  • white

  • Release Date will be 23 June 2009

  • in the US? NAM version?

  • at least this guy had some video that was shown, but i still think that in general the nokia showcase people should spend a half hour putting content onto the phone such as contacts etc to give a decent demonstration, not just blank stuff

I rele lookin forward to this phone, but am getting tired of it showing the widgets swapping positions :P

  • Haha, I understand what you man. You may be just like me. Cruising all the videos about this phone. Then it can get a little bit boring seeing the same stuff over and over again. But most of the applications that are to come are still a secret. Let's just wait and see.

  • French women are so sexy.

  • Anyone know the release for the n97?, i heard 31st march but as it's now the 14th april that must have been bulshit

  • probably later than new iphone. Nokia is slack ass.

  • i think its mid june

  • i heard its end of june,,LOL

  • end of june for europe. who knows for us.

  • Well I'm prepared to wait and save up some money. And btw I would like to hear the reviews as well. I think it's coming out in late June.

It's coming, but do you want it to come soon and be a faulty product or a little bit later and an awesome phone with (almost) endless possibilities and cool applications?

  • wow!
