my dad was there he was in the 29th 116th in frantry....he just turned 86 in june.....hes a great human being and still has night mares of the war.....
I met these men in 1994 when I traveled to France as part of the 50th celebration. I represented Hastings, Ne. My great uncle was also in this battle. I stood on top of hill 122 and the church close by. Great men.
My father, 1st Sgt Gordon Weeks fought along side General Greenlief (then 1st Lt. of "L" Co, 134th Inf) in the battle for hill 122 in St. Lo. I had the honor of finally meeting Gen Greenlief in late '99 just weeks prior to his death and have since visited hill #122 in St. Lo and view the plaque he placed there to honor those lost in that battle. What an honor it was to meet him and I hope this Country does not forget what the "Greatest Generation" went through...
