Keeping up with the kids is hard and it looks like you just added another one, (sheltie) . Yesterday, I asked my daughter to push me in the hammock and she rigged up a way for our dog to help.

She handed me a rope that she had tied a dog toy to the other end of, and when the dog grabbed it and ran, well, I was a swingin! Kids are fun!

If you make a loud "yip" when it nips/bite and leave the room she will get the idea that if nipping/biting starts there will be no one to play with. This can be a serious problem if you don't "nip" it in the bud now (lol)

what an adorable puppy. you're right about rawhides, they always leave marks that look like a mafia of two year old kids have been through the house with snotty noses!

the thing that stopped both my puppies from chewing everything in sight was a kong. a rubber toy that you fill with biscuits or treats

Wow! I'm in love with your dog. My little Lulu (she's a massive mutt, sorry to say) was extremely hyper for the first year and grew out to be only moderately hyper. She still doesn't know her limits on biting and playing though.

This is my 4th Sheltie, they are very smart dogs, and your right it is up to the owner to train them. One thing I can say is, all my shelties were very smart and learned quickly, keeping fingers crossed this one follows suit! :)
