1. The concept of slavery in Africa was much different there than here. Slaves were almost, and in many cases completely, parts of the families or tribes into which they were taken. As soon as they were taken onto the ships they were treated as less then beings, less than animals. Granted slavery (as a product of patriarchal assholes as I can only assume you are) is unjust in all forms, but you can hardly compare the two forms.
